Was de-banking Nigel Farage one step too far?

Nigel Farage has been de-banked. His bank is going to close his accounts and new banks are not willing to provide their services.
It turns out this isolated event is part of a much bigger trend to isolate anyone who stands against woke warriors.
But could this be the event that comes to define the reversal in the culture wars? And what does it really mean for the rest of us?

This is allowed to happen due to the 180 degree shift in UK justice to Guilty until proven innocent.

It’s almost certainly red pilled thousands more people so I’m glad they did it. Unfortunate for Nigel though, but he is the one person who can make a change. A hero of mine, a true Englishman

The standard in a country has to be the law. If someone has broken the law, than that's the covenant with society that they break, and the courts deal with it. Private institutions should not be applying their own forms of punishment and isolation of people who have broken no law, but whom have legitimate views the institutions dislike. That to me at least seems like discrimination, and needs stepping on hard. Otherwise we grant institutions a form of power that even governments struggle to attain, and nobody is electing the bankers. It's very, very dangerous to allow this to continue.

If you live in the South West, check out the South West Mutual! For the past few years we have worked hard to find the starting point for a regional mutual bank for Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset. It is clear to us that while there will be a time to launch the bank, that time has not yet come. So we are going forward as a lean, volunteer-led member organisation.

The banks dont have the power the people do if the people backed each other by closing their accounts with any bank that oversteps the mark like coutts (nat west).

This is a particular problem for the government when the bank in question is still 35.8% owned by the british Taxpayers!

It's wrong and the government should give the banks a clear message that this will not be tolerated in our country and a court order will be needed to close bank accounts of law abiding people,

No CBDCs and mandate cash as the only money 'a perfect medium of exchange and a store of value'. All establishments must accept cash and all of us have have a right to be paid our salaries in cash.

The phrase too big to fail, in a healthy capitalist society championed by Adam Smith, capitalism like evolution should always favour the strong. Nepotism in Western financial industry ensured the weak and corrupt survived and innocent were made to pay.

Residency is the barrier to getting a foreign bank account. I have looked at several countries and no bank will allow me to open an account unless I have residency in their country.

It is essential that the political situation is changed to favour the PEOPLE & not big business! The Banks have to be brought under control of the people and the whole ethos of banking changed. Everybody is entitled to a bank account especially when we are encouraged to use plastic cards and direct debits for regular payments! If the government have any morals left then they have to look very closely at the Constitution and the inalienable rights of the people such as free speech & that includes political views!

They should never have been bailed out. Those bankers should have had to deal with the consequences of their high risk decisions. Talk about failing upwards!

Clearly a bad thing and good luck - but banks do just close accounts. In my very modest business career I've had two closed, both never in debt, never caused any trouble, probably not profitable enough for the bank.

Doesn't make it right. Legislation needs to be brought in to prevent them doing so. What makes this situation more relevant is that Farage cannot get another bank account.

In terms of the question in the topic, debanking anyone for those reasons is one step too far, and they took that step a long time ago
