Part of CMLC’s 15-year anniversary celebrations, Ways of Working is an in-person story series that takes viewers inside the organization to learn first-hand from its team members what makes CMLC tick and why its downtown redevelopment efforts have been so successful.
Through nine videos, we’re showing Calgarians how CMLC’s diverse people complement one another and empower the organization to deliver on its bold city-building mandate.
In this eighth video in our Ways of Working series, Georgette McGrath-Jukic and James Logan share how the CMLC team delivers critical infrastructure connectors in the Rivers District.
Whether we’re adding new roads, replacing a bridge or building a public plaza, we know it’s crucial to consider how people get around-today and in the future. Each infrastructure project offers opportunities to cultivate and a community that is more livable. The critical connectors we’ve built in East Village prove how meaningfully this infrastructure influences the way people experience a place - the 4th Street Underpass, Jack& Jean Leslie RiverWalk, and George C. King Bridge, to name a few. Now, with the 17 Avenue S.E. Extension and Victoria Park/Stampede Station Rebuild project underway, and the redevelopment of Stampede Trail to begin later this year, we’re bringing that same attention to connection and mobility to The Culture + Entertainment District.
From the big, exciting landmark buildings to parks, sidewalks and bike paths, CMLC’s team effort boosts the value, intrigue and allure of downtown Calgary’s east end. Building a community with so much to offer is something all Calgarians can be proud of.
