That deep stare they share for a moment. I wish she hadn’t stopped and said what she was going to say. Omg I'm seriously awful for waiting so long to comment on this beautiful video! My cold turned out to be covid. Blegh I've been a mess the last week and a half. But still, I'm so sorry! Especially since I was really looking forward to seeing this one after we talked about it, and I love it! I just love the soft flow of this one. It's really tender and sweet! I love the beginning with Wes trying to walk away followed by Lilah just barging into his place hehe and the way he scoffs at her caring followed by her sigh of relief that he's alive! You really showed the massive amount of development there! Aaww and I love that the first "if you hold me without hurting me, you'll be the first who ever did" focused on Wesley's scars, metaphorically and physically. "Show me the places where the others gave you scars" haha sorry Willow quote. But that fits them well too of course. ANYWHO, I loved the second "there's things I want to talk about" with Lilah almost saying ILY and Wes inadvertently admitting he loved her to Gunn!! Gah and the way you showed the growth over the summer from him basically indifferent to her leaving versus him not wanting her to go! So sweet! They had such development, even though we didn't get enough time with them! And the way you showed Lilah being the only love interest to understand and accept Wes for who he is - a soldier/fighter. OKAY that is actually an extremely difficult question to answer because I truly can write essays about every single WL scene/interaction. The thing with WL is that the relationship was sadly somewhat short lived (especially compared to what they deserved) so yeah they did not have an ABUNDANCE of scenes together, BUT what they DO have is all meaningful and important. What I mean by that is I feel there are no "filler" scenes between them, all their scenes serve a purpose and push the storyline and their character growth forward. Nothing shown between them is ever static, it is always moving and growing. I've had a LOT of coffee today. LMAO. Sorry for the rant that doesn't answer your question but now I will ATTEMPT to answer SOME of my fav moments between them, but like I said, HARD! Because ALL their moments make me emotional on some level lmao. BUT. To pinpoint certain ones... - I love seeing them in 4x01 because we see how much the relationship has developed offscreen in the 2-3 months since we last saw them in season 3. Their demeanor is completely different and instead of cold and mocking they are flirtatious and, well, HAPPY. Instead of telling her to get out Wesley asks her where she's going and pulls her in for extra kisses before she leaves. LIIIKE!!! - Obviously 4x02 and we've already talked about that lol -4x04 because every WL fan obviously loves the "you owe me a dollar" scene - 4x08 is so frustrating but has some of the best WL scenes too like Lilah being SO relieved that Wes is ok and hugging him, and then also in the tunnels when she calls his name and I swear ALMOST tells him she loves him. UGH. -obviously the contract burning in 4x22 I actually am not sure how many moments I should give but I will stop there because like I said, I can go on forever haha.
@@1SnoWhiteQueen1 Okay, I was seriously worried you weren't going to answer because I kept adding onto my comment after I posted it. BUT the reason I asked is because I am going to make you a gifset 🤫and I wanted to make it special and something you would like (meaning , if there was a scene you were particular to - but let's be honest, they're ALL our favorite scenes - I would highlight it. However, I just got home and I think I am going to do two gifs and have them fade into nine gifs, so essentially I literally think I'm going to be able to put every scene together. You could literally rant on and on about Wesley and Lilah and ALL your favorite scene and I'm telling you I'd literally hang onto every word, lol. I totally agree with everything you said. They're relationship was always growing and I love that for them, I honestly get SO emotional over all their scenes together it should be embarrassing (but it's not). By the way, I am definitely going to highlight the scenes you mentioned in some way. Also, I wanted to add that I love how at the start of it all it was al about "not making more of it then it is" but literally in the next episode (even though there was a span of time in the show) they are almost domestic a little. Like, Lilah literally gives him a sweet kiss goodbye before going off to work and that is so normal. (We also know she literally had a key to his place). I just really love that scene too, I really love the way Wesley brushes her hair back because it's so beautiful and tender and loving (look, now I swear to god I am writing you an essay) and the way they play and tease each other is so domestic and cute and fun as well! Wesley and Lilah did not deserve what they got in 4.08 BUT Wesley going in to save Lilah is literally everything. It says everything, plus the way Wesley carried Lilah and held his hand over hers/her wound as they walked side by side (I really love pairing this scene with Wesley telling Fred "they (we) were on opposite sides but it was the same war") the IMBD trivia for "players" has a bit under there saying this was Wesley admitting he loved Lilah and I really agree, also! I think you can really see a smile on his face when he realizes this. Plus, during the sewer scene when Wesley turns around you can really tell there is a moment between them and he doesn't just rush off. Plus, when Lilah goes to check on him it's so sweet because she kept leaving his messages and knocked on his door when she could have come in any time and I think that really shows respect for him, and when she's relieved he immediately knows what it's about (LIKE THEY ARE ON THE SAME WAVELENGTH). We really need to get together and make a PowerPoint on every single scene they have together!
Aww I am genuinely so touched you want to make me a gifset!!! I LOVE your gifsets so I am definitely excited for it, thank you!! It feels like such a lame cop out to say "I appreciate ALL their scenes!" but like it's TRUE. lol. All their scenes are so important and further their character development. I agree with everything about the scene in 4x01, a couple months have passed and there is now a tenderness and happiness that wasn't there when we last left off with them, but it's not giving whiplash at all, it actually seems completely natural. Like, they just work together so well. Even with 3x22 when they were both insulting each other and acting like they didn't care, they were both kidding themselves (Wes absolutely did think about her after she left lol) like I'm not saying they were in love at that point lol but I also don't think it was just mindless hatesex either, it was more about making a connection with someone who is just as lost and angry as you are, and finding comfort. And YES I always wondered if she had a key, because it really seems like she did?? Like in Apocalypse Nowish, how else would she have gotten in?? And he's not at all surprised she's there? Like it always made me think she must have had a key. Yeah the ONE positive thing about Lilah's death is that it seemed to finally wake Wesley up and make him realize that Lilah was the one he loved. Because he is at PEAK obnoxious Fred obsession during the couple eps before her death, but after she dies he stops with that shit. Like he realizes the woman who ACTUALLY loved him is dead now and he spent the last few days of her life pursuing someone else. And, uh, that sucks! The conversation in Players definitely seems like him coming to terms with how important she was to him and the fact that their relationship was NOT a bad or negative thing. And of course his last big act of season 4 being attempting to save her soul, something that he didn't do for her in life and CLEARLY regrets. The show ended at s4 for me LOL
