I can’t wait to see Pen’s reaction after the kiss. That is one thing I wish the book had. After the kiss we follow Collins feelings and not really what pen was thinking. I also am very much excited for the show because I love the moments of them getting to know each other and just laughing and being together which I think the book doesn’t have much of. So I just can’t wait to see their happy moments more than the sexy moments

I love Smythe-Smith Musical, but sadly I don't think it will happen. 😭 At least not in the first half of the season, because of million stills we've got yesterday (good luck with that). But I would love to get a scene in which Colin has to get to Pen through other people and she's annoyed by it! 😆 Also amazing impressions, now I'm like Dickensian orphan, because I would like to get more!

I’ve noticed something in the trailer that I haven’t seen anyone point out yet, in the scene that she is dancing with lord Debling there is two different dresses, even her hair looks different so there is two scenes of them dancing, and the second dress is the one from the picture where Colin touches her face. Just putting it out there.

I wonder if Colin writes that he feels lonelier this time around traveling because Pen's not writing back to him and he reflects on how he didn't realize how much her correspondence made him feel like he almost had a travel companion and Pen reads that and feels a little bad about it and they talk about it? That could be a sweet moment too, something that shows her he really does value her friendship, but is also the seed of deeper feelings, without her realizing it yet. I feel like whatever that scene ends up being though, it's gonna be great and it'll probably make me cry. I'd also love for Lady Danbury to have a moment with Colin, similar to the one she has with Simon in S1, where she's like you could lose your shot, don't bungle it up.

We now of course know that dream sequence is from episode 3, so it is likely that Pen will end the moonlight scene similarly to the book version, while (likely) his mind tries to retroactivelly change the moment. I suppose it could be a good opening to the episode, just like Daphne's and Simon's dance in 103. I definitely agree with theory that it is LW who puts the thought to Colin's head before the first kiss scene. I suggest that this is also Pen's way of communicating with El that Colin does not court her. While the column pushes Colin to prove Pen wrong, it will also add to heartbreak when Colin finds out Pen is LW as he might think that Pen was playing with him the whole time. Perhaps coming to a conclusion that she deliberately decided to make him fall for her. We now also know thanks to another still that cutting scene will likely end on a similar note as the book one. We are just not sure how the show will adapt their argument.

Hello ladies. Thanks for another great post. Y'all spent an hilariously long amount of time on the journal scene (hahaha) but it made me catch some things I'd missed before, like Colin's comment about "home," and made me wonder what TV pen did with Colin's letters. Did she read them? If not, did she at least save them so she can read them once she forgives him? She'll never forgive herself if she threw them out unread. You left out a couple of my favorite parts of the first kiss scene, like when Pen falls off her bed when the butler tells her that Colin came to call on her (for the first time ever), and when Pen justifies asking Colin for a kiss by saying "I could die tomorrow, and it would kill me" and Colin interrupts to say "You'd already be dead." I think RMB (and the epilogues) is one of Quinn's funniest books, which makes it my favorite in the Bridgerton series, although the Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever is probably my absolute favorite of her books. One thing I do not like about book Colin is how physically rough he is with Pen and how violent some of his internal dialogue is. His jealousy of her LW publications is a bit immature too... but I make allowances for him because once he notices Pen as a woman, he falls hard and becomes very protective of her. The "a kiss is for two people" and Colin being so pleased with himself for holding Pen's hand for nearly 5 minutes are some of my favorite scenes too from these chapters!!!

Oh, and you girlies laughing about Penelope growling reminded me that in one of the '365 days' movies there was a lion's roar added at the end of a spicy scene. 😂 For anything that is holy, we do not need animal noises during human interacions!

Edit: Guys, i didn't even know you would bring up this possibility in the pod today. I basically wrote something similar. Perhaps I'm prophetess Hyacinth😭✨ I can actually see Colin following Debling and Pen to the Smythe-Smith Musical just out of curiosity at this point because he's jealous and he's trying to talk himself out of not accepting that he's doing it out of jealousy. He sits behind Pen and Debling or even next to Pen and she's between both men just vying for her attention and the music is just getting worse and worse as they argue for whatever reason 🤣. Just a hopeful possibility. I don't really mind if they do or don't incorporate the musical into the season, but if they do, I'm kind of hoping it goes like this if it happens during Debling and Pen's courtship.

Lovely and highly entertaining episode though I'm not sure I'll thank you in a couple of hours when my brain still has Mambo number 5 on a loop 😅 I'm starting to wonder if the reason Gregory has his arm in a sling is because he gets injured messing about with the hot air balloon and hero Colin comes to the rescue 🤔

You had the best ideas for the Smythe-Smith Musicale!!! Since we did not get in season three, do you think we will get the musicale in season four? It could work with Penelope Bridgerton writing the gossip sheet with the more positive spin. It could be one of the places Benedict searches for Sophie and is extremely irritated because he cannot find her and the music sucks!

Listened the podcasts yesterday and listening from RU-vid today... am I spiraling? No doubts... after Chaos Colin there is Chaos Me 😆. After the stills from yesterday (good luck with that one) I have got a quite clear idea of the timeline. I just wish in order: 1) Benedict is the one in the picture with Emerald Pen and asks her to dance 2) Hyacint will make the usual question "What about Penelope?" 3) The Cressida story will not suck up too much time... In season 2 the Faetherington were kind of the side plot and seems Cressida will be for the 3rd season... will she end up marrying the old guy like in the books (because she lost Debling) and this is why she will take on Penelope? Cressida had short terms even with Dafne... will the Bridgerton have a word with Eloise? Sorry this is not related to the video 😅 i will keep listening quietly... I had just to let out my thoughts.

Worms singing “I’m coming out” - these unhinged moments on the podcast are what I live for. I’ve also changed my mind on how the 1st kiss may play out. Current theory (after seeing the additional moonlight chin tilt still): Pen’s frustration boils over at still not being able to attract suitors despite the lessons (if Debling hasn’t started courting her yet). She exclaims to Colin she’ll die a spinster without ever having been kissed and traipses off to the garden. Colin follows her and is the one to initiate the kiss. I hope that she simply plants the kiss idea in his head and he’s actually decides to kiss her on his own. *And random question for the British members of the podcast: a callback to one of your earlier episodes that I meant to leave a comment on. What is the connotation/significance of “Gap-yah?” Young men on travels having exploits, lol? It’s not something that happens in the U.S. but it seems to have a negative connotation in U.K. LN said he couldn’t wear a tshirt NC got him with those words on it.

I think you guys are going to get hired as writers for next season or at least you should. I’m only up to your hand cutting scene analysis and I’m hoping the real scene is every beat of your envisaged one.

I am probably really late to the game with this comment. However, I have never heard anyone make the connection between Penelope’s last name and her secret career. Featherington, it is literally the definition of pluming (a feather🪶) or penning the lives of the ton. Also, a feather is light and she is making light of the ton. I have heard people make the connection with her first name, but never her last name. It is so obvious right from the start, just by her name, that she is Lady Whistledown. This podcast is just so fun! Thank you ladies! 😊
