Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner and William Nylander all showed visible frustration with each other as the Toronto Maple Leafs lost Game 4 to the Boston Bruins on home ice and this video talks more about it. #hockey #nhl #torontomapleleafs
@@Shawnaldo-jh3ve Ya but the Sabres haven't been around as long as the Leafs and the Sabres have made it to the finals twice in their existence. The Leafs haven't won since 1967 when it was a six team league. In those days every team won the Stanley Cup. Just like every team in the CFL wins the Grey Cup. Buffalo stinks but I see more upside with them than I do with the Leafs at this point. BTW I like both teams, I'm just being objective.
Interested in the argument? Why should he, he’s out there with heart putting his body on the line to make plays. What do you say to the guy that left the game cause his tummy hurt and the other guys terrified to play the puck.
Toronto maple leafs players are only good in the regular season. Like Austin Mathew’s 1 goal this playoffs round is crazy. Also Mitch marner he is always invisible in the playoffs.
not even mentioning tavares. also...depth scoring??? jarnkrok, robertson, holmberg? also, scratching dewar when he was playing well instead of anyone of those guys, putting in brodie who directly messed up on the 3rd goal. putting reaves/4th line on the ice with 3 minutes to go in a game where you need two goals. smh.
Farther from the truth. Marner is basically a pt per game in his last 50 playoffs games. Its tavares that's the salary choke and it's awesome. I'd say tavares and matthews disappear more than marner and Nylander in the playoffs
I always get a kick when people say things like “the Leafs team a decade ago came back down 3-1 to force game 7”. I would love to hear this guy how that has anything to do with now. Are they the same teams with the same players ? No they aren’t. 10 years ago has nothing to do with now, absolutely nothing.
Truth.. everyone goes to work with a headache and tummy ache..sick days are for when I feel good. Let alone play a f***in ' game for a living and get compensated beyond belief.
migraines are not headaches, they're hell esp when youre staring at a bright white surface for an hour and matthews wouldve played but the doctor took him out because he has food poisoning aka shitting himself lmao
Marner is rightfully getting his criticism but why are we all so quiet on Tavares? The captain who also makes 11 mil has been absolutely no where to be found the entire series. This team needs to offload Marner this off season and start the re-tool. Then either JT signed a discount short deal at 3~ mil or he's out of town too.
Marner is a spoiled rich kid. Always told he was the best always had it easy. He folds when things get tough. That's been a story for years now. Time to go
lol...The only one that showed some talent and scored. What does that say about all the other non spoiled rich kids on the team? Just seams like everyone is mad and the leaf fans collectively spun the wheel of despair and decided to choose Marner as the escape goat. That should be on management. You can't be paying almost all your cap to a select few players and expect your "TEAM" to be good. If just one of those 11+ million players were gone, you could upgrade 4 players on another line by a +3 million each and have two or three solid lines instead of one.. But no, it's all Marner's fault....Carry on.
@@darpompie4354 Here are the takeaways... and they're mostly from LAST YEAR. Tavares contract broke us from Day 1. The Nylander signings TWICE by TWO GMs broke things further. These signings compounded a lack of defensive personnel. Mathews is not a leader.
Throw your gloves in frustration Mitch, that will help you build up confidence in your teammates. Stop looking to the officials, it’s DIFFERENT in the playoffs…
I just don’t like this guy I don’t care how good he is in the season when playoffs come around he disappears and throws tantrums. He dose not hit dose not go to the dirty areas dose not back check dose not block shots why’s he being paid 11 million dollars what dose he bring to the team other then hissy fits. It’s time for him to be shipped off. The only guy I feel for is Nylander he’s the only one that tries and the other two Tavares just needs to retire at this point and Mathews should just screw off and go live with Bieber.
