This was just frustrating to watch, advanced levels of torpedoing and spiraling. The blood pool encounter was stretching the level of unhingedness, but they didn't calm down and decided to go even more insane. Pchal was the only one with a cool head the whole session, and all he got to do was facepalm.
100 agree. Part of this is that Mouton is both kind of casual with any decision and kind of flip as a player. He seems not to care and whatever is fine. He’s also a kind of dipshit glory hound, ‘when I’m king and own the world….’ I mean let;s make sense, do something of value. This was a shit show.
Yeah, selling themselves out randomly to some actual murder hobos was so random XDD we I just didn't understand what they had to gain from some random bozos
This episode felt so strange. It felt like everyone was just in a trolling mood during this session or something. At one moment, they are discussing if they should kill the Orc Captain of Supply, and Nick says "I don't think we should kill someone just because somebody asked us to do it. When did we decide that we were against the Empire anyways?" A good argument to avoid random murder. And then 5 minutes later they are meaninglessly ambushing a random carriage like common bandits? No real motive, they just kind of.. randomly decided it was something that needed to be attacked. At least killing the Orc Captain would have had some understandable motive behind it. This felt like just completely random murderhoboing. I could expect something like this from Mouton, knowing his previous D&D playthroughs. But i honestly am surprised that even Potato and Nick just went along without even questioning it at all. I had a similar experience like this in my last campaign i played with some friends, and it ended up with me leaving the campaign over it. Why was the party suddenly aggressive against a random nondescript noble family carriage? Who knows. The problem here isn't even that they did "something bad". It just felt really out of character for the party to just suddenly become bandits when mostly they have been attempting to be pretty good-hearted for the most part lately. Is this the type of man Renatus is supposed to be? A man whose story is seemingly supposed to be about recovering his lost love, is apparently just a random bandit murderer instead of a romantic noble. Is this the type of King that Auguste wants to be? Someone willing to just steal from a family who is potentially completely innocent? Is this the type of "Beauty and Chivalry" that he says he wants to teach to Stacy? PChal was the only one here playing with some integrity today. I applaud him.
ngl this episode was quite annoying at the end. Party turns into murderhobos for no reason at all. What happened with August saying he will teach Stacy the values of chivalry and doing everything proper in front of her? I am extremely disappointed in everyone except Graw. I'm not even excited for the next episode. I just wish this entire episode would be completely retconned and redone. Everyone played out of character as if they completely forgot who they are and what they were doing. I was really excited to see Stacy turn into a valiant knight, Mout is the one who disappointed me the most
I don't want them to retcon it. I want them to live with the consequences of their actions for once in this campaign. I also want them to win Stacy and the others back to their side after actually doing something decent.
@@kindtaeto no matter what they do to try and redeem themselves i don't think they can ever get Stacy and the others back after what they did unless they retcon some of it. I feel it would be too out of character for the npcs to stay
Yah I'm not usually a critic but usually each episode has a major arc and this one felt devoid of any major goals, and so the party got trolled after the 3rd random counter... Maybe they felt like they needed some sort of actual action to take place? It just felt very out of character for them to go the way they did. If anything they needed to slow it down, a lot happened that probably wouldn't have happened at all. When neal said the caravan passed while they were all still talking probably should have been the signal to move on.
@@joosthartog1333 I think the environment is also to blame to some degree. The entire session the players have not seen the tokens of their full entourage and it's possible they forgot that they are being watched and judged by their companions. I feel like in real life it would be less likely for this to happen because you can see the faces of the people around you and they will hold you accountable for your actions. In an episode like this where you just talk with no physical representation of your surroundings it is easy to forget and be swept away.
This "human time" was weird and unhinged. They better get massive consequences for it. You can't just randomly decide to not think of your character, goals and the world and go murder hobo in a serious campaign.
This episode's conclusion was a big twist and turn of events that I was not expecting. But the way Neal looked into the camera right and the end and said "Good Game" was chilling after all of that.
I wish this last encounter is redconed as a though experiment. With the party arguing about what their goals are and what would happen if we do this, kinda thing.
