Great video, Ben. I called an old mate today just to see how he was. He’d found out one of his great friends had died and he was distraught. I wanted to pick him up there and then, but he couldn’t come home with me, so we talked and ended up laughing. He’s coming to my place for a few weeks soon . Most of all he’s feeling better. Respect for putting this out there, stay strong ( and happy)

It's Ok not to be Ok. Pick up the phone and talk to someone. I did and found it helped me with my MH issues. Nobody judged me and if anything I earned alot of respect from my loved ones. Ben, thank you for raising this very important topic on your amazing channel, we all need to look out for one another. Say, have you watched the Norwich City football advert for MH. Absolutely nailed on mate. Losing someone to their demons is utterly horrific, it should't be happening. Well done for releasing this video, after your concerns about it the last time you spoke to us, MH is massive. A little over 100 years ago soldiers showing signs of PTSD were branded as cowards and shot by their own country. Thankfully progress has been made since, but we've still got so very far to go. What you have created with your youtube channel is a great number of people you help in more ways than you will ever know. A large amount of these strangers would help you in a heartbeat. Mate, you’re spot on. It’s so hard to actually take the time and sit there to honestly answer the question. “Are you okay?” Because yeah generally the answer is - “I’m okay. I’ll deal with it. I’ll be fine. I’ll sort all the shit out eventually.” But it’s fecking hard to keep it up all the time. We need a good rant now and again. We need to go on the piss and have a vent and be honest with each other and we’ll see we’re all in it together.

This resonates mate. I was drinking a lot, like every day. Ended up brewing my own, which I was good at! Made the choice to stop. Completely. And it literally changed my life. I was masking unhappiness with the drink and it wasn’t good. Not had a drink in nearly 7 years now and not missed it once. By stopping it forced me to address the reasons I was drinking. Which turned out to be nothing really, but the cycle of drinking and resenting made them so much worse in my head. Obviously I dropped a load of weight and at 44, am the fittest I’ve probably ever been. My kids think I’m great and I’m present 100% in their lives, which I wasn’t when I was drinking. I’m also an advocate of calling it Mind Health, there is a stigma to Mental Health and the word Mental is off putting to many. Let’s talk about Mind Health. Great video. Look after yourself Ben, then you can be there to better help others. Keep that chin up. Stay safe.

Nice one Ben, don’t know if you recall but we worked together at Cosford, I’m a paramedic now and I can testify to the fact that mental health is massively overlooked! I see it in the patients I see but also so much in my colleagues it’s scary. Glad the channel is doing well mate, keep it up 👍🏻

Its from the heart and inspirational talk from you, but everything youve said, its true, i contact my friends regularly and I know when something just isn't right, they keeping something quiet, eventually they tell me and I help them as much as I can and get them through whatever they going through. They know they are not alone and at least someone is there for them to speak or visit too, just someone even just to talk too. Thats what its all about, being able to rely and able to speak to a friend, family, etc about issues or problems and realise they don't need to think they are all alone to deal with whatever is troubling them and to someone there to help. You're absolutely spot on. Thanks for taking this topic to the front so bluntly. You have highlighted one problem that is somehow ignored, binge drinking. Social media pushes us to thing that being always happy, with loads of friends around us, travelling in luxury to exotic places, owning a big car, the latest smartphone, and boozing up are signs of happiness, with booze being the easiest of them all. We live our lives like robots, copying what we see, without knowing what we want. I have friend who over time became an alcoholic, but one day was lucky enough to reach the hospital with 15 minutes to spare. A minute later he wouldn't be with us today. He's changed his life now, and he can no longer drink, but is a much happier person than he was before. As in your case, the first step is acknowledging that we have a drinking problem, and that drinking will not help with our mental health.

Ffs sake, I'm 60, reasonably comfortable, ohc, bored shitless, feel like home is a prison, and shitloads more. Life has not become what my dreams were. Lovely garage find Lotus in my garage, 2011 c4 out back I done easy stuff, but hit a mental block now ffs what's next.

