Day in the life of a super yacht on charter, passage Gibraltar to Marbella, shot and edited in one day. let me know if you liked this or didn't like this, if you have any questions drop them in the comments #nosmallcreator #gibraltar
Thanks for the varied content. Very worthwhile for aspiring crew and for aspiring guests to have an understanding of how the magic is made. Great series.
I have more of those coming. We are just so busy at the moment I don’t have time to sit down and edit them, the summer season has already grown to about 25 hours of footage it just takes so much time to whittle that down to a short video. These one day episodes are much easier to put out and I can be more informative with what goes on. But like I said there is a huge summer season video in the works it just might take me a while to finish it :)
I’ve not long found your channel and have been working my way through your back catalogue. It must be hard quaffing champagne, chomping on caviar canopies and lighting fine Cuban cigars with one hundred dollar bills all day or that’s what I thought. It really does look like hard work out there, you always seem to have plenty to do. I hope you do get plenty of downtime and are able to enjoy the beautiful places you visit, I’m sure you do. I’m loving your videos, thanks for sharing and keep up your great work.
Love your channel, its fantastic. Can't wait to see what you post next season. Can you talk to us more about what the guests are doing? Like give us a play by play of the highlight events?
This is my first video of your channel and I enjoyed it. I wondered what crew life was aboard a superyacht, almost like being in the Navy but harder. You really have to live and work to high standards. Now I have to see if I can find your previous videos. Thank You
It was a surprise to walk past the boat at Marina Village in Gibraltar earlier this week and see you guys there. I’d only just found your channel and enjoyed the videos and the behind the scenes work that goes on, especially the refit.
Yes, that was me, I’ll ask for an autograph next time. I see in the video you were up in Banus, are you still chartering in Southern Spain? You must be close to heading over to the Caribbean it can’t be long now as you see the various super yachts filling up in Gibraltar at the tail end of the year before heading West.
Mate great video :) thank you lots for sharing. Do you think we could see more of the interior of the yacht ? id love to see more of you driving the ship from the top deck to
Thanks for the support. We don’t have a console on the sundeck we have the on the bridge wings and really they are only used for heading into port or man overboard drills.
what do the different uniforms all mean? different occasions? how do you decide where to go to next? is there autopilot on the boat for travelling at night? how much food can you store and where are all the storage locations?
King Luis The decision on where to go will be up to whoever owns the boat, ie a charter company or maybe an owner who charters the boat out, then the guests will charter that particular boat because it goes to where they want to holiday. Yes there will be an auto pilot, which will be used during the day as well as night, but the boat can be steered just as efficiently during daytime or night time without auto pilot, it just means a little extra work for who ever is at the helm. I don’t know how much food can be stored onboard, but obviously fridges and freezers are used, and dried goods will be stored in specific compartments onboard, and on smaller boats they store dried and canned goods under floors, or anywhere else there is an empty space.
Cool video , I’m an electrical fitter and used to work on ships at the shipyard and have always wondered what it would be like to work as an electrical engineer on board a boat like the one on here , any chance you can shoot a video of what that is like.
Nice one mate, I'll be back on the vlog bandwagon soon, seeing you keeping it up has given me a bit of a kick ;-) Just got the Mavic 2 Pro so should start filming stuff soon! Catch you when you're back in the 'shire
Hasn't arrived yet but I'm super excited. Got the Zhiyun Crane 2 too so should get some super silky b-roll! Off to Chicago in November so that'll be the first big trip I film :)
Hey Tom, only just discovered your channel. Working on these boats looks amazing, I’m nearly 30 have I left it too late. I’ve got Rya powerboat 2 and I’m self employed carpenter so not shy of any work. What would I need to do to get on a boat next summer. Many Thanks Tom
Make sure you have your stcw and a valid eng1. Lean on your carpenter skills get on a larger boat I worked on a 115m and we had 2 carpenters on board. They were still hands on all deck stuff but carpentry is a great skill to have. Age is a mentality, it’s only going to hold it back if you let it.
Was waiting for that one since i watched all the others in a couple of days so, was missing it, keep the feeding and don't let us down oh almost forgot ..... where are the girls ;)
What are the clients like? Cool or not so much? How long do the hire WD on average? How many crew total is there? If you owned that SY what is the min # of crew that you would have on it? Thanks good videos ... more of the marinas. harbors and cafe's if possible
Good day Tom! Write please location(name of the city, port) on video with landskape . Thank you for your channel) sometimes whath your video during work day, without sound)
I like your videos a lot! I discovered your channel yesterday and I've seen barely all your videos 😂 Maybe with more click bait titles you can have more views, I don't know, but you deserve more than that!
Hi Tom, great videos! You seem to often be towing the tender and I wondered why, is it hard to put in and take out of the garage or is it in case of MOB? Thanks
Glad you liked the video. We have to tow the tender because it’s simply too large to fit on the foredeck. For MOB we have a designated rescue tender which is solas approved for that purpose.
If the boats chain or ground lines are leading out too much we ask them to drop it down so they are no longer an obstacle. It’s general marina courtesy but some boats don’t do it for what ever reason.
@@TomJoeSHOW Sometimes I see you in uniform with markings on the epaulets. What are the different markings for a private crew vs. what I've seen on ships? Thank you, Mike
What are the basic dates of the Mediterranean Yachting Summer Season. Do you work your way from one side of the Med to the other visiting different ports along the way or do you end up visiting the same destinations over again during the Season?
how do i get into working on a boat like this with no experience working on one but ive got plenty of experience that would be helpful in other areas of the boat
Will talk to the engineering department, hopefully if we are able to get shore power in the next port I’ll get it done there. It’s too noisy in the eng room with the gens running
For sure and it's pretty remarkable how quickly the yard can complete them without sacrificing quality...when compared to their competitors (Lurssen, Feadship, Oceanco, Heesen, etc)
Could you explain the tender/customs thing? I didn't understand why you (your crew mate) had to take the tender out separately and why customs would assume and suspect you'd smuggle contraband with it?
Apparently some Gibraltar rule about ribs and outboards. I guess as they are harder to detect than a full rigid hull. I’ve never heard the about it before.
Great vlog Tom, please continue making great content. And for all of your followers the music is LBL by Cospe ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7A2G8gkE9Zw.html
