There is really only one principle which underlies the dogma of the DUP and the unionists. They are merely adherents of the extant British empire in Ireland. It might sometimes appear mysterious but unionism's only historic role is to defeat Irish independence and prevent Ireland developing economically and politically. This was always Britain's policy and it still is. They do not ever want to see Ireland rivaling British interests, and they are still attempting hegemony over Ireland through Bexit. This explains the unionists paradoxical support for Brexit, since Brexit by any estimation runs completely against the economic interests of unionist supporters, in agriculture and other business. Yet they are prepared to forsake their own economic interest in the hope of reviving their dreams of resurrecting in some form the British empire. This reality will become increasingly clear as all the ludicrous debates about the border (the British colonial border in Ireland) emerge and fall flat.
As a Northern Irish person, I can say to the people of England, Scotland and Wales that the DUP are an embarrassment and do not represent what our country is about and what the people here believe, especially on things like abortion and same sex marriage.
Ok so it had to take all this time for Westminster to listen to the people from the North of Ireland. I don't mean this in a bad way Westminster doesn't care about the North. Let's take a look at what Westminster done on Scottish people with there vote they say Scotland couldn't have a second vote. And also Westminster also told the Scottish people they would give them powers and they never anything just to get a no vote. The 3 musketeers came to scotland and bullying the old people. We can not have British rule ever again we need peace. And why can we not speck our minds with out getting called bad names. Does anyone remember when Westminster made a laughing stock of the SNP on TV tell the SNP that there voice in England means nothing. Not being bad but we need to let England go and I'm not be selfish but we need to protect our land and do I have the right to say. We need a red line around the ireland of Ireland. Don't mean to hurt anyone's harts god bless all
A lot of Northern Irish politicians whether Unionist, Nationalist , Loyalist , Republican or other have no morals when it comes to the unborn and other important factors that still matter to many people in Northern Ireland regardless of political background .