@@ryans413JT doesn't need to retire lol. He's still a very good hockey player, but he isn't even close to what he once was. He's more a middle 6 guy than top line C at this point
@@Sfdjdhrh 11 mil for 1 playoff goal when the game was as good as over by then too, had he tied the game or scored when it was 2-0, maybe there's a different tune, Zach Hyman has about the same amount of goals as the entire leaf team and he's not making 10+ Brad Marchand not making 10+ and he's taking Toronto's lunch money again, these players don't play for the crest on the sweater they play for the name on the back
@@people3865if JT re-signs for 3 mill or less to be 3rd line and no captaincy I wouldn't mind , there are often times where he looks like a turtle stuck in mud
They are paying half of their salary cap to the biggest playoff chokers in the league. As they say in the NBA, none of those guys have that dog in them
Are you kidding me why would they move the biggest Canadian market to a place that just got there team removed the leafs make some of the most revenue in the league bettman hates Canada but he loves money a lot more
For a perspective, I'm 76. They last won the Cup when I was 19 - a feat almost unmatched in professional sport. This is the 5th longest losing streak in North American professional sport. How they retain this rabid following after decades of predictable under-performance astounds me.
What do u expect from a fan base that boos their team in preseason games! I love ur clip that shows the bench, with the 3 'stars' arguing, and Bertuzzi has a look on his face like, "man, i got to find a different spot on the bench!!"
Goals scored in last 11 playoffs games: 1 - 2024 R1, G4 v Boston: 3-1 Loss 2 - 2024 R1, G3 v Boston: 4-2 Loss 3 - 2024 R1, G2 @ Boston: 3-2 Win 1 - 2024 R1, G1 @ Boston: 5-1 Loss 2 - 2023 R2, G5 v Florida: 3-2 Loss 2 - 2023 R2, G4 @ Florida: 2-1 Win 2 - 2023 R2, G3 @ Florida: 3-2 Loss 2 - 2023 R2, G2 v Florida: 3-2 Loss 2 - 2023 R2, G1 v Florida: 4-2 Loss 2 - 2023 R1, G6 @ Tampa: 2-1 Win 2 - 2023 R1, G5 v Tampa: 4-2 Loss Four star forwards each making $11+ mil (when new contract kicks in next year for Nylander), and they can’t score more than 2 goals a game in the playoffs. Oh! Except that one time where they scored 3.
I just enjoy the game of hockey. Im a Oilers fan. Because it's where i live. But really i enjoy the game win or lose. I still support my team. Yeah sure it can be disappointing at times. Like it was at the start of the season. Oiler fans were righting them off. Its just a game and in the end just appreciate the entertainment.
Keefe kept saying that in order to beat a team like Boston...the team has to squeek out a win by 1 goal....that to me is not a plan...especially the Toronto Maple Leafs whose" Goals For"... this year was the top in the league. With Bragging rights for that accomplishment.....they still cant score in the playoffs with a arsenal of fire power costing the team 50 million a year in 4 players to deliver in the Playoffs. Not good enough ...Dont slam the door too hard on your way out of Toronto..Brendan & Sheldon
Reminds me of the field marshal in Blackadder: our plan to defeat the enemy is to do exactly what we've been doing the last 14 times, which also haven't worked.
Keefe is the dumbest coach in the league. He has no clue how to beat the Bruins. Should have been gone long ago. I was sure he would get canned when they brought in Guy Boucher. Treliving is complacent just like his predecessor was.
It really just comes down to effort and passion. The Bruins have it, the Leafs don’t. The Leafs think that they have so much offensive power and can rely on it when times get tough. There is some truth to that, the Leafs went into the playoffs on a losing streak wanting to get Mathews his 70th. But when you go into the playoffs on a bad note, this is what happens. I am a Leafs fan for sure, but my second favourite is the Bruins. I see them constantly building a good franchise and I see my beloved maple leafs without any proper governance.
The absolute best thing they could do just from a PR standpoint besides everything else is fire Keefe and Shanahan NOW. Don’t wait for one more loss. DO IT NOW!!!
At what the tickets cost you can’t fault the fans for booing. It was a huge game and they played like a house league team . I’ve been a Leaf fan my entire life and I will remain a Leaf fan but I can’t get invested in this team. I have seen this movie far too many times and I know it ends in heartbreak. I’m proud of Auston for his great season. It was clear he was under the weather and not himself.
