I love how Luz's name translates to light and how the light spell is an integral part in her character development and representation.

Dana and her crew faced the odds. Despite being reduced to a few long episodes they made the best of it. What a fitting finale for this great show. I can't thank Dana Terrace and her entire team enough. And I'm glad Dana can move on from Disney and live her life now.

They really had to hurt us one more time with that move-in date. Luz Celebrating her birthday while moving to the BI for college implies that her dad died shortly after her birthday, given the date in Reaching Out being August 22nd.

the collector tried to fix luz because he had only seen belos break(kill) and recreate the grimwalker, hence had no idea what death was

I love that Raine's palismen is a fox. Foxes are symbolically tricksters. I think that it fits well with Raines's personality especially season two Edit: MOM I'M FAMOUS

I just find it interesting how Hooty ate the letter from the Titan Trapper... like he wanted to indirectly protect King from them. He really was looking up for him in some ways or keeping an eye on him. It's also Hooty that directly led King to discover his powers. Maybe Papa Titan and Hooty are really linked.

I adore the fact that Hunter got to learn how to carve palismen and makes them for a living after telling Belos that’s what he wanted

One thing I noticed is that while Raine and Eda exchanged earings... Luz and Amity exchanged accesories too. Amity has Luz's triangle earings. This leads me to believe this is a Boiling Isles tradition, similar to a ring. While maybe not a marriage, it is a promise to never be apart.

I was really happy to finally see King's father and also happy to see the end of Belos.

So much for seeing: Flashback episode of Philip and Caleb's origins along with them meeting Evalyn & Philip making his first grimwalker Bat Queen's owner Episodes focused on the head witches of Potions, Oracle, Healing, & Construction covens Flashback of Eda meeting Hooty Story of how Darius and Alador became enemies while they used to be friends Kikimora and Odalia being imprisoned or killed Luz meets Dell Clawthorne and became her father figure King calling Eda, "Mom"

My personal theory for Amity breaking herself free is the raw power she has! Later on in the episode when Raine breaks out, Belos comments how abnormally powerful they’ve always been. I naturally thought this would apply to Amity too, especially as the entire series she has been characterized as not only a top student but a magical prodigy.

35:10 Bump is definitely retired! We saw a different teacher wearing the headmaster's robe/scarf welcoming the new students, that included the Dana Terrace insert!

While I’m sad that The Owl House is over, I’m also glad that Dana Terrace and the rest of the TOH crew managed to give us all a satisfying conclusion to such a wonderful story.(2020-2023) Side Note: I’m also happy that *Lumity, Raeda, and Huntlow* are all together in the timeskip epilogue.🎉

Something I didn't noticed until watching this break down but, if you look at the way the Demon Realm looks etched in the stars when the Collector is explaining his back story, it looks exactly like the top planet depicted in the Calamity Book showed by King Andrius in Amphibia....ITS CONFIRMED! The Calamity Box can travel to The Boiling Isles.

I wonder if the collector's concept of death is so skewed because of how belos treated the grimwalkers. No matter what happened to them, they'd always come back

What an incredible finale it’s was so hard not trying to cry during the last couple of minutes

The episode was every bit of epic as i thought it would be! And again i love that they ended the episode with a time skip, Seeing the characters aged up and everything that they accomplished in life was a real treat!!!

Playing 'His Theme' while talking about Luz's death, was something I was not ready for. One of my favourite and most emotional moments from Undertale, and probably one of the best moments from WAD

Something I noticed, fake Amity's fighting style is noticeably different, she fights more like she is water bending, rather than Amity's more solid blockier style.

Dana Terrace and the crew had the impossible challenge of wrapping up this story in three specials, which combine them together, serves as a 2 and a half hour conclusion to the story. And yet, despite the impossible odds, they were able to pull it off. Delivering an ending that I will never forget and will be cherished. Let’s keep the views on the Season 3 episodes going up so that way we can get more content with these characters. After Dana gets a good rest.

With collector's arc, I'm also pleased that the door seems to be open any time he wants to see his new friends. He has improvement to do, yes, but his new pals are also there any time he needs them or wants to see them while he goes through his own personal journey of redemption and self discovery

I loved everyone's adult designs. They look so cool, Amity especially. Willow going from a kinda chubby nerd to a buff athlete stronger than her boyfriend gave me a good chuckle. I would love to see more from this series someday. Gonna miss all these characters.

the art at the end made me cry, the owl house really touched A LOT of people and it will always live in our hearts despite disney killing it off so suddenly Thank you to everyone who worked on the show, you all quite literally made history

I love the fact that the tree the university is built on is the seed that del gave to Eda in the time pool episode

the nightmare of amity blaming luz for belos broke my heart and amity and camila were taken and turned to puppets broke my heart even more!

