most ironic , if they show retail graphics in this video , this game will not be overhyped and not be failure project .And i think we can saw better reviews and community reaction on this very good and interesting game .
@@magicmamba915 It was more than just the graphics, I don't give a shit about the graphics. This game had so much nuance and persistent elements to it shown in these videos that are just not really part of the game. Everything from you walking up to the club to the car crash seem to have this believable nuance to it, npc dont just scream swear and run away, they actually freak out and cower in their cars and have conversations amidst the chaos. You can fluidly choose to save that person stuck in the car and thats just one example of stuff not found in the game. The graphical downgrade is just part of what was removed from the game.
@@Planeverse Ubisoft downgraded it, things you see in the trailer like mechanics and graphics are a lot worse in the final game, Ubisoft have basically done this with almost every game they've made.
@@mikanawesome the only difference between this and GTA V is the fog and explosions. If PCs and next gen consoles can handle GTA V, they can handle this.
It's amazing how people in this demo interact with each other (helping each other after car crash etc.) and make the game look so vivid. In the final version they just get out of the car, curse a bit and drive away like nothing happened.
In my opinion, watch dogs 1 will always remain the best game in the series. The storyline is amazing and most importantly, the feeling of this game, looks dark and nostalgic...
Depends on what kind of person you are I guess. WD2 was colorful and happy, while WD1 was darker. Personally I think WD1 is the best of them all too, mostly because it had a slower pace and better mechanics, and it was darker and more of a game for grown ups, and it felt more immersive, while WD2 and WD3 are more for kids.
I remember hearing not long after the game was released that you could edit the config files on the PC version to remove the graphical restrictions and allow the graphics to look like this. I'd say there's videos on it.
I know graphics are downgraded. But i can't deny the fact i enjoyed every single minute of the game. The story, the characters and overall world is so immersive. Undoubtly better than legion.
Yes but not just the graphics have been downgread. The vitality of the city, artificial intelligence, npc intelligence, their naturalness has been downgread.
@@AmirVD_027 gta? I mean gta is a massive bar to go over they don’t really think they have queues for moments like ambulance spawning in after an accident or fire fighters spawning when a car blows up
What I think I liked the most about the first one, was the tone. Overall not a fan of the goofy-quirky-edgy-hip tone that so many games inevitably veer towards.
If you play on PC, you can enable all of these graphical/visual features. They're still in the game, just turned off. Ubisoft doesn't know how to code properly so these effects make the game EXTREMELY unstable so it crashes constantly. That's more than likely the only reason they were removed from the PC version, them not knowing how to make the game look good and have stable performance.
@@lucask4377 god of war 2018 & Ragnarok, Rdr2, cyberpunk. These games are way better and objectively have better graphics, details, animation and world design. especially rdr2 and god of war
I've just finished the game with 7670m which is not great gpu on medium settings; and I tried to run it on ultra -still looks crappy- 4fps!! Super smooth; well done ubishit. Optimization is shittier than ubishit.
*Breaking news:* About 560 GB of Watch_Dogs: Legion's source code got leaked to hackers and now it's available at 4chan to download. It has everything including uncompressed textures, program lines, animation files, character models, even code for future projects and whatever needed to completely mod the game. boards.4channel.org/v/thread/530840379 www.tweaktown.com/news/76120/watch-dogs-legion-source-code-leaked-comes-in-at-560gb/index.html
I loved the understated style of Watch Dogs. Aiden Pearce was more of a spy moving under the radar. Strolling comfortably through the rain, cell phone in hand, leaving chaos behind. The new games are a little bit too colorful, too loud, too fast, too overstated.
So true man, this game was the GOAT! Everything has so much detail and thought put to it! True talent and passion! Too bad they had to downgrade the graphics for the ps3
Yes it left me with the best impression in the long run because of it's tone that was more serious. The edgy and hip tone that so many games go towards is kinda meh and takes away so much tension and gravity from the storylines... Which is the biggest reason I'm for example not getting excited at all for the supposedly re-booted Saints Row. It's quirky-goofy-hip overload all over again.
This Watch Dogs has its own story and style; DedSec and Blume were just big sharks in the background while Aiden worked through his own goals. The other WDs have become just Assassin's Creed sans memory exploration.
@@reallyhimongod I know they both did. I'm just saying Watch Dogs looks like a really good game when you compare it to Cyberpunk. But still, they both lied and undelivered.
