Small but mighty! When Blacktrac offered to lend us a demo Norcar to use on the farm, we couldn't turn down the chance to try it out. We love our tractor but sometimes you need some more muscle and this certainly gets the job done. 💪

Hi folks. As mentioned in the video, this is a demo machine on loan. We are not paid by Blacktrac or Norcar and have the machine at our expense, (insurance, fuel, attachments, etc). Therefore it means we will be able to give a real world test of the loader as we put it to work on our projects. Filming the full demo is as much for us to familiarise ourselves with the kit as it is to share with viewers, so thanks as always to Oscar for his time. 👍

Hats off to Blacktrac for their vision of hands on “advertising” (and customer support) and Norcar for their design and implementation. This is the kind of service and product that makes me wish I could be a customer.

We have a large Manitou telehandler, primarily for loading grain wagons with a 3 tonne grain bucket and its the life of the farm. That little thing lifting your fence post stack was outstanding, what a machine for such a small footprint. Looking at your farm layout and what you need that thing is your perfect machine Tim. Always keep the boom as short as possible for each job and it'll serve you well for years and years and years.

A friend of mine is running a similar machine as a groundsman on a big estate. It's crazy what they can lift. He's extracted very very large logs out of a pretty steep woodland, and it's pretty easy on the ground. There's so many attachments to, probably one of the most versatile machines out there. IMO

That is a much better machine for your application than a larger platform. You are both novice operators so having a smaller more capable machine is the right choice. With Jo getting confident operating this machine you'll be able to double team some serious work. I'd also definitely look at the fail mower attachment for the front. with the extending boom you will be able to mow the creek and pond edges more safely from a platform that can sit up on the edge of the bank and extend the mower over the edge and down the bank. A post hold knocker would be an interesting attachment, the bail grasp, as well as a small man basket for getting you to higher work areas. I'd use the hell out of this machine while you have it so you understand it limits. Take care D

Looks a good peace of kit, you can't go wrong with plenty of training, thus prevents things going wrong and accidents happening, will make light work.👍🙂

Very interesting video! Great tool for the farmyard only, moving stuff around but then again so is a skid steer -which can turn on the spot. It can't compete with doing any normal tractor work either, -as many people incorrectly seem to think here, such as towing, cultivating, ploughing and seeding. For a start, the wheels are too small for wet field work and it has no rear three point linkage.

Definitely looks like the right bit of kit around your compact farm yard. With a normal sized telehandler you'd forever be doing 20+ point turns. And are you sure your dumper truck didn't have a little flirt with the neighbours telehandler when it came to visit? As it really is a baby cross between the those two.
@gingerelvis

I honestly think that for 90% of jobs this is far more useful than a small tractor, most jobs the Norcar can't do you would be better off with a full size tractor.

I like tractors but they are a jack of all trades master of none. You will find yourself using the Norcar far more than the tractor. Tractors are not fun to use for loader work. It'll do it but it's not as easy or fast as something made to do it. With anything Hydrostatic is the way to go for speed and convenience.

Wow, over £30k, would get a top notch skid steer for that kind of money. Maybe get a demo on a JCB teliskid, a used one should be avalible for that kind of money.

When moving a pallet, you want to put just a slight back tilt on rather than keeping the forks level, this is standard practice when operating a forklift, only time you have your forks level is when you insert or remove from the pallet.
@almostanengineer
@almostanengineer 2 года назад
Oh, and a tip I was given when I was certified is ‘low and slow’, keep your load as low as possibly can, and go as slow as you need, it’s better to take 2 mins a pallet than take the racking down, not that you need to worry about bringing 10m high racking down like I do 😅
@stanley626
@stanley626 2 года назад
@@almostanengineer are you sure you have got your numbers right there 5 m maybe as 25 m would be about 7 or 8 stories high and there is no forklift or telehandler on the planet that can reach that high and certainly no racking that high.

Although it articulates to a certain degree be very careful with a machine like that. The 'roll cage' is barely sufficient (i.e highly questionable) from a safety perspective. But if its just for material handling on a concrete surface then it should be quite a convenient machine (for a price). Its perfect for a small farm really (in and around the sheds) and far exceeds the capabilities of a fork lift in your use case context.

@@adamconstable1377 I’m afraid it’s just how it is at the moment. Until this year we had multiple mics, studio speakers, editing desk. Lovely handy little thing. Just watch out with lifting heavy stuff: if you're maxing out and lifting high, then it could suddenly bend in the middle and no amount of steering will prevent that. It'll tip over very very quickly. Perhaps do some research on that