Another fun little detail, that I haven't seen anyone talk about: it seems like the new portal door is powered by the Collector, and no longer by titans blood. The pastel colored star design is verry reminecent of Collectors aesthetic during his controle of thd boiling isles, and once the door openes you hear the Collectors voice greeting any visitors to the demon realm. That means King won't have to regularly "sacrifice" his blood to keep the door operational! XD

I have literally been anticipating your breakdown for this episode all week! I personally adored the finale and felt that it was a perfect farewell to this beloved show, especially considering the circumstances. My highlights from this episode were definitely the interactions between Eda, King, Luz and The Collector. They were so wholesome together when revisiting our favourite locations, yet the moment that broke me was when King and Eda went *feral* and The Collector began to cry after Luz faded into light. That scene was phenomenal in terms of animation, music, voice-acting and overall execution. Another moment which ties into this is of course The Collector choosing to help the Hexsquad by holding up the Archive House despite their own exhaustion and the block on their magic; it really emphasises their character growth and newfound resolve. I also loved the insane number of callbacks and full-circle moments we got, especially the significance of Light Glyphs and Luz’s big climactic moment (you know the one). Anyway, before I go off on a tangent, I would just like to say thank you to this awesome community. I have loved every part of this journey and I know we are all going to miss this show dearly…

the one thing i personally wish we could’ve gotten with a proper season 3 is more of the clawthorn family lore and caleb’s history with evelyn. I know it’s been made pretty obvious about the relation and relationship but I would’ve loved an episode properly dedicated to it

You know, the moment I first heard Luz started to narrated. I thought it was a older Luz as a mom telling the event of what happens to her and Amity kids. I was right about the time skip part.

I know it will never happen, but it'd be super fun if Steven Universe Nd The Owl House had a crossover. I can see a bunch of fun stuff coming from it. Willow and Peridot bonding over farming and inferiority complexes, Lapis and Hunter being trauma/arts and crafts buds, someone calling out Steven and Steve thinks they're asking for him, Amythest meeting V and them shapeshifting into each other. Gus nerding out about Lars and the Off-colors' space adventures, Eda, Garnet and Raine being awesome together, Pearl and Lilith doin nerd stuff, Luz and Steven reacting to Lion and King respectively, Amity and Connie gushing about their idiots and, all the while Greg and Camila are just quietly freaking out about what chaos all this will bring.

16:59 The way you used the UNdertale soundtrack in that moment was pure genius. I am actually tearing up because of that. This soundtrack always makes me feel sentimental, since that game hit me so hard when I frist finished it. Using that when you start talking about Luz dying is extremely well thought-through good fucking job!

this finale was amazing, it made me cry and got me pumped just like Amphibia's and like Amphibia's I'm sad that it's over but I'm happy I watched it from beginning to end. thank you, Dana and the Owl House crew.

My headcanon is the name of the raised arm is Titan's reach... also the tree that the University of wild magic seems to be in appears to be a giant Palastrom tree

I thought it was implied that the new principal of Heckside was the 3 eyed purple horned woman welcoming a student into the school - this was between seeing Barkus and then Bump who was now the school gardener. The purple demon woman has been seen in the school throughout the series, she is wearing what looks like a religious order's robe & hat and now has a sash with the titan's head on it. Since Bump is now in the garden I think the implication is that is how he chose to retire, to still be around the students, but no longer to carry the burden of running the school. Since the purple demon woman (what was her name?!?) is next seen welcoming a student, I thought the implication was clear.

Oh! The monster belos! It looks like Mega Tyranitar! And the reference to Full Metal Alchemist with the reaching for the moon scene. I love this show!

Lowkey I was thinking this when i watched the last episode. But what if a door randomly appears or something happens where someone makes one and it leads to the amphibia universe. And theres like a big bad villain that is connected to both worlds and luz and anne have to fight him together. And they get both of there power ups again like titan luz comes back but she looks even cooler and anne has the powers of all of the stones that were in the box. And i feel with this movie it can show like how each character is doing or how much they’ve grown.

it sure was an incredible journey and it truly is sad it had to be cut short. i sure am gonna miss this world and these characters. definitely gonna have to binge the entire series now that its fully done soon.

So I have a theory, while am rewatching Eclipse Lake episode, I noticed flapjack could reflect titan magic. Which mean the archivist could also used the palismen against Titans

One thing that made me sad after seeing the finale that king would outlive all his friends. But then I realized because of the collector he’ll always have a friend. Also I was sorta mixed on the collector going back to the stars but then I realized the kid needs to face some sorta consequence as if he stayed on the isles he’d still be feared by the general population and a trial against him problaby wouldn’t go so well.

This is a great review breakdown of the owl house finale and I'll love the owl house for this is the best series that I'll never forget so thank you dana!

