Only a few years ago electric bikes were 3-4hrs or overnight charging and now these bikes are charging 20-95% in 25 mins. Was reading an article where CATL are about to start production on Blade batteries with higher energy density and recharge times of 10 mins, the pace of battery tech has leapt fwd more in the last 5 yrs than the previous 50 yrs. I have'nt got an axe to grind as have had both petrol and electric bikes the last 50 yrs and like both. The more people on 2 wheels the better. Thanks for the insight @Visordown. Peace out. I can't wait to tour/do long range speed runs with this bike! Great video! Any details on max charge speed (in kW?) or if it heat throttled from any back to back CCS charging?

More like 1/3rd. In general these bikes let you ride for 2 hours and charge up for 45 min.

@@visordown to ride what, another 110 miles and go easy on the lightswitch. I can't imagine the future of E-motorcycle races with no audience or a bad ass bike rally with the blender bikers beeing online all the time so every move can be tracked. I'm glad i enjoyed the gas generation motorcycles for 46 years now and wil to the day i die. Ride free wil disapear and eventualy become ride because you need or have to go to work. If it does'nt roarrr's or smells riding a bike means nothing to me, but that is personal. Let the next generation believe it does. Good luck with that.

@@okkie1958 have you watched MotoE?? It's some of the most exciting racing, and those bikes are made by the same company that makes these touring bikes. I get that gas is fun. I started out on gas too. Take an Energica for a test ride though, and you'll understand the appeal.

There’s sure to be evolving etiquette on leaving fully charged vehicles in place while off killing time. It’s going to be interesting to see how that pans out.

You get fined £10 (in the UK) for every 90-minutes or so you leave it on the charge while charging is complete. That varies from charge point to charge point though.

The general etiquette is as soon as you've completed charging unplug and move your bike/ car so as not to block charger to other potential users. Simples 🙂

At current state of electric bike tech : on longer trips you lose a lot of time charging your bike even with quick charge. Imagine a trip London to Italian Dolomites the huge amount of time of your life you lose between the many charges. Mercedes EQE 394 miles real world range in one charge. EV bikes between 80 and 120 on average real world range. For 30k EV bikes i expect at least 300 miles real world range (highways, mountain pths and twisties NOT city range).

Correct. These two are sugar coating the stats from the start lol. But the EVs even with the sugar coating and paid for bias, are still not good or a realistic substitute for the real thing. Who knows maybe in another 50 to 100 years it might be.

We travelled from beautiful Bradford to this awful place. No off licenses, no kebab shops and the lavs were closed so we had to use the fields and some chip paper. The views were shit and the beer was piss. We had to cross the border into Frodsham and civilization. Whales sucks

30k EV bike 80 to 120 miles real world range. 40k EV cars 200 to 300 miles real world range. EV Mercedes EQE 394 miles range. EV car tech > EV bike tech

Wales IS great and I'm sure these battery powered.. things.. offer fantastic opportunities for vast amounts of eco-smug virtue signalling (and can maybe even dry your hair after a shower ?..) but I certainly won't be coughing up the eye-watering purchase price required to buy into this level of inconvenience until I absolutely have to. The less hysterical amongst the scientific community now seem to agree that EVs are not the best way forward due to their enormously elevated 'carbon footprint' at point of manufacture, and that self-charging Hybrids are the way to go (if we absolutely insist on not coming to our senses..) I don't know why but I've not read about any hybrid bikes or about any hybrid bike research - weight ?.. range ?.. impracticality ?..
