Considering what kind of crap Starbucks is, if Star coffee is even worse, why don't people just drink Italian espresso at a lower price in any place that has a quality espresso machine, instead of trying to be trendy and paying for expensive coffee

So they drink this shit with more sugar than the coke. I think, that when starbucks makes their coffe some random indian guy needs to plant new Ha of land to grow that much sugar.

Food, fruit, drinks are not sanctioned either. Western companies that have ceased trading in Russia have done so largely voluntarily or for image reasons.
@SAPVAP
@SAPVAP 11 месяцев назад
Western companies have long opened their production facilities in Russia through the procedure of buying former Soviet state-owned factories that produced various products. After the purchase of Russian enterprises, Western companies invested in modernization and made several product lines: International brands (Coca-Cola), Federal Russian brands (these are new brands based on Russian and Soviet recipes), as well as local regional brands (also based on local recipes). After the start of a special military operation in Ukraine and the imposition of sanctions, many Western companies decided to leave Russia. Their Russian production was purchased at a large discount of 50-90% Russian companies and businessmen. Now we have Russian and Western recipes, and produce various products with changed names. The losses of Western companies amounted to about $1 trillion, but they don't tell you about it in the West. There are productions that the Russian authorities have completely confiscated, for example, the production of Mercedes trucks at the site of the Russian manufacturer of heavy trucks KAMAZ, but Western authorities also prefer to keep silent about this in the West. Because it's a shame to admit that they decided to freeze Russian $ 300 billion, but at the same time lost almost $1 trillion. Western voters can ask a lot of unpleasant questions.

So after some research on this I think I've found some answers. Basically if a company as big as H&M wants to leave Russia they need permission from the finance ministry first. Sure they can leave whenever they want but they'll have no way to pay off their assets and are still going to need to pay on the property they still own in Russia whether they're open for business or not. So for companies like H&M that rent a whole wing of the mall there it's financial suicide to leave without selling off your assets first. H&M has submitted a request but they still have no response 4 months later, which seems to be the latest strategy to get companies to stay.
@firegirl24
@firegirl24 Год назад
they rent retail space and warehouses, they do not own
@alec4672
@alec4672 Год назад
@@firegirl24 well duh they don't own the retail space the mall owns that. H&M owns everything inside the retail space though including the clothing racks, changing rooms flooring ect. Yeah the mall owns the space but have you seen a blank mall space ever? The company renting it is expected to outfit the whole interior of the store just like if they were building a stand alone store. Everything from the carpet to the light fixtures H&M bought and paid for. That's why it actually looks like H&M in there and not a universal rental space. They aren't just simply renting the space the agreement is way more involved than that.
@firegirl24
@firegirl24 Год назад
@@alec4672 everything you listed costs a penny and does not apply to real estate. H&M assets in Russia are worth nothing.
@alec4672
@alec4672 Год назад
@@firegirl24 cost a penny?? You're mad dumb 😂 I've worked on mall spaces in the States before and that's hundreds of thousands of dollars for even a 40x40 Victoria Secret. Have you been in a Victoria Secret?? Everything you saw in the store was paid for by the company. Those fancy shiny panels and mirrors on the wall, the dressing room partitions, the register counter, all the wire for the fancy product lighting along with the lighting itself. Plus the weeks worth of labor to build out the inside of the store. They need to be able to liquidate the store before they can leave and they need permission from the Russian government in order to do that. You clearly are a cashier or factory worker and don't have a clue what you're talking about 😂😂 H&M has 170 locations in Russia, that's far from pennies of just completely left behind infrastructure and products.
@xmyxymx
@xmyxymx Год назад
@@alec4672hat nonsense. They can leave as much as they want with minimal expenses, and some did leave. However, huge brands like H&M etc get a huge chunk of their global profits coming from Russia, don’t forget this is a market of 145 million people, closing their stores in Russia is indeed a suicide because they’ll be losing enormous amounts of profits. So they stay and they keep their rent in these shopping centres until they’ll be ok to reopen again. They’re not idiots to leave such a huge market lol. Breaching contracts and loosing a bit of money for shelves and decorations is peanuts for them. They don’t want to breach any laws exactly for the reason because they don’t want to leave. Simple as that.

Russia is a huge market... for oil, gas, other commodities. High technology, electronics, machines, are apparently not to be found at all, at least not in the civilian sector. And now it has also come true that even in the military field there are only a few "exhibits". You don't have to look to the west to find the culprits, rather look at those who strut around in winter jackets costing thousands of dollars and who chill by the pool with iwatches and iphones. 🤨

Everyday cola is part of a russian auchan social brand "Everyday", that's why it's fairly low-effort. Some market franchises have those. Pyatyorochka has "Red price" for example, and, in some cases, it can be better option and less cheap than other (for example, I really like salmon) but in general it is cheaper in about every aspect. those brands are supposed to be accessible for people with low-income so they often save-up on stuff like labeling and container production (for example, Red Price cola bottles are fairly thin but cost 49-66 cents a 2 liter bottle. but in general, it's not really cola but a cola scented soda)

There are no groceries that are sanctioned or mall clothing items all the Western stores and brands that left did so voluntarily to protest the war but no one said they had to. The apple store is an example of what will continue to happen with prices but this is for 2 reasons first it is imported so paying for something with the ruble to bring it in the country is not a good thing right now, the other is inflation imported goods (also like the cheese) will continue to rise but anything made in Russia really shouldn't be affected.

