Love the changes Honda has made here, but more importantly really great review, TFL team. Snappy, time-sensitive editing, good use of quality music, great matter-of-fact commentary on the features that really matter on the new model. Kept me interested. Still have ny 04 Pilot, mpg kind of sucks but it looks like this one only averages a few mpg more. Great winter ride/family hauler when we have to carry a lot of stuff comfortably. I miss the boxy look of the original

Absolutely love our 2019 Honda Pilot Elite. Handles great on the hwy, great mileage, plus handles the snow/ice like a champ. I didn’t think I’d like the buttons shifter but it’s great. Very comfortable and smooth ride. Headlights are so bright. What I don’t like, the gas cap and tailgate release are in an inconvenient spot. Plus, the collision warning and lane assist... I have had the collision alert with oncoming cars around curves. The lane assist alert will go off when I’m in the lane occasionally. The Bluetooth phone quality is horrific.

Love the Lanewatch camera system. very useful especially as you can turn it on any time you want.

i have the 2011 Pilot; i like the boxy look...it looks like an SUV ...this current model looks like a mini van. Honda finally made the CRV look rugged when it looked like a mini van for a while as well ... If Pilot can look like an Acadia or Traverse i would buy... if it continues to look like a mini van ... then i'll get either the Acadia or 4Runner.

Why is there a impression's embargoed ? They are already out at dealers and i've seen a few on the road already .

I have been waiting for the Pilot and Ridgeline Refresh, I feel like Honda is going to face stiff competition from Subaru and the new Ascent

I like the new headlights and taillights. I also like the bottom part of the front bumper, the current one has too much of an overhang but this once is more boxy and pronounced. As for the grille, it's 50/50, I like the center part of it being boxy and pronounced though the overall front end is not my taste.

Any info on the package that’s on it? I’m sure it’s some kind of sport package because of the decals and blacked out grill. Price and availability?

Still looks like a smaller minivan. Not wide enough to fit a full sheet of 4’ X 8’ plywood or drywall. The previous Pilot could haul this!

The hood & door decal look out of place on a Honda. Especially the door...

No more Lane Watch?! That is one of my favorite features on our Accord. I’m also a little bummed that for 30k plus you don’t get analog gauges. I’m sorry but digital speedometers, in my opinion, look cheap... I love Honda and would buy the Pilot over many of the other SUV’s available, but it’s little things like this that Honda should pay attention to.

The Honda Pilot EX is basically a lifted version of Honda Odyssey!!

I like your reviews but why do you seem to always review the top of the line models? It would be nice if you could sometimes review the base models.

So my family was looking for a suv. It came down to the pilot and sorento with the v6. Ultimately we came home last night with a sorento EX V6. Two things kept us from the pilot was a very firm ride that was to harsh for me and there packaging. If you want x you have to buy a,z,t and then you have the option for X. Really to get heated seat on the pilot you need to buy the highest trim and cooling seats are none existent. Sorento all but the lowest trim has a heated seat option

Why are those inferior dome lights not LED?! Everyone is going to LED and it makes a car look so much more modern.

I think Honda needs to offer surround view like Toyota, KIA, Hyundai, and every luxury manufacturer. Also, every Honda or Acura I’ve owned allows a lot of cabin noise, would like to see the decibel numbers. They’ve cleaned up the dashboard, captains chairs are great, and it retains its value. The audio display is a huge upgrade, along with the WiFi hotspot. Push button shifter is ridiculous and not at all intuitive.

I have 2016 Honda Pilot EX ,this second Pilot I driving . Honda talking safety but rear signals light should be yellow lnstead red ,it’s hardly to see on day light.I am see on 2019 model yet

Good upgrades. They improve on the CRV features, notably by adding a channel knob for the audio. He refers to a "Touring LX" - what??? Exterior details modernized. Interior better. The lack of 360 cams? They Missed on that one.

In the 2018 EX-L I've driven for a couple thousand miles here's my thoughts. Android auto works half the time, the 6 speed feels so outdated, it didn't have a volume knob, interior isn't that premium feeling and I'm not a huge fan of the looks.

With the new MSRP I rather have Acura MDX

I don’t hate Honda’s.. so this isn’t a hate post. Having said that, This is what Honda considers “rugged” look?? The Old one was rugged. This is basically a Odyssey now that sits higher off the ground with available Awd. I preferred the older boxy shape which was more capable as well.

It’s your Soccer Mom’s Honda Pilot. Plastic skid plate, tough looks? Just buy an Odyssey. Honestly, if I look at these vehicle from a far, I can’t tell the difference. Ok, BOF suv owner rant over.

Have a 2016 exl AWD. Till they get their transmissions sorted out I would not but one. Our six speed is jerky when accelerating and going up hills. Warps front right brake rotor every 20000 miles. Not impressed for price of vehicle.

That start/stop - is it sticky, or you have to turn it off each time the car starts?

The styling is not for everyone. Honda needs to work on the next gen Pilot not looking like a minivan. The previous gen was boxy which I preferred.

Seams like Honda got lazy and just copied there design language from there MDX, definitely moved its demographics to a the grandparent crowd

Meh you'll see these out on the road. Most family won't care what this is. It's a typical boring crossover that is suit for a good size family.

I see the new pilots everywhere in my area. And I’m still driving the last gen model. I don’t like the new ones. They look like a mixture of a blown up CRV and minivan. With that said I’m looking to trade in my Pilot because Honda is not as great as they are made out to be.

Those headlights look HORRIBLE on that car. Also, Toyota has had that safety tech standard on the Highlander since the 2017 model year.

As an owner of the 2016 Pilot I have to say that new front end is hideous!

The Pilot is very nice overall.. Sits up nice and tall.. But the dashboard/instrument cluster design is terrible.. I wish I could trade the Pilot's dashboard/instrument cluster with a more traditional dash like the Toyota Highlander or Mazda CX-9.. (dial tach/speedo, more large knobs, etc) Then you would have an awesome SUV!! Why don't I just buy a Highlander or CX-9, they sits down to low (I mean overall vehicle height). The Pilot sits up nice and high and has tons of headroom.. Its a major shame Honda gave it such a crap/ugly dashboard design.

Sorry I like the 2016 elite better that look is cheap and that navigation screen is huge and ugly Acura
