Saw them in sweden at gefle metal preeparty 2 weeks ago, and no one hade their phones up. Some guys started a moshpit and 3 people started to fight. Was like in this video in front row.
Well said... Saw them in 84 on this tour. No pretentious bullshit for posting on facebook or you tube looking for "likes". We were just kids having a great time! Rebellion in rock is dead
@@dylanbasstica8316 Lita Ford on the Dangerous Curves tour in her fishnets and chaps were THE BEST. "You guys like my butt?" Hell yeah we do Lita!" LOL
Back in the day, Wasp was simply unbeatable. Ive seen them live at their peak 6 times and each time was amazing.maybe im wrong for saying this but i prefer Blackie on Bass. Dude made the whole frontman/bassist dynamic look cool. Wasnt too many singer/bass players in those days. The look just fit him well
"The Gods you worship are steel At the altar of rock 'n' roll you kneel A slave who forever rocks Is chained in the devil's locks And slain by the bloody axe I wail" The most metal lyrics ever put to music!!!!
Hell-hound, hot leather on your legs That smokin powder keg you're riding on is hell-bound And you're the one they claim It's going down in flames You're riding Hades' rails (Hellion) Hellion, The devil's Hellion child Hellion, will never have to die Well child, you're sweatin' and you're stoned That alcohol you downed makes you crazy- All night, you damn the hurt and pain And drink the devils rain It's screaming out your name Hellion, The devil's Hellion child Hellion, will never have to die The Gods you worship are steel At the altar of rock 'n' roll you kneel A slave who forever rocks Is chained in the devil's locks And slain by the bloody axe I wail Hellion, The devil's Hellion child Hellion, will never have to die Hellion, The devil's Hellion child Hellion, will never have to die
AWESOME!! This is the Real deal! Holy shit! I just love this Line up,Piper and Chris Holmes. The Sound is incredible, one of the Best metal bands ever!!
I remember when this record came out, it blew my mind! I spent many of my teenage nights stoned on booze, buds, lsd, and whatever listening to these guys. the sound was so gritty, blackies voice. It made me want to play loud ass rebellion rock, and now I do.
At least Blackie had the balls to admit that EVERY musician borrows at least something from those before them but continued to say that unless you bring something of your own to the dance and maintain it, you'll not make it. But he should NEVER have gotten rid of that line-up. Chris Holmes had major drinking problems but Steve Riley was bad-ass and had no issues.
I saw them open for Iron Maiden in Biloxi MS in 1985 and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen. They have always been one of my favorite Metal Bands. When I first heard that voice singing L.O.V.E. I knew they were going to be good.
i still like all the members that have been in WASP but to see Stet play live in Ft Myers bch is amazing in band 10,000 views .Tim,John & Stet just kick butt every time
nope - saw them last year in august in munich and yesterday @ metal festival/Austria...they still rock the shit out of eweryone Most underated Metal Band of all times, they should be headliner - and who was headliner yesterday? Those damn m...f.... In Extremo
When I first saw a WASP cassette in the record store and asked about them, the clerk said "I haven't listened to it yet, but I hear it's very metallic." DUH!!!
I saw WASP live back in 1984, not in London but in Stockholm (where the "Girl" was a bit more naked than in some other parts of that tour. I was only 12 years old, but it was my first "real" rock concert, and I loved it. WASP 4 -ever.
In my opinion, like '70s KISS, '70s Alice Cooper, early '80s Ozzy, and early '80s AC/DC, ONE OF THE DEFINITIONS OF A "CONCERT-SPECTACLE"-W.A.S.P.: LIVE AT THE LYSEUM! A LOT of TODAY'S concerts are NO WHERE NEAR the aforementioned shows!
I was at this gig at the Lyceum (which now rather sadly hosts The Lion King) and it was a fantastic gig. WASP at the time were what say, Machine Head or Trivium are now, ie, very hot. Blackie was at his best, vocals shredding the air like someone had loosed a bandsaw and it was kicking like a mule. I later got to know Blackie well. He's a very very intelligent man and a consumate performer.
this has to be the best wasp line up, although i saw them in 89 touring for the headless album, great as well, what an album, never got the credit they deserved
Damn, geat line up!!! Too bad I was born that year, if only I'd been around a bit longer I might of had the chance to check that shit out! Greetz from Holland!
@hubitrece Wow, it's cool that for someone like yourself who was born in '84, you remember this stuff. Keep listening to the classics man...you'll never see talent like this again! Take care.
When they first came out Blackie was going for a Gene Simmons "shock vibe". As WASPs music later became more mainstream it seems Blackie decided a Paul Stanley "flamboyant vibe" was in order. Through all the member changes he also probably figured he should just be on rhythm guitar. They were my first concert in '84 opening for Maiden. I was 10 yrs old.