1:01:45 My favorite part about kobiu’s DnD is how sometimes other episodes effect others it’s always super cool when it’s done and referenced in another campaign
I was kind of excited to be caught up with this campaign again, but now I'm not sure if I'm watching another episode. And they call themselves "professionals". What a joke.
I've never seen one person be both the best roleplayer in the party and the most hair trigger murder hobo. Very sad, I feel like the party is like 75% of the way to putting out a really good product. =/
i think mouton and potato dont care about the consequences and just do w/e they want. dunno why nick also suggested attacking that caravan. this is all just a mess.
I think everyone mightve played off of each other's sillyness a bit too much. I feel like the reason Nick attacked the cart is because just before that he had the realization that apparently they are working with empire of voraci haters, and they semi agreed to murder a Voraci guard general/captain. everything just slowly escalated to being out of control, but it was still very fun/funny to watch
Yeah. I agree with everyone in the comments. I don't know why, but it seems that every time the party is left to their own devices shit hits the fan. I know everyone wanted a "sandbox" game, especially since the last campaign was extremely linear, but this is what happens. Half the episode is spent trying to figure out what to do with your crew, all for nothing in the end. There's is soooo much discussion about everything you guys do, but this time it's just "want to see something cool" and afterwards everyone is standing there like spider man point fingers. There were two story-based quests handed to you and instead after all this talking, it's robbing a cart? Why did you not want to deal with the orc? I really don't see why your characters would have such a hang up about killing him, you've been playing both sides. *Shrugs* So many shrugs. That's this episode. It seems like everyone except pchal completely forgot what campaign they were in. They better not retcon it. They already got a go to jail for a year card, deal with it. The party always seems to treat NPCs so inconsequentialy or like complete morons, especially mout, when it's the party that's mostly acting like morons. I don't get it sometimes. That blood pool encounter was asinine too. The party was acting like they didn't know what to do with it. I wish they did just fast travel to talk to Zara about the loadstone. I don't know why you had such an issue with ToD and the sailing mechanic, it was perfect. Better than whatever just happened. Everyone has to let Koibu lead you guys along for a bit I think. A little but of levels went to your head. Can't wait to see what happens. Good luck.
No problem killing a maybe voraci noble but have issues with killing a voraci orc? Mout gives away practically everything about you guys to those rebels but Nick is like "why do we want to do this for three random guys" idk why the hell did you tell them your life story then? Potato dabbing and ready to kill everyone. Most disappointed in him. Everyone just seemed bored with it. Maybe you guys should meta game behind the scenes a little bit before an episode to get your heads straight. You're obviously meandering around at this point or at least that's how it looks.
think the players got a bit too held up in the idea of some grand campaign and fleshing out NPCs when they can barely flesh out their own characters yet. not saying thats bad or that they shouldn't be playing, I like watching them develop as roleplayers. But it seems like mout and potato particularly have this grand narrative in mind when they should be focusing much more on how to make the more minimilistic RP parts feel well acted and important
like there are other ways to end the campaign. This either needs retconning or idk how many prison time skips we get in 1 campaign for some consistency
Well done guys! Masterful roleplaying and sticking to your character ideals! I can’t wait to see the further development of Mout and Potato’s characters! Vantis people fucking suck
It can be fun if a campaign works up to a more "evil" party but i think killing the noble family seemed a bit too out of character for me (stealing was fine). Feels there was no real goal in this session. Still amazing campaign, looking forward to the next episode!
The ending of this episode felt kinda pathetic. No one seing sense except for grau. Just a bunch of people to proud to accept that they fucked up and trying to shift the blame. I also feel like it was a huge disconnect with the viewers interpretation of the party and their moral guidelines and the players interpretation. Before this episode i would not think in a hundred years that this party would ever kill a whole family of nobles for some insignificant amount of gold. I really hope nick was having a really shit day or some other exuce because i feel like he as a player would know better.
Anyone else get the feeling that when Jan says "humans doing human things at human time" he really means "Americans doing American shit at MURIKA time"
Bro why does everyone instantly blame Nick, he said like 5 times he didn’t wanna do it and koibu said the caravan was already gone and Mout insisted on making the encounter happen.
