This England side has given us much to look forward too. Loss or not, can't deny this is the best rugby we have played in years! And its only the beginning.
@@struanmurray2291 Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you. Best laugh ever, at least since the England squad boss said they would be increasing the skills level, and use less over-the-top physical force.
I wasn’t too positive about the match last week versus England and it showed, England know how to stay in games with pure power, and they really have shown grit and determination the last few weeks
@@TommyMclean-fv5cy you should learn more about french territory in the world , ok 2 are exceptions so not originaly french but more or less like in every national team anyway the large majority are from mainland France
@@alexandregarcia9726 Yes but the way England pass the ball through the backs they looked class! I WISH Wales had a strong centre and a Marcus smith playing. They didn’t kick out of position it was more tactical kicking. Let it go close to the end but none the less looks very promising from Englands future!
It was a really a good match. Clearly one of the best crunch I have seen. And it's even more beautifull because we win 😊. England team is in process of recovering their rugby. Good game Gentlemen from France.
I've often thought that about passes - but it's not a clear side-on, level view (look at the angle of the line they are approaching) so as with the others, I'd say it probably wasn't. That's the problem with watching it onscreen. The ref is also very close by, so I'd say not. Remember that there are also other stipulations to that rule since few years - which way the body is angled, etc.
Frenchman here. Glad to see England back, better to have teams have their best for top-tier level 6 nations! The lads seem more confident in their chances! I just hope for Wales to get back at their level now 😅
Very good performance from England away against a strong French team. More to come from England. Thought France got lucky with the 'fly hack' try and the no arms tackle winning penalty. Next year 🏴 🏴 🏴!
Danny " how's my hair " Care put a box kick in with a few minutes left - which led to the penalty supposedly ! - what a dumb thing to do - on a side note why do Harliqueens always have so many poseurs as players - must be a London thing - they even manage to turn the Northerners
I’m not sure how the French were still given advantage when they travelled from the halfway line to the 22m with the ball? That’s surely advantage over?
@@progue644610:34 ? Was there really any gain doing that play ? There is no real break or anything dangerous. And it's only a 15meters gain, not really enough I guess ?
Laws state, the its up to the referee whether the the non-infringing team has gained a sufficient advantage since the infringement. And in agreeance with @fabglook , with the context of the time remaining and territory gained, penalty probably should be given. Had it been 65th or even 70th minute I don't think its given because it can be seen as unfair to the french team to force them into a high intensity last push for 3 minutes while the opposing team made an infringement. People for years have been saying advantage should be transitioned into X amount of phases instead to help with consistency but as of right now that is the law of the game
Great game. Both teams showing great promise for the future... kinda sucks that the win was decided by a very marginal, non-dangerous no arms tackle that we barely saw.
I’m from New Zealand and this year is the first time I’ve even been interested in watching the northern hemisphere games they’re finally interesting and they have gotten out of the habit of playing boring kicking rugby! Can’t want until England play the All Blacks this year it’s good to see England are back to being competitive
Rumor out there England used to be relevant in Rugby just like in Football at the national level??!! Hey at least the leagues in England in both sports are still strong because of Foreign players! 👍🏻
5:16 shoulder to the head of Penaud, no try and at least a yellow, possibly a red card. I can't believe how it was missed both in real time and by the TMO.
Why can't you believe it? Who was the referee, who were the line flags, who were the TMOs. That shows the bribes at work? It was a deliberate attempt to put Penaud out of the rest of the match. The English "style" is still to dump on the opposition, with the idea of reducing the team viability, even if it destroys the career of the victim.
Firstly LOL. Secondly, if it was deemed to be foul play rather than a rugby incident, the try had already been scored when the clear-out happened, so the ball is dead, that means regardless of the action the try would stand and the most that could happen would be a card and a penalty kick off. You can't be punished by taking away a try that's been scored if someone clocks someone afterwards, that insane. Also to the guy saying there is a pass that goes one whole metre forwards, they only call it if the hands go forwards now, not the ball, they don't so it wouldn't be called. Also from the place on the field (not near a line) and the angle of the camera, it is literally impossible to tell with the naked eye from this replay if it went forward, maybe if you superimposed a grid, but even then, the hands don't go forwards, so where the ball goes is irrelevant. Please learn the laws
They did at the time. It was actually Earl No.8 and not Underwood No.7 who was off the field. He did attempt to wrap his arm but was off balance and going down, so failed to do so properly. It was a very soft 50/50 call and many refs would have let it go, but technically correct.
'No arms tackle' can anyone see that? I have never heard of Underhill making a no arms tackle, then the ref changed it from No 7 to No8 so he didn't see it either and neither can I. I smell BS.
Of course you couldn't see because it was cut in this video. It happened just before 10:34 . Previous action which led to this 10:34 ruck isn't available here. Have a look on a different video you will see that the player actually dive in the legs of the French without any wrapping gesture...
England has been cheated for that no arms tackle, why the ref allows them to played on? The advantage was already done! England could have won this game! Well played from England team 💪
I'm sorry but no arms tackle at the end?! What the hell, 2 players going for legs which they miss and then a man tryna rip the ball. Absolutely ludicrous
The commentary is from ITV who are English. The channel have a choice of either English or french commentary so picked the one that most people can understand. I suppose they could have employed their own, neutral commentary team, but that would be an unnecessary expense and most people are fine with the one provided.
@@Chris64Franceoui, mais il est mauvais défendeur ; et a raté son avant-dernier tir. Il y a une balance risques / opportunités. Et il ne défendait déjà pas bien quand il était au poste de 15.
As a french, i say not in this match, but lucky in the tournament. Lucky against Scotland ; and lucky against Italy, who can create a surprise of 3 wins.
English player tried to kill penaud but yes... 3rd english try pass is forward but i guess you're right. It was a great game and don't be salty. Your team dominated 25 minutes and get dominated the rest of the game but France defense is terrible right now.@@struanmurray2291
@@Natachajeanne He has a point, Ramos is a good 10, but he could be a little more dangerous in attack. Although to be fair, it's difficult to find a 'complete' 10 anywhere, given their workload.
I don't think so. This is taken from a UK TV coverage with the colour commentator being English in this case. This isn't a court case, you are allowed to show your personal feelings a bit as long as you give the other side all their respective praise
I see the rugby is going the same way as the football where you have "national teams" where half of the team is of migrant decent and not actually native or connected to the nation in anyway.

@@ML-ul1rx Bien sûr. Sous Laporte il était interdit de sélectionner un joueur sans passeport français. Tous ses enfants nés en France sont français aussi.
England has lost its arrogance and France its violence. They now offer us more beautiful matches, a bit old-fashioned, which is why we will never see France England in the World Cup final. Ireland, the South AF etc are a little more vicious and brutal, I prefer our rugby even if it is not the one that will win with the current rules
Two French tries were fortuitous ooff Eng mistakes and i thought the 'no arms' tackle was a poor decision giving France the final penalty. An overthrow which provided the French backs the space to play as Eng were set up for attack, and the punt through. By comparison Eng were very direct was excellent to see.
Genuine question: right before the last French penalty the French ball carrier cuts back and jumps over the players still on the ground from the last ruck - isn’t that classed as dangerous play?
Just before France's first try, their interception of the ball in the lineout was illegal 0:48 . They failed to retun their lifted player to the ground, instead they practically threw him over the heads of the opposing line. This should have resulted in a free kick to england and no try. It's bugging me no end that no one anywhere seems to have picked up on this.
