Yes, most all of this WE gear of the 40's-60s was used in phone telecom closets either as PA testing or out in a factory hanging on the wall as part of a PA system. The Asian crowd has turned this stuff into holy grail crazy expensive stuff. There is more of this vintage WE stuff overseas than here in the USA today as a result.

Backs don't change much of anything on these. They aren't sealed.

16 ohms. Transformer is for line matching.

Mark has measurements for both. They roll off at about 24 dB/octave below 100 Hz and above 10 Khz.

I hear up to 19k and I compared them to speakers I had that went above 16k and it was obviously noticeable. They don’t extend beyond 15 or 16k and there is noticible roll off by then

Or is it youtube clipping those frequency out?

I have to use non-copyrighted music or my videos get flagged. This is from a friend of mine's band called the 1-10s. They were out of Nashville but have been defunct now for about 10 years.

Warren Roddy that was my assessment after owning 755a’s and I built dedicated cabinets that did help the low end but they still didn’t do it for me due to the lack of low end

Yeah, the downside of any full range speaker.

And so, the AR-1 was born...

These cabinets are not ideal, even with the backs on. They sound better with properly made cabinets but they still just don't have enough bass for me.
