Waylon is my link to my grandpa. He used to blast this while we plowed fields. He convinced me till I was 13 that this was him and he changed his name from waylon to hack (haskel) to so the women would leave him alone long enough so he could farm.
Nothing better to have Pete 389 set at 75 on cruise and this song cranking over 2500 watts of pure Waylon watching sun going down both windows down savoring a nice Marlboro
Yeah, clearly not a virtuoso, but criminally underrated as a guitarist. His style was to deliberately stay in the background. Like he's just Waylon's guitar player, there to make the real stars - Waylon and the song he's singing# - look good.
Yes Linda so very true!!!!! Waylon was 4 real the original best Country outlaw of our time. What a badass, a true inspiration that was 4 real and wasn't afraid to show cuz thts how Waylon Jennings rolled. His voice and him being one of the best guitar pickers of our time will always be in our hearts and minds because thse songs he wrote, recorded and sang were about what he lived that connected him and relate with his fans. His very hot looks, his voice and him picking his guitar we will always remember. We sure miss Waylon!!!!!
Today Burt Reynolds passed away,I"ll never forget in "Smokey and the Bandit",when he asked Sally Fields,"do you know who Waylon Jennings is"? It was a little test for her to see if the 2 of them would be compatable.
Hey Chocodile , who are you trying to hide from , and why, cause I for one 1⃣ am more than just a little bit sure that Waylon wouldn't have been impressed with your comments just cause you're using such an obviously bogus alias , and , would wonder why you are obviously trying to hide the fact that you are supposedly , a Waylon Jennings fan , from I for one 1⃣ am a proud baby boomer , and, Waylon Jennings fan who was born in 1950 and have been a fan since I was a young kid just like I've been a big fan of Willie, Johnny , Kris, and Merle , before they all became became the Highwaymen , and I'm thinking 💭 that 🚱 of them would have been impressed with this Millennials " New and improved " style of communication 😊😅😮😢😂❤😂😊❤😊❤
This reminds me of my youth. My mom and stepdad used to listen to Waylon on the 8-track in our Lincoln Continental Mark 5. Those were good times. Waylon is gone 20 years already. His music is very much alive.
1976, I heard Waylon for the first time because I was just a teenager out in the country and my sister came home in her VW beetle and it had an eight track tape, Waylon Live, and I pushed it in, and I was astonished and a fan forever more. Hardly a day goes by I don’t listen to a lot of Waylon and pretty much only Waylon, Here in the year 2023.
I named my daughter Amanda after hearing Waylon's song which was 30 years ago. My boyfriend and I just broke up and I returned to Waylon's songs to help me get through it and I love his music even more today. Thanks to RU-vid, I can hear a lot that I didn't before! RIP Waylon, you will live forever!
Hello 👋 Joanne. How are you doing? Hope you're fine. I'm Zack Hudson and am from Denver Colorado. Where are you from? You seem like a real country girl
He sure was w/out a doubt. Seen him on david letterman years ago. Letterman asked him "what do you call your music"? Waylon replied "Waylon's music" Never be anothet one like him. Miss ya Waylon
Man Waylon was the epitome of cool! I really enjoy this stuff such a great voice! I love my Classic Rock and Hard Rock but there's just something about this old Whiskey Drinking but Kickin country western!R.I.P Waylon!
I am mostly a Rock fan but I Love this crazy man .I just love him his music .This world lost one of its best Rymer and singer of songs . It doesn't hurt he was the best looking SOB to come out of The country scene I only regret I was to young to see him.
I have loved Wayllon since I discovered him in the late 70s! He's the man, miss you Wayllon! One day I will meet you in Paradise!!! Dixie Lee Hendricks
How Awesome is this. I saw the Highwaymen in 92 when I was 21 Waylon left a big impression on me that won’t ever go away. Absolute Legend Waylon Jennings well never see his like again✌️
Waylon, my music hero. Outlaw music was not the same without Waylon. We miss you Waylon. I sing and play guitar and ALWAYS include several Waylon songs in my list. THE LEDGEND WIKK NEVER DIE.
The coolness level of this is off the charts! what a trip this song and a legit boss this guy. I see now where the character from red dead redemption comes from, it's Waylon Jennings! Lead the way mr Waylon!
I KNOW The FEELING ....I've Been To See Johnny and June Carter Cash and The whole Carter Families Final Resting Place !! Left JOHNNY and JUNE a GUITAR Pick each, on their Headstones and SAT on their Bench Just to Sit, Relax, Think and Reminisce about * All The Great Times & Memories * They Gave Us !!! They were the BEST.... JOHNNY & JUNE & WAYLON & WILLIE ....Will NEVER be Forgotten !!
Have this on a DVD complication. One of few discs I've kept out of hundreds I've owned. Up close and personal performances like this don't usually have the best sound but reveal true character. A priceless piece of history.
Clyde Waylon Jennings fought hard to get to be the legend that he is.there is barely a day that goes by that I don't listen to his music. If you really listen to it you can understand what he had to go through too get to the top.
Waylon was the greatest all other artists were just trying for second place!!! Damn he made that guitar picking look so easy. Thanks for posting this video.
We all have r favorite singer mine was waylon my mother she was in love with George Jones my grandmother loved Willie Nelson my second best is hank jr,as like rock n roll let's have country music live 4 ever ...
Kinda like some of the videos I've seen of black sabbath concerts where Ozzie would sometimes forget the lyrics to some of the songs they sing. He just simply makes up new lyrics.
I’ve seen videos of Stevie Ray Vaughan where he messed up on the words. Like Waylon, he had years of seasoning in the clubs paying the dues. Someone who has only won a talent show would stress out and crumble at a stage mishap like that or a broken string.
I love it, what a presence on the stage. Must have been high as hell to stumble on the lyrics and then completely forget what song he was doing, but them sounds, Damn!!! This was real..
I walk around with three or four hundred songs in my head. That's true of any singer. He just forgot the damn words. It always happens again, and it's always a surprise.
Same thing I thought! 😂 Still killed it, after literally killing it! What a performer! Guys like old Waylon are still out there. Just not gonna hear them on the radio! Gotta keep yer ear to the ground to find them, but they’re out there!
This is one performer I regret so very much that I never had the opportunity to see him in concert he was one of a kind it a true warrior and country music
Waylon is the MAN that the so called country boys can learn a thing or to from because what is being called country today has no soul and no grit to it. WAYLON JENNINGS WIll ALWAYS BE THE BIG HOSS loveyou Waylon
exactly why this man is my idol and inspiration to make music......... Rest in Peace Mr.Jennings i hope to meet you in the heavens one day along with Mr.Mooney.
