Watch Me Draw This - Speed Drawing with Pencils 

Here’s a quick (one minute) speed drawing of my latest portrait drawing that I’m teaching in a live workshop. I’ve had some requests to make this available as an online Realistic Pencil Drawing Tutorial.

I'm using several different drawing techniques to create the beard here including what I call the "Indentation Method" and the "Frisket Method". The drawing paper I'm using is very different for me. It's Strathmore Smooth Bristol Paper. The reason for using this paper takes a bit more explanation than I have room for here. Perhaps I'll do a youtube video on that.
This one is done almost entirely with General's Charcoal Pencils. I used some graphite pencils for the texture on his forehead.