Not sure if anyone noticed or if I’m reading into it a lot but when Luz was making spell circles with the titans magic they almost all looked like an ouroboros before the glyphs appeared. Especially the huge spell Eda helped spin her for. Thought it was a cool detail since snakes seem to always play a huge role with representing Luz

I like to think that Hooty was especially made by the titan to keep an eye on King. The titan said he kept an eye on King so maybe he could see out of Hooty's eyes. This would also make sense since the mini Hooty comes out of the titan's eye.

Finally! The breakdown is here! I loved seeing the final battle and everyone grown up and changed in the time skip. I am going to miss The Owl House.

I also like to think the first part of the in between realm scene is VERY reminiscent of Kingdom Hearts. First, her light particle in the realm is reminiscent of a person's heart in KH, which is made apparent that's what they were going for when, when the light goes below the water, it changes back into Luz. And then, when Luz gets saved by King's father, it mirrors a scene in KH3 where Aqua falls into the dark ocean and was ready to accept death only to have Sora save her by pulling her out. Or maybe that's just me

We can all tell what was Luz thinking when Belos try to Manipulate her when the boiling rain melting his flesh Luz"I won't kill you, but I don't have to save you." Batman would approve

Since I ve found about this show in june 2021 , with the season 2 was going ti begin (how lucky I am) , I stumbled upon this amazing channel , since then I ve watched all of your videos (amphibia s too) , even Steven Universe, man I got addicted by your explanations, your humor and also the amazing theory and speculation you ve made. The Owl House has been, in my humble opinion, the greatest show on television for the past few years. I will always be grateful that Dana Terrace and her team made something so special. It will live in my heart forever, and with any luck, as ink in my skin. I'm still trying not to cry as the finality sets in. Someday, Owl Friends, maybe the portal will open once more and I can see you again. Until then...thank you. Thank you from the deepest place in my soul. Byyeeeee...

i love it when eda chest starts to swell just before they shout out "The Heart"

Perhaps I'm the future I (a screenwriter in training) could work with Dana to bring you all the content you deserve. A sequel or prequal series to the owl house (though I would prefer a sequel where they must combat the archivists) but of course this is wishful thinking. If we never get any owl house content ever again, I wouldn't be disappointed, as what we did get was pretty damn good.

For the truly, truly formidable task the Owl House crew faced in front of them, they not only pulled it off, but monumentally *SHATTERED* it, to the point that I'm firmly sure that Disney not strangling the team with a 2 hour runtime, no matter how tragic that might be, would not be any better than the insane results we got! Plus they now have the bragging rights of saying they succeeded and bested all the odds and delivered one of the greatest ''seasons'' the medium of animation has ever seen, despite the atrocious handycap they had. The first episode was actually incredible and it blew me away harder than I thought anything could when I initially watched it. The second episode was less fabulous and had quite a bit of flaws now that I re-look at it, but I still find it as a 9/10 amazing episode, and the finale... Well, it was nothing short of phenomenal. An utter godsend, we could say. How do you wrap up so many loose ends and finish everything, on top of giving so many amazing extremely subtle references for the long time fans and delivering one of, if not *THE COOLEST* final climactic battles any animated short has ever seen, whilst *ALSO* Being absolutely gorgeous on the animation department and genuinely extremely emotional and take all the time you need for the moments that truly matter?! *I AM SPEECHLESS.* Yeah to be perfectly sincere there are a few nitpicks I have, still, like of course _NO PRESENCE OF ANY HOOTY DIALOGUE,_ and, what's easily my biggest nitpick... I really, *REAAAALLY** wanted to see the belos-posessed titan actually stand up and wreck shit, just like in that extremely iconic deleted scene. As is, the main part that is possessed (The weird goop dragon thingy) doesn't feel all that menacing because it's anchored to the emperor's castle and can't move. I think a final climactic battle that was more fast-paced and took place in the skies, which I think would have been even better than the masterpiece we got, but hey, yet again, this is just a nitpick. Overall, I am still flabbergasted by what an actual godsend we got despite all the fuck-up chances we had. I am nothing short of astonished and I am extremely happy to be so.

This episode was filled with a lot of plot twists for me to handle and I'm glad it ended the way it did.

I would have loved to see a scene between Caleb and Phillip kind of like the scene between Ursa and Ozai in the Avatar The Last Airbender comics.

(At 34:26) oh yeah. that reminds me, in the archives, when everyone else fights, we never see Hunter use Flapjack's teleporting power EVER… AGAIN…, after episode 2.

I’m so glad you pointed out the use of perdition as Belos’ big line when he begins possessing the Titan. When I also fully figured out the significance of his use of that word I thought that really contributed to his motivation and the kind of delusion he lived under that this realm was it’s own form of a living hell rather than a word where thinking and feeling beings existed and lived. Thought that was such a cool detail and use of a very theologically themed word from the time period in which Philip originated.
