Thanks for releasing this vid again with new audio, it's much better now. The "dumb waiter" door would have been locked on the upper level as the lift part was parked on the ground floor where you could slid the door up & down. If it was parked on the kitchen level, then that door would open but the ground floor door would be locked. It's the same safety principle as normal lifts in multi level buildings.
