It is easy to hate on homage watches and sometimes I get it. On the other hand, homages of watches that are unattainable, either due to their price or their rarity, are so legit. I mean, if it's homage or not having a watch that you love at all, I'd go with the first option. BTW, when AliExpress brands do original designs with their great quality, these are a no-brainers.
Got to love Falafel 🧆 I’m a big fan! Dis, I’m really liking this budget SeaQ homage that you’ve just bought. I just wanted to ask your opinion on something regarding a Fratello Watches article I read recently titled “Why budget watches don’t make sense”. Do you think that this statement is correct? The article was referring to how a $200 Watch like your Seestern is basically a ‘disposable Watch’ in that it will cost that much or more to get serviced so basically only has a limited life span. I disagree with that article and thought that it was just clickbait really. There is so much fun to be had in the under $500 range with Watches and there are so many different types of Watches out there in this price bracket to be enjoyed that can often go for many years more than the average service interval. I am a fan of budget Watches, whether by established brands or Micro Brands, it looks like you are too. It’s not the fact that not everyone can afford a Rolex (although that is a good point), it’s just that there are so many great budget Watches out there I think. You ought to read the Fratello Watches article and discuss it on your livestream sometime. Budget Watches do make sense to many of us I feel. They are fun, ways of trying expensive pieces out if you’re buying homages but, also Watches that we can connect with and get many years of wear out of. I’d be interested to hear your opinion my fellow Robot 🤖
I can relate to the idea that a watch that costs $200 is not a wise investment in the sense that it would require service in some years, but it doesn't make it "non sense" at the same time. But I guess, it is disposable, if it breaks - no biggie, it ain't expensive. A $2000 watch, on the other hand... So it's not that they don't make sense it's just they're lower-risk factor. Does that make sense? (I didn't read the article yet, too tired)
@@disheuresdis Also, for someone who runs a watch channel, these watches can provide good content at a low price. Indeed, some of the fromage watches from Panini Design are in the $50-$60 price range, especially during the big Ali sales. Sorry, have food on the mind now!