*Persistence!!!* -I think this is the elusive quality that was missing from the released game, that was shown here. (1:04) - The club: Instead of being instanced, was already active and even had believable NPCs lined up outside and going in. (1:55) - The bouncer: Instead of standing around, only waiting to reject the Player, he is actively checking the tickets of anyone who is in line. (2:54) - The snitch: Instead of being just a disembodied voice, was actually in the club and only activated her dialogue once Pierce entered her cone of vision. (5:07) - The guards, instead of singling out Pierce from the moment he entered the club, only started searching for Pierce after the call and they did so without disrupting the other patrons. (5:22) - The Target I: Instead of being spawned in some "office on the 3rd floor", he had to get into a car and travel to the club. (6:40) - The innocent bystanders: Instead of popping out the cars equipped with all manner of bad words directed towards the Player, were still in their car in most cases injured and could be rescued. (7:46) - The assault rifle: Instead of instantly becoming a static collectable on the ground, recognized that its NPC holder was going to die allowing Aiden to seamlessly "swap" weapons. (7:58) - The gas station: Instead of exploding immediately after the intersection crash, took time to burn and grew into a "set-piecing" explosion later in the fight. (8:12) - The Target II: Instead of running around like an idiot with inflated HP, is still trapped injured in the car and lets his goons handle the fighting. III: Instead of the door being the only access to the Target, Aiden was able to enter the interior space of the car through the window and pull him out. (8:46) - The Wanted System: Instead of immediately showing to the scene and having a GPS-like precision on the Player, it took actual time for the cops to come. Which gives the implied perception that they had to actually travel from a headquarters or nearby patrol route. The significance of this Gameplay Trailer isn't in the Graphics as the mob may suggest at every opportunity. It is something far more subtle and in the background. *The brilliance of it is in the way the developers set "32 of the Chess Pieces on the Board" instead of just the cold, optimized bare minimum of 12 necessary to set up a passable mission.* They had so many background elements in Persistence that when it was time for the Player to act, several things were already in play. Which brings the Grand Potential of having many components for a skilled Player to strategize with and potentially manipulate to their advantage. For every moment there was always multiple things at play in this preview which made it seem so Believable and almost Photorealistic.
This game was clearly rushed by launch and ubisoft treated this game as if it were a cash grab instead of an opportunity to make a mark in next-gen gameplay the same way Naughty Dog did with Uncharted, Rocksteady with Batman Arkham, or CD Projekt Red with The Witcher 3. My guess is that they didn't realize how popular the demo would be after they revealed it to us at e3 and then were rushed to finish the game so they can still profit off of the hype instead of being patient and making the only open-world game that could possibly rival GTA V. What a waste potential
@@jeremienicolas9386 That's what they only know. Ruining their own potential, however this genius bastard still stand tough as they know how to build hype and manipulate consumers with their lies and marketing skills. They own the potential and resources. When the indies are able to have better ideas for tittles and have the budget, soon this company will collapse along with their AC series, FC series and Ghost Recon series which somehow managed to give them good reputation still. I'm thinking that new Splinter Cell will be a backup plan for them to revive the company when everything goes bad. Out of nostalgia, those who played Splinter Cell series are now grown ups who will then spend all their money for new Splinter Cell. This nostalgia method was done by movie companies like Disney.
This is exactly what I thought. This isn't just graphical, it's internal and I love this game for a lot of what it implemented and seeing this still hurts.
bruh, Aiden in the trailer is cold.. he caused a death of someone's partner, probably caused major injuries to the other drivers too and blew up a gas station just to kill that one person.
No trailer hyped me more, no game disappointed me more. After 7 Years Ubisoft still hasn’t reached this quality in their games. What surprises me is that the trailer clearly shows that Ubisoft obviously knows or at least knew 7 years ago, what’s important. Why don't they tackle their games the same way? I guess, because making a groundbreaking trailer is way cheaper than making a groundbreaking game.
First off consoles couldn't handle the graphics as well the npcs I heard it's all scripted for that scene in e3 thing or whatever plus the story was good
You are completely missing the point people who are making the trailer are the promotion team, completely different to the devs... Promotion teams job is to promote the game in the best light possible... And they did their job well... Just like with any other type of advertisements... Have you ever wondered why food in the adverts look so good? Most of the time it's not even real... The point is to fake it as much as possible to make it look good, the goal is to make you want to buy the product, no matter the cost or the lies, they get paid money for that... So when you detach that promotion team from the rest of the company and its greed that sits at the base of every capitalistic major company, all it comes down to for them is making more money, cutting all the possible corners... They are completely detached from reality, as an example with micro or with Blizzard presenting a Diablo immortal mobile game to PC gamers... Those corporate f* **s don't give a damn about quality of their products, they only care about maximizing profit margins... Bottom line is if it's mainstream and corporate 9 times out of 10 it's going to be sh*t. Sad world we live in but it's the truth...
@@stevebalmer8888 In this case, the promotion and the developer worked closely together. The video is nothing artificial like CGI, it is completely in-game footage. That means everything that can be seen was made by developers, maybe because the guys from the promotion told them that, regardless of whether it can be implemented later in the game. But basically you are right, advertising is always fake and never reflects the actual product. But just because that is the standard, we shouldnt stop getting angry about it, because this is the only way companies are forced not to exaggerate the fake. And it worked, Ubisoft never had such an immense downgrade after that.
