That was actually a very good plan that Bell presented. I wonder what would have happened had Willie had vision. I learned something from this movie. Not let my ambition cloud my vision.
AlexOVarietyHour Nah...In the movie Malcolm X when brother Baines laid it all out and then told Malcolm to 'be careful'. Most important scene in black cinema history.
This is how The Commission was formed! Also, this is franchising and revenue sharing, concepts that sports leagues such as the NBA and NFL engage in......!
When you played your Role, that was your Role,in the Game...You couldn't play a Gangsta and a Playa like they try to Glamorize, today.Bell 's role in this scene was Fantastic.
"Willie Dynamite you can't handle your bitchhheees"💅 that pinky finger nail and one liner will always have me dying laughing to know that this man was on Sesame Street makes it even fucking funny😂😂😂😂😂
this is an extremely well wrote and well played scene. Willie specifically has a veteran performance in this dialogue. bell does no less better than he, but Willie takes the cake.
My favorite movie of all time... People look down on Blaxploitation films but this piece had a mean score, wardrobe and cast... One of the few films that was sonically brilliant, so much so that you could listen to it without the picture and see everything... Not to mention the many messages in this flick right down to the end of a pimp that never should've been.... It did nothing to hurt our culture and made The Mack look B-sidish... Just my Opinion... Chill
"Whatchu saying you ca control your b!tches?" 🤣 that line gets me everytime and then when you think it don't get better, man said you, "You got to have vision!" 😆🤣🤣🤣🤣 I howled and that killed me. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💀☠👻
The message is so real.. Our ppl gotta get organized and have vision ✊✊✊ But its always some niggaz Like Willie that just don't get it...... I real power is in our Unity✊ Believe That.. ✌
A great scene from a (I mean this genuinely) a great blaxploitation film, featuring a bunch of terrific character actors, including; Messrs. Roscoe Orman as 'Willie D' Dynamite, Robert DoQuI, as Baylor (in the beige/tan/brown outfit, who sniffs some of Willie's shit), Roger Robinson - unforgettable as Bell (the head of the 'Pimp Council'). The soundtrack is by J.J. Johnson, and the title's sung by Ms. Martha Reeves, and the beautiful, talented, Ms. Diana Sands, as Cora. Sadly, Ms. Sands died shortly afterwards of cancer. I saw this a long time ago, and the music stayed in my head all this time. I'd tell people about this film, as it was so hard to find, then, but, now, thank goodness, more people can see it.
Right cuz at the end of the day, the johns don't panic and what's really important , what matters most.... is that we don't jam up on each other . Remember that.
Naw there were so many bad pimp movies ( or movies with pimps) Townsend lol Colectivized all those roles with the producers ( white producers) and made a brilliant social statement..... problem is fools still ain't listening 30yrs later
It's like that brother been studying to play Count Dracula his whole life, but some racist Hollywood producers said, _"You to dark for Dracula, but we have another role coming up you'd be perfect for"_ lol!
i am sure all these actors are not proud of thier roles now a days. but in the 70's they did what they had to do to get known, make money and pave the way for better roles.
