I hate to say it, but there just isn’t any music sounding THIS GOOD coming out of Nashville today. Not even close. Waylon was truly one-of-a-kind, and this song proves it!
Why should you HATE to tell the truth. Hickhop is what it is. I appreciate that we have such a huge history of the great ones, and the technology to bring them back to us when we ask.
Now , this is what Country Music is....not the pop "country crap" today. Waylon was always one of a kind. Thank God we can still listen to his music. And a great song by Billy Joe Shaver.
Waylon loved his music watch him when he picks his guitar he rocks to his music now there a real performer that loves his music and to perform for us thanks Mr Waylon Jennings for your great songs that everybody loves sure miss your style Thank you Hoss
Been watching and listening to Waylon all day to commemorate 20 years today since his passing. Hard to believe. But I listen to him EVERY day, pretty much. Such a voice! I love this song and video. Thanks for sharing it!
Yeah pretty sure billy joe talked Waylon into it the old fashioned way. Was fixin to kick his ass lol. Men are cut from a softer cloth nowadays. Just don’t make em like they used to
There are not many artists out there who sound better live than on their studio albums. Waylon is one of them. I've never had the opportunity to see him live, couldn't even buy his records in Germany. All there was was a crackly reception of AFN (American Forces Network) and a record with just one of his songs which I purchased in London and carried with me in my backpack through Britain, Ireland and France before returning home. Thank you everyone for posting his performances. I'm really enjoying being able to see and hear him perform.
Mr.Waylon Thank You for your gift and your talent… You will be Forever Loved and missed by everyone that hears and listens to your music… Just One of Your many fans who was introduced to your Music and quickly became a fan of Your Great Gift and Talent…Thanks for being One of The Great Heroes to many who listen to your Music 🎶

From one five and dimer to another. This song when I sing to anyone who knows me thinks I wrote it. I take that as the greatest compliment. I am a true five and dimer.
Why do I never tire of this guy? Cause he's freak'n awesome! To hell with all the pasteurised Nashville crap of today. Gimmie those old Waylon & Willie tunes . Thanks for posting Jessi.
Thanks Waylon for all the great music! You did it your way! Rest In Peace in Arizona my fellow Texan! I'm and old five and dimer my self! Met Billy joe shaver got to sit down and talk a while with him! As I left told Billy joe shaver I'm just and old five and dimer myself! You should have seen the smile on his face! I'll never forget it!
His voice is simply incredible and so sincere. He really means it. He put heart and soul in all of his songs. He could cover a song and do it better than its original artist, he did “Delta Dawn” better than Tanya Tucker and never released it as a single, that’s the only reason she won an award for that song, (what a gentleman)☺️, the same goes for “Sweet Caroline”,his version is the best you’ll ever hear, better than Neil Diamond and anyone who’s ever attempted at singing it. And the guitar picking well we’ll not go there cause nothing compares.
if i had a choice to listen to Elvis, or Waylon, or anyone else...... it would be Waylon hands down, for none can compare this man, in style in voice, mannerism , or heart....... for he touches my very soul...............
Jennifer Snyder yeah it's like if you could only pick one for the rest of your life, it'd have to be older country music! I dig the old country and 70's, 80's, 90's rock, like Bob Seger, Allman Brother's and stuff but if I could only pick one, it'd be the older country genre.
Been listening to Waylon since the late 60's. Knew this guy would be a hit. So sexy. That smile gets you. Jessi & Waylon are beautiful people. RIP. Taken too soon.
He could sing nursery rymes and give them weight. Simply a perfect combo of talent, (understatement!) , sincerity, material, and that "it" factor. New country has so many critics because it is simply too slick and artifical. Everyone is "trying" to be an outlaw. Waylon was called an outlaw by those seeing his actions ( doing it his way) not because he chose it as a genre. He always resented the outlaw thing and even said " people seem to forget I'm a musican " that's why he is so respected. He hated posers and the way country has gone he again would be "fightin the system". Every year after his passing his legend, impact, and legacy just continue to grow....I miss him!
Agree with Arlene below.....Waylon is the best voice ever. Been listening to him for over 40 years and still do every day. Miss him terribly. R.I.P. Hoss.

He was a story teller, his singing voice was to die for, rough around the edges, in his music I could always relate to some of the words. He sang with passion.
Tom T. Hall wrote it and put it out years ago...Alot of Artists don't always sing their hits, they include songs they just like to hear...Thats what sepperates a lot of singers...They sing from the heart, and have a need just to sing songs like this to get something off their chests....
He’s not wasted, he just needed hair oil and a few hours of sleep, but Waylon hated sleep, he simply wanted to stay awake, and never wanted to miss a thing.
I bought a Waylon shirt in 2019 to wear to Waylon’s grave in Chandler Arizona and ended up getting pneumonia in Arizona before I could get to visit. So close!