Im played this game in 2022, and honestly everything was beyond my expectation. From the car explosion visuals to such amazing stealth, the city at night and all the car chases, honestly they were just captivating. The best part for me was how the whole map is so diverse with alleys, crossroads and connecting streets which makes car chase, heck just cruising around in your car just fabulous. Now i dont know why this game has been criticised or what was the original release like back in 2013, but honestly....honestly it lives up to all expectations if you have got a pc that can run it with high settings
This gameplay demo still gives me the same chills that I had the first time I saw this. It's a shame that the final product didn't end up being like this.
kind of ironic that we now have the technology on mass to support a Ubisoft game this immersive, and yet this series is officially cancelled, meaning we may never get a remastered WD1 that actually delivers on the promise of quality this gameplay offered a decade ago.
Yeah, I'm just here because the announcement of the next gen consoles, we probably going to see that kinda stuff again, they will present us crazy graphics at begging until games start releasing and we gonna find out it wasn't that big of a deal
This game was very real, this Demo was a small cut from the game that they were developing since 2009 , the massive success of AC2 allowed them to spread wider into multiple projects but the biggest concern with Watch_Dogs was that the original story was waaayyyy too edgy and dark. The demo being played in this video was not pre-rendered, journalists in Los Angeles were allowed to play the game at the actual event venue that very July 5th of 2012 (E3) , which is why different gaming channels have this demo played a bit differently, VG247 shows different inputs too. We're never gonna get this game, but we could, if we really really organized...try to get Ubisoft to release this very Demo , is the best we could get.
@@ihatemyjob9502 leaks on discord, watch dogs revival mod used to be really active. also some interviews with jonathan morin in late 2013 early 2014, i even asked him a few questions myself on twitter. they can't be honest about it but yes...the original story was definitely not pegi 13.
If ubisoft had put the effort and detail into this game as rockstargames does, this game would have been an amazing game and ubisoft could make billions. But well. They wasted this oportunity
What I really regret about Watch dogs 2 and 3 is that the camera is far from the main character .. in Watch_Dogs 1 it was close to the player which is what made it more realistic
And people thought that cyberpunk 2077 is gonna be the best futuristic technology - Hacking game of all time. Watch dogs 1 will always remain one of the best games. Story, the feeling, graphics...
9 years later and I still want this to release one day, maybe as some kind of reboot/remaster? hell, I’ll even take just what we see here but as a playable demo
***** I see too on x360, but I watched videos of watch dogs on ps4 and xbox one and pc, they aren't like this too! game trailers make us want to buy them just for graphics, but when we play them we see just shits and don't look like this, dude don't buy a game just for graphics, just buy a fun game that u see cool and awesome. idk like cod black ops on x360 or ps3, or gta5! just get fun games not for graphics!
Same, this demo looks so good. It's not just the graphics, but the gameplay itself. The animations are so much more smooth and the fire fight far more dynamic than in the actual game...
LOL to think that Watch Dogs Gameplay Demo at e3 in 2012 looked so much better than the new Watch Dogs Legion 2019, it blows my mind. I guess this is what we will get on next gen consoles with Watch Dogs 3 or something.
I was hoping for a GTA style game with coop and customization for watchdogs 3. and the future setting just looks weird. it looks like infamous but with hackers and no super powers.

I think they wasted potential of first game on purpose, by making it all bland on release, this original vision they had that shown in this demo was later scapped for a more teen audience kind of stuff. And it's completly the case now with WD2, RIP.
Ok so let's take a look of all the things that changed from the release. Let's ignore the graphics ok. 1. Weather Updates. Not in final game though it would be nice to have the news tell me when it would rain. 2. Notice how all intersections had traffic lights like real life Chicago. In final game it's mostly stop signs. 3. Some cars had a slightly different look. Like the taxi having different headlights and the red BMW lookalike not having a carbon roof. 4. NPC's would hail a cab and enter them. Not an in-game feature at all. 5. Different hacking and weapon wheel. Only hacking and you had to bring up the wheel to hack into cars, trains, and traffic lights along with bridges. 6. Focus looked entirely different. 7. Much more cars and destruction when making traffic lights green. 8. When explosion is heard, an ambient sound of car alarms are heard adding more realism. 9. Traffic Lights have street names. 10. Jordi doesn't wear his black leather gloves. 11. It had a violence probability. A non existent feature in the final game. 12. The Fasto car appears in The Loop rather than just in Parker Square and Brandon Docks. 13. It looked like Mad Mile had different streetlights similar to The Loop ones before they swapped to LED's. 14. Some NPC's could die in a traffic crash. 15. Cars would get damaged in near the radius of the explosion. Rather than in the final game where it would need to be in front of the gas tank.
The Hailkal R or that BMW lookalike: - Had a normal body colour paint roof - Had a v10 engine - Backfires a lot more also aiden's face looks a bit different
Ryan Xenios you think that it will be available for the xbox one fat? I mean, actually red dead redemption II was released for xbox one fat, quite an unbelievable thing
@Ryan Xenios nope. Its Berlin. Its a prequel and an origin story to the CTOS when it was a CERN project for the Cold War. It's late 88. T Bone will be in it too.
