Brazil nuts are acidic 5.5 ph level I don’t think consuming any food in aid to sleep is good because of several factors from the food ie raising blood pressure and ph levels is just a tip of the iceberg then it will depend on how you sleep if you sleep on your left side or right side can induce heartburn but you cannot guarantee on the desired position as you will be sleeping and not aware of your sleep position.
Not exactly food but I use "wild crafted" reishi mushroom in dual extract. Suppliments of reishi can be found everywhere but I am NOT recommending that as I know nothing about them. I forage wild ganoderma tsugae. Our North American native reishi. I make a dual extract ( which I do sell) and take a little before bed and I sleep like a baby. If anyone wants to give it a try lmk or get some mushrooms and make your own tea or tincture or dual extract. It really works and also has many other benefits. Please do some research , reishi, chaga, lionsmane, turkeytail mushrooms.
What you failed to mention is that both Keewee and tart cherry are diuretics. I took your advice, ate them before bed. Two nights in a row, and I was up peeing all night.
Thanks! This is helpful because I have an overactive bladder and I was thinking about drinking cherry juice or eating cherries before bed to help me sleep but I’ll make sure not to do that now.
I've recommended your videos to my friends for their informative content. Keep inspiring us to prioritize our health! Your thoughts on Core Of Lifestyle would be valued too.
The best foods for sleep • Kiwis • Cherries • Fatty fish • Walnuts • Almond • Pumpkin seeds • Whole grains • Chamomile • Lavender - as a scent They have high melatonin, zinc levels
Think it depends on your body type / size and gender. I'm a cis woman, 5'4 in heigh and about 140lbs in weight, I find that 1 kiwi can be fine, but if I'm having a really bad time of it, 2 kiwi's about 2 hours before bed helps.
Honestly, there are not and CAN NEVER BE controlled trials to give us the answers we want about diet. And I wonder how many kiwifruit you have to eat to help you to sleep - they're about 95% water, so that''s gonna wake you up in the night to pee. The best that can be said for this advice is, avoiding red meat is better for the animals that would otherwise suffer, and such moral standards improve your well-being, even if you can't sleep.
Hi Dr Breus, That sounds like great advice thank you very much. I think that does work for a lot of people. However people with anxiety and panic attacks when their heart rate is shooting up they need something else to manage those emotions and thoughts, I'm a hypnotherapist of 30 years experience. Have you ever used self hypnosis or hypnotherapy as a way of managing or even ending people's anxiety and panic? I think the classic one is the warrior who is running 100 miles an hour all day long trying to escape their thoughts, they go to bed absolutely exhausted sleep for around two hours and then they're awake as soon as their body has had enough rest, they're awake again. I get great results working with those sorts of people . Do you have any advice that you'd like to add to that to enhance the work I do for them? I think sleep is an amazing subject and I can never learn enough about it .
It’s always best to talk with your Dr before taking supplements, especially if you take medications or are diabetic. Most medications stem from herbs and supplements. Valium comes from valerian root and St Johns wart an anti depressant. Hope this helps
Imagine you're living in a country where one earns about $150 - $250 pm, how one can effort to have those stuff for a good night sleep. So let's wake up in the middle of the night and read " Gone with the wind or any Doom day book!
Dr, I just went through the sleep study procedure, diagnosed with apnea and now awaiting the DME my doctor prescribed. But, before my equipment arrived I came down with a Shingles covering my buttocks, crotch, posterior thigh, and my privates. For close to three weeks I have been taking 300mg Gabapentin three times a day for nerve calming. Since the Gabapentin I have sleeping normally as normal for being 82, maybe one pit stop. Also I wake CLEAR headed and refresh. Before the Shingles attack I was a walking zombie, sleeping at most two hours straight and most time afraid to go to sleep since who want to awaken gasping for breath. I attribute my good sleep to the medication and I’m curious what will happen when I’m through the course.
I understand i ask my Dr.about my vitamins to help my sleep apnea, but most Dr are mot trained to know much about vitamins. Who would i need, to see to help me with this? Thanks 😂
