Never assume you know more than anyone else in the room. Guy says to someone, “we need to show you how to wrap your wrists” and Dave then tells him that he’s not holding the bar correctly. Always improving, always learning. Thank you.

just because someone doesn’t bench perfectly doesn’t mean he doesn’t have wrist wrap tips to give someone lmao. not being able to bench perfectly doesn’t discredit everything the guy does know. i didn’t hear him say it so maybe he said it with some ego or something but i don’t get how your argument makes sense

It’s not so much an argument as it is an observation. Yes that guy could have great wrist wrapping advice, I’m not discrediting that, I just found it ironic that almost right after he said it Dave told him he was gripping the bar wrong, also one persons opinion. Just pointing it out is all.

Not rushing with the bench and letting the bar settle in my hands helps me be a bit more confident with the lift. Always great advice from Dave.

So happy to see more and more equipped lifters showing up to these. I really hope we see a resurgence of single and multi in the USA in my lifetime. Might be biased since I switched over from raw to equipped lol.

Yesterday I had my 7yr old trying to move the bar checking for tightness, I didnt consider doing it at the midpoint too

Cardio hypertrophy...10-30seconds between sets... Warmup wall banded Spider crawl s+3x1minute ISO Swiss ball squeeze s Dumbbell flat bench 1x10+5x5. Narrow presses 3x10. Squeeze presses 5x10 ...

I usually use 2sets of small bands with 225lbs-265lbs bar weight then go for 5x2x 3seconds pauses... That should be 50%-60% of my max

That is not a conventional bench press That's the bridge assist lift... that's an illegal bench press!

All these guys would improve all three lifts with the core work. They can't even sit up from the bench.

I'm sure these gents do more core work then you think....it takes a strong core to DL, SQT and BP heavy. So what are your max lifts then?

These are the best coaches in the world who were some of the best athletes in the world. This is the sport of powerlifting where we look for edges including abridging ROM and maximizing leverages. If you want to bench with a flat back to the greatest ROM, you go ahead, but you won’t be maximizing the amount of weight you’re lifting and nobody else will be following the same rule set as you. You’re free to pioneer a league with the rule set you see fit, though.
