My wife asked why I like reaction videos. I explained it was like having a couple of friends in the room enjoying music with me. This song and the genuine reactions made me feel I was hangin’ with a couple of close friends whose appreciation and passion for music are contagious. Thank you!
Old or new, music's to be enjoyed,on one's own or sharing the experience. The Logical Song is one of the first songs I ever bought. 7" vinyl single. April 1979. Cost me 79p. I was 14. Absolutely love it,so many great elements and that break with the sax is brilliant.
What a beautiful & thoughtful response. I’ve never considered viewing other people’s reactions as the equivalence of having a house guest. Thank you…for giving me an additional lens-in which to view the reactions of others. ❤️
I'm sorry...when Amber hears the horns and throws up her hands.... its one of the most beautiful sights I've seen in ages. Her sheer joy is angelic and so pure. She's such a treasure and I appreciate her so much for showing us the simple joys of life. God bless you both... bringing us together with music. The world is a better place because of you two!
I agree, James Starks. I knew the sax was coming but her reaction to it 'bout knocked me off my chair too. It was absolutely wonderful. The two of them are such a beautiful and fun couple.
This was 79 But do you remember Baker Street by Jerry Raferty? That came out in 1978 the late 70s had WAAAAAAY MORE THAN DISCO int the late 70s to me the late 70s was the best years for the music industry.
Crime of the Century, School, song and the Album, is a crime of the century of you don’t appreciate this album, yea Breakfast in America is awesome and it’s commercially best.
@Twila Rolff, Amber is a hoot and she, like Jay makes me smile all the time with their simple joy of discovery☺. And you're right, we tend to be all day-to-day about the music we know, which is another reason I like being here... S.W.
Supertramp reminds me of ELO, or is it ELO that reminds me of Supertramp. It doesn't really matter, they are both awesome. Progressive pop at it's best.
Since you guys like this band , you must find " Give a little bit " . Roger wrote it when he was 15 and wasn't put on one of their albums until he was 25 , a must hear love song by Supertramp .
Amber, you never need to cover your mouth! Your joy is infectious. Smile on and shine out the light! Love this band. Those were the days, my friend, we thought they'd never end. You should react to that song, Mary Hopkin - Those Were The Days.
Oh Amber....I love you so much! This was amazing! For all us old folk (61 here) I can't tell you how much joy I get from watching both of you enjoy music we grew up on!!! I was patiently waiting to see your response to the horns, Amber! You did not disappoint! Adorable!!!!
YES!! She is SOOO cute...she reminds me of my daughter....(60 here) I am with you @Shari...I LOVE watching them as a couple react to music and display what WE felt....how what WE use to look like being touched by sound like that....my favorite "Amber Reaction" was Pink Floyd "Comfortably Numb".
Can you imagine a time when Heart, Fleetwood Mac, The Doobie Brothers all had albums with banger songs flood the airways all at the same time!! It truly was a magical time to grow up in.
Yes. But every era has talent legends and mediocrity. No one mentions Air Supply Nicolette Larson, England Dan, Firefly, Anne Murray from same era. But there was some legendary music that gets sampled today.
My husband has recently become a fan, he and I just laugh and smile over the joy you two exude from our music. I told him your message about make “somebody smile everyday”…he’s hooked!! 💙💖💚🧡 you remind us a little of us when we were young…37 years and counting!!
37 and counting, HA!! You’re just babies in what one might hope is a long story. 65 here, with many to go, God willing and the creeks don’t rise;) Nobody is guaranteed tomorrow;(!
Now imagine being in high school, hanging with your friends, radio blaring, and a song like this comes on, and you're all just there, grooving out to it. I didn't appreciate it then, but I'm sure thankful now for the experience. It's the soundtrack of my past.
I am a 62 year old long haired white boy and that song was an absolute BLAST!!! Me and my gale just love to dance, party and_____ to this one FAR OUT!!!
Roger Hodgson was sent away to boarding school in England, and that's where he was taught to be logical, etc. I ws at the same school, but ten years after Supertramp. I have all their albums.
Supertramp was a machine, they put attention to details, at the end everything falls into place perfectly, the deep meaningful lyrics, music and arrangements.
It is, but when you listen to "Crime of the Century" and "Even in the Quietest Moments", they're at a whole different level. But they're not "upbeat" like "Breakfast in America", and maybe that's why they're less popular, even though they're far superior musically.