Ben, there is a story behind every guy. For some its quite complicated. I am new to your videos but I like your humor, silly voices and the sticky situations you come across. Hello Ben, I watch your videos and this one hits me a lot. I have recently created a clothing brand around mental health. In the future to create services to people, personalised to their needs and what help they want and need. I’m also planning for the near future to buy a T Cab and have it airbrushed in my logo (will be revamped) and I will be going to all UK truck shows and events to show and to educate people what mental health is really about and the stigma around it. My slogan is Tearing down stigma and ignite conversations. I believe together we can achieve just that! Much love mate and you are not alone! 💚

Spot on Ben. The bit about men talking to women(strangers) is true. Men opening doors for women. MH in mens circles for a lot of men its hard thing to discuss. A chap in work is struggling with MH and in a team meeting he just came out with it to 15ish other people and said he was struggling. Hats off to the chap for saying he had an issue. Between me and a mate and my team leader we knew and keep talking to him to make sure he is well. But to say so in a team meeting were possibly not every one respects his skills/him again hats off to him. We do have MH first aiders in work and access to occy health and also a employee contacts line if needed. Well done Ben.

Honestly believe life is about heing content, being happy is a never ending chase. Its a self defeating game because you either achieve what you wanted and get a couple of days of "oh yeah am so happy i achieved x".. but that celebration ends and x becomes normal so you start chasing y. Every time you're chasing a new happy moment you're reminded that you don't have it yet. Years some people chase a singular moment of happiness only for it to be over in a week. If you fail to reach it you're even worse because it becomes unobtainable. Shift your perspective, stop chasing "happiness" and start living. You'll appreciate those moments of unforced happiness

Very very wise words, said from the heart, and respect for admitted the drink had become an issue I hit a dark space, even into the blackness with no return, thankfully someone made that call, and pulled me back from the brink. But remember, it’s not just others that might need to reach out, so if YOU ever need that person to talk to, sit and talk complete bollox, to just reach out, sure the unreliable t5 will make it to Lincolnshire - hell we could even sort ya office out, Aprils a quiet month work wise 😂

The feeling is mutual mate.I’ve been one to keep to myself especially when it’s personal matters. I’ve opened up to a few people that I consider friends and found out they have been going through a similar situation and it helped to get some off my chest sometimes even a pure stranger. Nice post Ben, I think everyone’s got their own issues going on whatever that might be and I can’t put my finger on what’s happened over the past few years, maybe a mix of post Covid, cost of living, social media?? I don’t know, but that social interaction is definitely reducing. I’m the biggest perpetrator of keeping things to myself and I think thats to try and not burden anyone else because they’ve got their own problems or thinking that everyone else has got their shit together and it’s just me worrying about stuff, but thats where we as men need to break the cycle and just talk more, but more important, listen. Keep the chat going buddy!

Great video Ben. Trouble is men think they have to be strong to protect others around them, this is what we have been brought up to do. I was very low after loosing my job and I suppose I still feel useless even today because I was brought up in a way that I had to be a provider for my future family and after loosing my job it makes you think you have failed. I suppose I'm lucky I'm still here alive and kicking but the useless feeling is still there but one day I will come through it don't know when but will keep fighting on the best I can. Thanks for the great content you provide it helps, THANK YOU.

I went through some horrible mental struggles last year, I remember telling myself if it gets to bad I’ll call the helpline numbers that kept appearing on tv on adverts and stuff, so one night I was struggling so bad I called the number what a load of shite, they didn’t help at all and I felt so bad my only helpline didn’t help me at all I had some woman on the phone who didn’t understand anything so I told a mate then told my mrs, and my mates and mrs helped me so much I’m better now still struggle but my mates and Mrs knowing how I felt just took that extra weight off my shoulders that stopped me doing something stupid

brilliantly presented as usual , this government hate normal people they are part of the problem , it's like having parents or teachers that don't like you ,it's demoralising and drags you down . Knowing other people care as do helps all who watch you .

As an x recovery driver I love watching you pull them out of trouble👍👍 1 thing about recovery work fella is your there for a breakdown that's not just the vehicle that as the breakdown and because your the 1 there that helps relieve that stress of breaking down you give people that little support and that gives them a little confidence in you (as a good man) so we open up a little more because your there to help recover.... Thats 1 reason I miss recovery work and why I like your channel so much... Respect to sir😉

Great video Ben proud and pleased your talking about this as yes we men and everyone for that don't talk to each other we bottle it up and then we do some irreversible damage to ourselves or friends. Speak Phone a friend a family member go round there house for drink a 5 min chat we all need it even when we say we don't. I've been through a hell of a life so far I have a big story that I never at the time had help with I went through the hard way with no one from life's lowest moments. But I learned a lot and now I try to help others with advise and sign's that I learned from my journey to aid them to pick themselves up and work through there issues. If I can help a handful of people and save them from the worst that's a great thing.
