What is described here is widely known as a ''Ubisoft model'' game. You run around, find the marker on the map, climb on it to reveal other locations, find pointless collectibles, clear enemy camps and so on. Rinse and repeat. It's nothing but an utterly boring and uninspired checklist of things to do. It's a very sterile gameplay loop and if you have played one Ubisoft game, you have played them all.

If you want an example of "Taking the same game and remaking it over and over while changing setting" but done right, look at From Soft and the various Dark Souls type games they've made. They're always remixing the formula and improving the experience, even if the gameplay is always using the same cornerstone of Demon's Souls. Most of the Mario games also follow that trend, too. Taking a good base to work with, like a burger, and adding your own spin on things is good, when what you're adding makes sense. Like adding cheese, or a vegetable of your choice. Ubisoft is more like taking that burger and putting glue and bleach on it.

I think the world would be different if we were just dead nuts on the description of it with no filters ! Just raw and uncut with parental advisories to let the special little basement dwellers know shits gonna get deep and they will most likely be highly offended to the point of psychosis!

They make beautiful games with fascinating concepts but the beauty is only face deep. I believe graphics sell. Ubisoft games are pretty on the outside but hollow in features and scripting.

try revisiting the first game on pc with the living city mod. it’s truly a good game with some fun combat and great music. seriously tho the mission music in watch dogs 1 carries the entire game it’s so fkn good