The sax player John Helliwell lived next door to me and we used to listen to him practice. He was a lovely man. He moved to London and we never saw him again apart from on TV. I Love you listening to you both, Amber really goes with the music. 💕❤️
I have watched a lot of Rob Squad videos where I know that sax is going to kick in, and I watch them just to see Amber explode in delight when it does, she doesn't know it's coming and to see that genuine joy is a great watch
Hi guys, 4 original members. Songwriters were Rick Davies & the high pitch voice is the amazing Roger Hodgson. Rodger gave up the business to concentrate on his family. He's back now though! Logical song line, they sent me away to be sensible, logical etc... was about his parents sending him to boarding school. His Dad wouldn't let him touch his guitar but, gave him it when he left for school. 🍀🍀🍀🙏🍀🍀🍀
Both Roger Hodgson and Rick Davies really understand the Human Psyche..put to lyrics. They deeply wrote about serious psychological pain and joy. Almost like no other Musicians in the Industry. The band found a way to relate to the youth and common man of every generation. Not only that but they helped us survive and navigate through it all. That's what their music has meant to the world of listeners..who genuinely love them. ❤️
Amber's reaction to the horns is EVERYTHING!! It makes my heart explode with joy seeing how much you enjoy music from my youth. You have certainly earned my subscription! Thank you a million times for making me smile when there hasn't been much to smile about since before the pandemic. Love you guys! Sending light and love from south Georgia. 😘😘
If you (and/or she) are liking that sax vocal interplay, you could try bob james/david sanborn's version of "since I fell for you", with Al Jarreau on vocals. A little further try David Sandborn's "back again" and "love will come someday", with Michael Sembello (sung "maniac" from the movie "flashdance"). Similar sax vocal interplay. Last, and a little more on a tangent, Al Jarreau does guest vocals on Hiram Bullock's version of "you send me (old doo wop hit)", only it's guitar and vocals, but the same interplay. One more I thought of while typing. Natalie Cole from her tribute album to her father, "that Sunday, that summer". Nice sax solo with her vocal there too. Sorry, they keep coming to me. Same Natalie Cole album, the song "tenderly". The only thing is with this is, on the album it's the middle song of a 3 song medley, but for listening, all 3 songs are still beautiful.
I remember back in the eighties when I was a kid someone in my family had bought the Breakfast in America album and my older sister, brother and I sang along to the whole album each having our own parts and it was a memory I treasure to this day. Later on in my life I realized that the lyrics to this song reflect a lot of my life especially the part about being sent away as when I was a teen I was put into an inpatient program for mental health issues, and it means so much more to me now. I love your reactions to these videos of songs that mean so much to me.
Amber, your reaction to hitting the sax solo made me cry at the such deserved joy this band evokes! That was the absolute coolest reaction I've ever seen in a reaction video! Guys, thank you so much for sharing this! What a desperately needed soaring lift!!!
"School" from their earlier album Crime of the Century is an absolute must listen to song. The whole album is brilliant, produced by same producer who worked with Pink Floyd
The song “Crime of the Century” itself is also incredibly moving, especially the last instrumental section that starts with just the piano chords, then repeats and builds to the fade-out. Amber will probably cry. Rob might too, given how much he loves piano. 🎹
Watching Amber react when the sax came in, throwing her hands up, fist pumping, covering her mouth to contain her joy or so she didn't split her face smiling or something!! This is why people love you guys. We honestly love you..
I tell you guys we were sittin' out here just waiting, knowing that sax was coming and you reacted perfectly!!!! You made me shout, "Woo HOO" when you heard it. Thanks! I love your reactions, PJ
Did you guys hear him say 1 2 3 ..5?! Thought for sure you'd say something there! Great reaction Amber. Girly girl reaction. Innocent, Open, Playful. That's why we love watching you two. Always a joy.
I watch you two, and find myself grinning from ear to ear. Pure fun and joy! You send people away happier than when they started, and that’s a gift. Bless you both.
