As a Canadian you'll be possibly surprised to know that we got many British shows here even though we only had two channels for many years if you didn't have cable. Which we didn't until I was maybe 12 or 13 something like that. But the CBC played a lots shows Like Are you being Served (I didn't really get that one) Minder and comedies like The two Ronnies and of course Benny Hill The Goonies every day at 5pm!! Loved em! Of course Last of the Summer Wine and Many others. But the FORD CAPRI came into my life from Europe here in Canada and I bought TWO!! LOL. Then rally raced them and sold them off when I went on the road touring with my band.
Best RU-vid car restoration channel, love your personality and you make it all entertaining, doing amazing work keeping these classics on the road, love it and well deserved with all good things in the future
i have no idea about cars, never watch these sorts of show. was attracted because the capri has been my favourite car since my dad had one. you are amazing to watch, so calm, so thoughtful as your doing stuff and you make it so I can understand what your doing. amazing programme, amazing presenter. subscribed already
Love the videos. Please promise me that if the channel really takes off you won’t change, so many other you tubers make it then forget how they got there.
YEA BABY TURBO TURBO TURBO!!!!! YEA!!!! Now I have a warning for ya here. I put some huge power to my 1973 Capri back in the day (around 1985 or so lol) and it was a V6 2.6l with racing pistons high rise manifold headers four barrel carb and it had over 300 hp no questions asked. The only big problem was the Rear end blew out on me almost within the first two months or less. Over heating wasn't a problem surprisingly. So take all this as you wish. ROCK ON BRO!!!
Regarding door removal and re-install - for heavy doors, you have an engine hoist and straps. And another thing, I made an adaptor for my die grinder to make slitting disks go further and also to get into tight spaces.
Tip for fixing your overriders, drill all the metal out of the overrider itself and epoxy a 10mm bolt into it. Bury the head of the bolt quite far in and “slather” in arildite. I did mine 20 years ago and they’re still on!👍
If you find it hard wearing the welding helmet get some sunglasses type or goggles type Ben I've even worn two pairs of sunglasses in the past 😂@@tastyclassics
Love this Capri build. How apt that when you were welding the A post the cardboard in the car says ‘proper’ all over it - just like the job you are doing on the Capri. The car is going to be epic when it’s finished. Thanks for another great video 👍👍
I owned a mk 1 Capri it was my first car after passing my test at 17 years of age . I loved that car then went on to a fire engine red mk 2 which I also loved they were super strong cars with huge kerb appeal. Have a new subscriber thanks for great content , can't wait to see it all done , please don't skimp on anything she will reward you thousands of times over 😊
I feel you may have missed a small opportunity with your intro Ben. It would have been perfect if you'd slid across the bonnet with a "welcome to part 3, you SLAAAAAG"
The Capri episodes have by far been my favourites.. Loving the old school cool Capri. Miss my old ones so much watching this! Best youtube channel by far on a Friday
I exclusively restore Vauxhall cars and have been doing so since the late 80s...I consider all models up to the 90s but my ultimate restoration would be a 2.3 Magnum = very rare car to find now.
Vauxhalls are a nightmare, been trying to get a 2.0 cih rebuilt for my mk1 cavalier and finding a new engine was difficult got the only one available and it needs loads of new parts that aren’t stocked anymore and many parts imported from Europe and it’s taking my garage ages, if it was a ford of the era with a pinto I could get all the parts or even a drop in engine within a week
I'll vote for you. But you must promise to add a third pressurised tap that delivers draft Guinness. (or the beer of the home owners choice.) Party name. The Pist-on Engine Heads.
Loving your work. Started with the tt video which ended up on my feed and worked my way back. I’m genuinely laughing at all your relatable problems. I nearly had an aneurism when that drill press snapped - that’s my luck on rusty cars in a snapshot. Keep up the good work.
Loving these episodes being a ford fan myself, intrigued to see that next left for dead being from wigan myself ha, lets hope its better than the metro 😂
With the mirror light you can stick one layer of white electrical tape over the LEDs if they are too bright. That's what I did on mine for certain jobs.
Loving this project! Even more so now it’s getting a turbo! “Tasty Law” P.S a fuel tap at home! Hell yes! That teamed with banning all electric cars that’s bloody epic 🤣
I’m loving watching this. Your reference to jubilee clamps made me laugh. We Canadians refer to them as Tridon clamps in reference to the company that manufactured them in Ontario Canada. Keep up the great work. Can hardly wait to see this Capri go sideways !
Der der dum diddy diddy der der dum! Bit of Doyle going on in the intro!. T-T-T-T-Turbo, whoosh!.💨 That's going to light the back tyres up!. Make your pick up, burn-out look like a smoke bomb went off!. Ben for premier! Love the ideas..... The tasty party!
Been a busy week but eeked out this one and loved it, had to rewind a few times as I fell asleep, not through your vid but because I was knackered. Now on to the Vauxhall, don't need anything else.
This capri project got my attention. The new intro is the BEST ever!! Like your style, so i subscribed. I still own a 76 capri v6, except my controls are on the left side, which is the right side😂.
Good luck with the new passenger wing, you may need it. I restored a 1986 2.0 Laser nearly 20 years ago and replaced the wings. The replacement passenger wing which wasn't a cheap one was half an inch short along the rear edge down the door shut line. Everything else lined up absolutely perfectly.
Ben good to see you at 1.08.10 using a spray can of zinc...the correct British way with your finger not the Derick American way with his thumb! next the yanks will be telling us how to spell tyre LOL xx
YES BEN! - Elmo the Capri is coming along sweet, bless them little patches looks good!! lets hope MOT man is loving it as much I do! great job indeed mate
Ben 🤔you needed to prop that door with blocks of wood with a towel(rag)under door to stop any damage and stretching the wires🤔I was cringing for a bit 😝😂👍
I would love to but I think there isn't enough left on the clutch to do it 😩 it slips a lot as it is, will hopefully have enough to get to the mot and back!
Worst thing about welding under the car, no matter what you put down on the floor to lie on it always catches fire or melts. Old carpet is the worst as it stinks as it burns 😂
Has to be The Restoration party! I thought I was watching Dennis Waterman for a minute! Ford Capri was my dream car as a kid. Oh and a TR7 great episode!
