We finally upgraded from our FreeSolo DIN. We bought a used 2018 Grand Design Reflection 150 Series 230RL. In this video we give a tour and discuss why we chose this floor plan. Hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching.

Love this model! Congratulations on the upgrade!! The only thing I would like differently is a rack and pinion slide instead of the schwintech.

I agree. I was trying to find a rig without the schwintech slides but couldn't find anything we like in our price range other than this.

First time watching. We have 33ft KZ280TH. (Toy Hauler). Carry my motorcycle. We love it. Cushions? Do it yourself. TV move the dining to the slide out and theater chairs. If refrigerator fails get the 12 Volt. If AC fails get 12 Volt AC. Yes 12 Volt. Inspect the frame and suspension. Use WD40 or other cleaner lube and spray all suspension parts springs. As for pen box. Bolt it so it will not move. You have a great BW hitch. (I use BW) pivot turn point is safer and better over the rear axle.

We already plan on doing the cushions ourselves. Talked about reorganizing what chairs are in what positions but we want to leave the dinette as is. It is the most comfortable dinette we have used in a camper so we are going to leave it as is. The plan will be to do the 12 volt fridge later.

You may be able to pull the two recliners forward and unhook the arm rest to remove it, then hook the two chairs together to make a love seat. I can do that with mine. Also, you can buy a staple gun, fabric and plywood and recover your cushions without removing the current fabric. There are videos on RU-vid. Good luck with your new rig!!!

Yup, already did that with the chairs. Much better now! We looked into going over the currentt cushions but don’t want the plywood underneath. Plus the rounded corners make it trickier. So we just want to order new foam and do it all new.

40 in. Sony Bravia is a great TV. I have one I've had many years and is now in the spare bedroom as I bought a 55 in. Sony Bravia. You won't be unhappy with it. Lighter colors of paint make a small place seam bigger. I fulltimed in a 30 ft. for several years but still kept my home in Florida. I was chasing work as a Union Electrician out of Local 915. Nice RV, it should serve you well. Those Grand Designs are nice!

Yeah the Bravia's are nice. But they don't make the 40" anymore. There has only been a few 40" tvs I have found that I like. And they cost way more than I can justify spending for the camper!

we have the 2020 reflection 260RD we bought in march of 23 (love it) very similar to yours (swap dining and chair positions) and i was wondering about the winter limitations. thank you for answering some. love the green pyrex bowl in the upper cabinet. next season will be our 2nd with the 5th wheel and we're still learning how to pack it right. we may have to go to labeled totes and a rear large cargo hitch carrier. the pass through gets so messy. I enjoy your videos and love the dog. we have 14 cats and one rabbit. (at the house)

We had searched for the 260RD as well. It has a better tv viewing/family area. The 230RL has a much better eating area. Like always, these RV floor plans are all about trade-offs. Compared to a travel trailer the pass through storage is great, but I do get jealous when I see how much room some of these larger fifth wheels at the campground have.

Congrats on the new camper, you will be a LOT more comfortable as full timers. I think it is great that you get good deals on used things and then work as a team to make it your own. It is the best way to do it. Merry Christmas and the best of luck finding land. We are in middle Tennessee and love it.

Thanks! We love Tennessee. The original plan was to buy land there, but since the secret got out the last few years. Now prices have just gotten to high for us to find what we want. We still keep looking though and hoping.

Just not using our trailer enough to make $ sense, so renting now, all bumper hitch. But my tow vehicle a Nissan Titan XD and WAY more capable than my previous 1/2 ton, pulling these 6-7K lb trailers effortlessly. Since the 6.5 ft bed set up for this, if my wife and I jump back in, thinking a smaller used 5th wheel (30 ft max) will be a good fit if I can find such. Thanks for the video!

I was originally looking at the 260RD and 295RL. Couldn’t find any within 500 miles though. We liked the 260RD tv position better but the dinette was not as comfortable as the 230RL. The only knock on the 230RL is no bathroom access with the slide in. But that’s not a huge deal for us. The price was right and we have really enjoyed the rig so far.

Rainbow variety has great prices on new cushions. They are just north of Indy. You would just have to check with them on the cushions but I’ve bought a lot of RV supplies there. Also Bontrager’s surplus has good prices on RV couches, but there up by Elkhart just In Michigan. Jeff would like both places for his RV repairs.

It is not double pane windows which is fine with me. They give almost no extra thermal insulation. It does have Grand Designs 4-season package. So it depends on what you are defining as four season worthy. We have camped with temps in the upper 20’s a few times with it now and had no issues.