You should visit Kyiv to report on the public tone there. I want to go back to Kyiv. The war sucks. I saw that people are leaving flowers at a monument to Taras Shevchenko in St Petersburg. I lived in St Petersburg. I miss it. Hopefully Putin will come to his senses.

I hope Putin is deposed and sent to Gitmo. I literally fear for what is about to happen -- Putin will probably nuke Kyiv then we Americans will nuke Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad and probably several mid size Russian cities. We will probably lose San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, NYC, Washington DC, Boston, Miami and God knows where else.

If you are an American doing videos in Russia, you are taking a massive risk. If anyone in a position of power doesn't like what you've said or what they think you've said you could be detained and use as a pawn or just never heard from again.

Americans that haven't permanently left Russia are risking being sent to the GULAG. I know I won't be stepping foot in Russia until Putin is overthrown and they are the newest US colony. I believe we Americans will win the war against Russia, it is just a matter of how many Russian cities get the nuclear treatment first.

The biggest and most important sanctions arent on consumer goods, they're on industries that contribute to the invasion effort. Think more along the lines of chemical manufacturing, parts manufacturing, and military tech. Thats not meant to make russian civilians suffer at the supermarket, its meant to weaken russian military capability. Its a big reason for the invasion failure. They simply don't have the resources, and that lack of military power has become a permanent condition going forward. China is not a true friend of russia and unlike russia their military power isnt a bluff, they will start annexing territory the moment its convenient and Russia will be left alone with no coalition, no active duty personel, and no arms. Without reform thats the inevitable fate of the russian federation.
@GNMi79
@GNMi79 23 дня назад
I don't think the USA or Europe have ever been suppliers of military tech to Russia. Or parts for military equipment either. So that will have no effect at all.

@@quboss2008 Ukraine had civil war for 8 years bombing its own citizens. Goggle 2 may 2014 Odessa, they burnt people alive for different political views e.t.c, bunch of shit done by the new Ukrainian government which was placed by the United Stated in 2014 as a result of a coup made by Britain and the US as a result of which the civil war unleashed with thousands of civilians died, banned political parties, killed journalists e.t.c. In 2015 the Minsk agreements were signed between Ukraine, Russia, Germany and France designed to end the conflict, but the Ukrainian authorities constantly sabotaged their implementation for the freaking 7 years, and a few months ago the former president of Ukraine admitted that he signed these agreements only to buy time to build up military force and he did not plan to implement them at all. If you think that Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022 for absolutely no reason, because Putin just went crazy, then you're an idiot who know absolutely nothing about what's really going on.

I think this makes a critical error. Importing from other areas to get the same goods puts an extra middleman in and will up the price to consumer. It may look like everything is going great but he is also in a rather wealthy area and naturally the more money people have the more they can spare spending higher prices to maintain quality of life. If he went to places that aren't so well off you'd probably see a very different result. Meaning the average Russian is likely being hit much harder. We also know that this is slowly creeping upwards as a problem as there has been a large amount of skilled workers have left the country over half a million since August so the number is no doubt higher now. This will have further impacts on the economy. So why not show us real Russia rather than where tourists go and well off people tend to come from?

Good evening! I'm not a particularly rich person, even by Russian standards, but in general, even under sanctions, life here is not bad. Some products have disappeared, some have become a little more expensive, but in general nothing unusual. Supermarkets are full of food. The only problems that may be with electronics, appliances and clothing, only parallel imports really help here, and these vezi really have become one and a half times more expensive. It is a pity that the sanctions are not hitting those who started this war, but the common people. Have a nice day!

And our workers were from the former southern countries of the USSR, and even now their salaries in Russia are higher for them than in their native countries, so there are no problems with this. There are more problems with construction equipment at construction sites. And about the shopping center: we have 20-30 such large shopping centers in Moscow, they are not expensive. It's just an ordinary place where people go to shop, though nothing unusual, everyone can afford it. Now that's it for sure, I'm going to bed :)

Most of those products on the shelves are produced in Russia. So their prices haven't changed a lot. Prices on some imported goods rose up, but that but that only reduced their competitiveness. Now they are being squeezed out of the market by analogues from Russia and friendly countries, such as China.

This IS real Russia. You don't know Russians or anything about Russia, it's very obvious from your comment. Average Russians don't care about name brands. They couldn't care less that they left Russia. No more Starbucks? No McDonalds?? Average Russians don't care because they don't eat there. And those who used to eat there they found new places that came to the Russian market instead of them. So in the end, it's their loss for leaving. Plus, don't think that these sanctions will hurt only Russia, they will hurt those who imposed them and those who left just as much if not more. Sorry to disappoint you!
