The Wells Fargo Autograph Journey could become one of the best beginner travel cards, but it's not a perfect credit card yet. It has a $95 annual fee and a solid credit and benefits, but the transfer partners are weaker than other issuers like Chase, American Express, Capital One and Citi.

Yep it’ll be cool to see what other partners they’ll add this year. If they get a couple more good ones I think Wells Fargo will be just fine

It would be tough to justify an application right now but I’ll be keeping an eye out for new Wells Fargo transfer partners

It’s the (lacking) transfer partners for me. I’ll wait until they add more but they definitely dropped the ball on that one.

My guess is that partnering with the hotels and airlines took longer than they expected so they had to launch with what they had and there should be more on the way

The transferring of points to Choice at a 1:2 is amazing. I would love to have a card that does this either from Wells Fargo or Citi. The most likely scenario would be adding Aeroplan and Virgin. I'd be very happy if they added both. Other than that, it's hard to say. Any other hotel partners don't make a ton of sense. Maybe a mystery airline partner that doesn't have a relationship with any other bank

Signify Cash will be decent, but won't meet the Ink Welcome Offers. So that's going to be disappointing.

Yeah it’s going to be something like $500 cash back right? Hopefully that can be transferred to partners but I haven’t heard much about it yet

I am hoping this card with cause Chase to improve my CSP. Since I rent a car on most of my trips, CDW is a must for me so this new card is a pass for me.

Yeah now I’m grateful that the CSP has primary CDW. It’s interesting to see how many cards don’t have that perk. I’d like Chase to improve the CSP too

They certainly are weak, but Wells Fargo has to start somewhere. They’re very far behind the competition but hopefully they can ramp up more good partners fast
