You want to print as much as you can without flashing. The heat from the pallet is what is causing the ink to dry. The mesh count you use is very important. For a print like this I would use 160 mesh or lower maybe 125 mesh. If you coat your screen heavy maybe, coat it twice letting it dry between coatings. You might have to add time to exposing your screen. you want a thick layer of emulsion. Another thing I do is put a pad on the pallet. One of the materials that works great is the material that is used to make wetsuit. Like the ones surfers use. This spongy pad allows the ink to stay on the surface. If you are printing on a hard pallet surface and the squeegee rubber is some what harder you will not get as much ink down. Then your kind of fighting it. The foam/rubber pad really helps. After that it's kind give and take on how opaque you want the ink to be. I use to what the white ink super white, with print/flash/ print using plastisol ink. I like the softness of the waterbase ink. I only hit my t-shirts once and let them air dry over night. This might not be ideal for production runs where you have to get it out right away. I have a count-o-veyer dryer but it's not idea for water base ink. It a pretty old dryer. Just my 2 cents - Henry loco Contreras

the reason that ink is drying in the screen is because you are not leaving the screen flooded after printing

@jesselejarzar5114
@jesselejarzar5114 3 года назад
Yeah I was going to make the same comment, first you might need a special emulsion, with a hardener , adding a retarder to help keep the ink from drying too quickly, flooding the screen, and printing on dark colors maybe adding discharge to the white ink on dark shirts and the water based print will pop and be smooth to the touch. On the manual I've printed hundreds.With the best emulsion, on the automatic, I've printed thousands. For thousands you have to set up ink in smaller pots of ink in stages adding to when you start to run out of ink to keep it from drying out too much.

@20vK

Water based ink is a headache, but I agree with the other person commenting - printing with WB is totally different from plastisol. Everything has to be prepared and ready. Professional WB ink and leave your screens flooded. Also, with WB ink, you should be adding loads more to your screen. Also, a mister, to rehydrate ink in the screen as you print. First time I printed WB, I had major panics and headaches, but it gave me some incredible end results, so I stuck with it.

The ink dries up very fast and the ink does stick to the screen causing me to have to wash my screen every 3prints cause the ink dries and messes up my print causing it to look like it's a vintage type of print with pieces of my image not printing right

@MasterAAronkid

@@tanstewie5853 ive been using speedball for years as a hobbyist. What i do is pour water into the ink before I print. I mix up the water and get a nice consistency. @charlottedodd467
@charlottedodd467 3 года назад
@@KingPrint no it doesn't "always clog" you just aren't using it as you should. You are using the water based in this video with the same discretion you would with plastisol. You didn't flood your screen between prints like you should always do with WB and you also didn't use nearly as much ink as you should. And if we are really being honest here you used Speedball which is cheap shitty ink for your comparison. That being said if you use professional brand WB ink, ryonet being one of them that sells high end WB , flood your screen and use it as directed you would achieve much better results.

@@sarahdickens4894 wb ink is the one the goes into the shirt and gives a soft feel. Not very opaque though, at least not in my limited experience with wb. Plastisol you can use a heat gun then use your heat press to cure it. If screen printing it is too much work, you can send your design to someone and they can screen print a plastisol transfer onto a sheet for you and you can just put it on the garment and heat press it. So they are printing it and flash dry/heat gunning it for you so it's tacky but not cured and when you get it you put it on your Garment and cure it with the heat press. Conveyor dryer is more convenient but that's when you are totally into the business and then it'll be a good investment but a flash dryer or heat gun with a heat press will work for small projects
