In this video we get a new key made for our Range Rover P38. As you can see the product and service was excellent See below link to the company we used ( we have no connection to the company ) www.remotekey.co.uk/shop/rang...
It is interesting to see the potential for old electronics to becoming a real problem as time passes and spare parts get difficult. Your key man looks like he will be busy for years to come! 😬😃😃😃Richard.
@@L663 Tennessee hopefully! 1st place we ended up losing sadly! Have a plan B much smaller acreage but building's etc need zero work. Plus a potential income xtra 2 bed house.
@@ecossearthur Hope it all works out in the end.... it normally does ! Whats the market like in the US - its pretty slow in the UK now with the interest rates etc... its not in a massive dip with prices falling - just slow !
I don't believe P38 keys have a transponder, at least not like you find in newer cars that have keyless entry. If there was a transponder you wouldn't have press the lock and unlock buttons to transmit a signal to the car. Bit of a pain having one key for the ignition and one for the driver's door. If you ever need to enter the EKA you will need that door key. I sold a P38 to a fellow without a working fob. Even before he picked up the car he asked me to send him the VIN and two close up photos of the key blade. He emailed these to Les Edwards at Classic Rides and two weeks later had a working fob delivered to British Columbia.
There is talk of some ability to charge the coin cell battery while the key is in the ignition however I bet the car would start if only the key was used without the fob section. I should have tried that when I had my fob apart.
It's better than paying JLR for a new P38 key, it cost me about £430 back in 2022! I was completely without a working key so I couldn't send one off to the p38 key copy guys unfortunately!
@@L663 I just have got in just in time then! I had to wait about a month for them to get it in stock and sync it to the car... I was putting the EKA code into the door every day while I waited! I'll get a second key made at some point
