Week at the archives | Summer Research PhD Vlog
My second week in Paris at the archives was quite exhausting! I planned on filming more, but the first half of the video is mostly me showing off the yummy treats I got at the end of each day.
Hello friends! If you are new here, my name is Katherine and I am a second year PhD student studying history at the Ohio State University! I am a cultural historian of war, and my area of focus is France + Australia during WWI.

I am applying to grad school very soon and following your content has helped me so much! You may not realize this but by presenting the ins-and-outs of your journey you really help those of us that are just starting! The whole process has me stressed! University of Oregon is my first choice in schools and I hope to apply in September for the masters in history program. Look forward to following your journey through your PHD! Omg I love pastries and they all look delectable. But I feel like I've had them all except the macaron with fresh raspberries. Yum!

Raise your hand if you would eat the dessert first (raises both hands), lol! It looks a lot like a Greek dessert I used to get. The strawberry tart also looks delicious!

Love this! I totally relate to the challenge of listening to your body during archival research. I’m guilty of going 10 hours/day without food, water, or a bathroom break during archival research because the archive’s entrance/exit procedure was so much of a hassle. Archives should have a break room! I’m glad at least you’re rewarding yourself with yummy treats!!

Wow 10 hours!! - it's hard to take breaks in that setting though so I totally understand. They definitely need a break room! The yummy treats are definitely a benefit of doing research in Paris :)