Matthews claiming sickness in the 3rd pd., to evade any real culpability😅, he's the biggest problem on the Leafs team, especially considering his astronomically overpriced contract, he's a regular season player and nothing more, he wants to be a star like Bieber. He's the most annoying player in the league.
@@BeerLeagueGoalieGodfatherTotally, which is great in the regular season, but the endgame of sport is to be good in the playoffs and go far and to a championship, he fizzles out hard. Look at Draisaitl's playoff production for almost half the price, he's dominant.
@@bbutters2 and the problem is, bc hes a finisher and not really a playmaker, everyone calling to get rid of Marner had better deal AM34 right after bc without a guy like him, his numbers (and value) will plummet immediately. Its a problematic situation. Theyre both good for each other yet also have the same bad tendencies.
I think they were arguing about when their spring golf Tee Off Times should be maybe? 😀 Do we get the fun of watching this Leaf Core 4 playoff disappointments for next season & early next spring. 😀
Lyubushkin makes a lot of great offensive plays...it's surprising he's not put out there on the PP to see what can happen, but he plays very assertive with everything he does...lots of poise.
The play offs are a whole new season. Finess hockey players are targeted and the physical side of the game dominates the play. It is the time where guts and determination become the norm for winning. Officiation becomes more lenient and overlooks many plays which would draw penalties during the regular season. In short the playoffs aren`t for sissies.
after Nylander said "stop crying bro" he kept mouthing something along the lines of "thats the fkn problem with this team always crying" and Matthew's looked like he mightve been yelling at Nylander but thats just me. they all suck tho. Fire Keefe and start fixing problems all the way down the chain.
The Leafs may just have the worst playoff stars in NHL history. I mean in terms of winning %. I legit think it’s going to go down as the most unsuccessful group the NHL has ever seen.
@@lenaforsgren It was tongue in cheek. They've always been a hockey force to reckon with. If they had a little more desire they would be going toe to toe with the Canadians every game.
@@steelcom5976 😁 Glad to hear as there are actually North American fans who don’t even know that Sweden’s national team has had quite some success. 😎 I’m looking forward to next year when (basically) all players will be available for the international tournaments!
You have 4 players making roughly half your total cap. If one fails to deliver it makes it tough to win. Tavares is a shell of himself and is making 11 million so his contract alone is next to impossible to trade without keeping some of that money on the books. Hard to imagine that with the level of talent Matthews, Marner and Nylander possess that this team is in need of a rebuild, but that's where their at.
I hope they do what they always do, tie the series up and then don't even show up for game 7, just to break all the fans hearts again and again and again!
I despise the punk antics and dirty play he too often brings forth......but the guy has skill, doesn't quit, and simply performs...... and does all this at relatively low salary...
@The_Mobile_Jockey That's just not true. Lots of guys have gone undrafted, or taken in the late rounds, or told they'll never make it in the NHL. So when they do, they actually give a damn.
I actually don't have to stick with my team until the end. I've been a loyal leafs fan since '92. I owe them nothing. Let me know when they're in the Stanley Cup finals and I might care again.
Being a habs fan i thought we were the worst fans. But leaf fans have reallly run away with that moniker. Jebus they are still in it. Trust me a rebuild is lunacy.
Its too bad. The were magic together and friends. Leafs need to trade both of these stars, for a huge return. Its just not happening. Rebuild not flashy, but strong. They could win a Cup elsewhere but not happening in Toronto.
Stick with your team until the end? As a Leafs fan I would say that is a horrible fate. They always think the swedes are a good mix too. Sundin Salming Salmon and Highlander Nylander. Pick players closer to home that love the game. Seems smart.
Of the core four, I'd take Marner on my team first. Why is he the lightning rod for this team, when Tavares brings NOTHING? Matthews was only concerned with his quest for 70 goals, and Nylander is only concerned for his bank account and keeping his body bruise-free. Marner is the only one of the four who gives a $#!+.
