This is my second favorite rapper (only after NF, obviously), he's an amazing rapper and person. I honestly think he took some inspiration from NF, I'm pretty sure he knows him and he listens to his music too. By the way, great artist, you should react to more songs from him.

This song is written from the perspective of his dad. He has 3 songs about his dad. This one from the perspective of his dad. “Last letter” from the perspective of himself and “reaper” from the perspective of the disease that killed his dad. It’s difficult to figure it all out yourself so here are a few facts to understand his music more. ❤️

I'm a few months late, but this is a song about his dad addiction to Oxy and alcohol, hence the name of the song combing both Oxy and Gin (His fathers drink of choice during his addiction)

Something I love about the title is it has 3 meanings that become abundantly clear after listening to the song and watching the music video. "Oxy = Oxycontin", "Gin = The alcoholic drink", "Oxygen = Something you can't live without". A lot of people initially think it's "Oxygin" because of Oxygen and Gin, but when you go deeper, you realize it also talks about his opioid abuse, and one of the common found in many statistics when it comes to abuse is Oxycontin. When I first heard this song, the Gin bit hit a little close, I have an incredibly high tolerance to alcohol, and Gin is one of the only that hits me enough. That being said, I've never abused alcohol, I've always treated it with respect, because I've known far too many that went through this.

Wow just wow I know you (Eric) and I already talked about this but this song unfortunately hits home for me Having been married to an alcoholic, I struggled with understanding why he couldn’t just stop drinking for his family but when you don’t think you have a problem, why would you? I thought losing his family would be rock bottom and he’d finally change but apparently that wasn’t enough 🤷🏻‍♀️ Maybe one day he’ll say “No More”? I hope so at least for the sake of his relationship with his kids I was NOT expecting an emotional reaction today, thanks guys lol

oh damn I legit just looked up the other day to see if you've reacted to Witt. He tends to make very creative and deep stuff. he makes concept music a lot and is an independent artist. yall should check more of his catalogue if you want, he doesn't really miss. Witt and NF share a lot of fans because they both are great at saying the things we think and feel. edit: He wasn't talking about himself, he's young and doesn't have a wife or kids, this is storytelling about a real issue which he has experienced with his dad, its loosely based around that. if you look when the kid it putting the pills back in the bottle while he's passed out it strikes a strong resemblance to witt.

I like Witt because he dives into extremely personal experiences and in my opinion poetically constructs his verses so that you do feel sad. I like nf because he goes towards the mind itself, like as though he’s actually picking his own brain apart. I think when people say “oh he’s the same as NF or Eminem” they’re not truly capable of understanding the complexity of the lyrics and so conform to the usual description of “it’s sad”. Just my opinion

So yeah, I'm not saying he's "copying" for sure, and indeed there are a lot of rappers out there that write with strong emotions, what I'm saying is that NF probably gave him more effort in doing what he's doing. Also they have two different styles, NF is more dark/deep, while Witt is a lot more direct, explicit in a way.

I’m so sad Witt didn’t get the views to justify continuing his story, his music is incredible like truly incredible.. It’s a shame his career stagnated because he couldn’t leave this channel of music successfully like NF and co did.