That sax solo is a perfect counterpoint to all the heaviness that led up to it. I love the sax. And the castanets interspersed in it. You rarely hear them in pop music. Supertramp were a group that knew how to be fun and joyful and silly in their music while being very introspective and sometimes dark in the lyrics. It’s a full emotional rollercoaster ride with them
They used two leads. Both excellent. Outstanding music. I was a little kid in the 70s. I remember me and my big sis rockin to this on 8 track. Yes, I said 8 track. 😂😂
Oh, my God! I love when young people discover these classic. I love to see their genuine reaction when they listen every melody with so much quality, with instrument so fine played, no autotune... it's only the talent that old school created at 80s and 90s.
Amber, never hide your smile. This is why I love you guys. Your whole playlist is what I grew up on and still listen to. Keep on Rockin'. I have been a fan since Day 1!
O M G! When Amber hears that sax and gets so excited, it made my whole dang day! She is so full of joy in that moment and I loved it. I have played that part 10 times now and it always makes me smile. Love you Amber! I actually love you both and watch all your reactions. They are so in-depth and spot-on! Thank you!
I got that Breakfast in America album, back when it first came out, in the late seventies. I think it's one of the greatest albums ever made. And this was my favorite song on it. It really touched me deeply. Not many songs do that. But that one did. Glad you two enjoyed it so much.
@@rhinehold4268 oh my God me too!!!! Bat out of hell came out when I was 13 yrs old and fell in love. I found Goodbye Stranger in 79 when I was 15. Fell in love again. I started singing in a Rock and Roll band when I was 17. We had a once in a lifetime experience that is gone forever and I am so glad inwas there.
WAY too long after this has been up for you to read this, but I LOVED Amber's reaction to this - never have seen her get so into a song and go off the rails with enjoyment... and your kid throwing something at you was HILARIOUS! Got to get the whole family involved! 😍
Rodger Hodgson is the lead singer's name .. he wrote most of their masterpieces .. if you want to hear a real EPIC, listen to 'Fool's Overture' .. if you're ready :)
I love Roger as well but please don't discount Rich Davies. Super Tramp has two lead singers and if you google 'songs written by Davies"...you will be pleasantly surprised.
@@dranderson6071 Oh, I agree 100%. And I prefer Roger over Rick , but It was certainly a joint effort on the hits until towards the split and the end . The live concerts show it very clearly when they take turns being the lead vocalist.
At 62, every morning I get in a hot tub to get my body to move, from now on, every morning I’m listening to this so I can watch Ambers joy to start my mind and day right!!!!!! Pure Joy!
I saw them in concert in May of 1976 finishing my Junior year of HS. Instead of the Prom I took my girlfriend to this show. Blown away! Speechless!! Even In The Quietest Moments had yet to be released in the States yet they closed with Fools Overture.
I have had this track on my favourites since I was a girl in the 70s..it brings tears to my eyes to see young people react to it today, the way I did back then... love you guys. More please?
every time, when I hear this song, I remember to me end of the teenage years, end of the 80s. "There are times when all the world's asleep The questions run too deep, For such a simple man" Exectly What I felt. Weekends evenings, when I sat with my friends and discussed the meaning of life... I think a lot of people know, what I mean...
You'll want to hit the following Supertramp masterpieces: "School," "Hide In Your Shell," "Rudy," "Crime Of The Century," "Soapbox Opera," "The Meaning," "Easy Does It / Sister Moonshine," "Give A Little Bit," "Just Another Nervous Wreck," and... if you can handle it... their opus "Fool's Overture." Supertramp is AWESOME... and I'm so glad you're enjoying the journey!!
@@johnmavroudis2054 else their first album, just throw them in there one by one. All songs are worth it’s own listen. Once I got bitten by the Supertramp bug in the 70s there were no return or looking back
Born in the 60's, learned to love music in the 70's, teens & adult in the 80's. Best generation EVER experiencing all that amazing music. Such a joy to watch you two discover it too. I get to experience the joy vicariously thru you two.
I am the same age as you. And I really sorry for my children growing up with rap and excessively auto tuned pop. And then, some days, I hear my youngest daughter playing Leonard Cohen or Louis Armstrong or Edith Piaf or something in her room, and then I think there is hope for them yet.
Same, same. We were blessed with so much great music. The 70s (and early eighties) I could listen to the radio stations covering all the various styles of popular music and enjoyed most all of it. While I've enjoyed lots of music from later decades, listening to the popular music on the radio has never been quite the same since then.
