The dude with the hat is Rakim. The inventor of modern day flow. Before him people were doing that hip to the hop to the hippity hop stuff. He came out and straight flowed bars.
Until 2013, mmlp2 was the last good album, after that there was only bad stuff, for almost ten years he's only been doing crap and a lot of mainstream.
Nobody can beat EM’s wordplay. He can take words that don’t even rhyme and change the flow to make them. Every word he says has 2 or 3 meanings. You gotta be listening to every bar completely and then go back and listen again to get ALL the meanings. ❤
There is one, but unfortunately, he's a Christian rapper. And his name isn't great, either: Gemstones 4 Life. Look up one of his songs, if you can. He samples pop music, then does incredible wordplay and continuity.
Em has so much respect and admiration from all the best rappers in the game. Could give a fuck what some random dude on the internet thinks about him. The greats in hip-hop put him at the top. That's all you need to know. Em is a 🐐
The thing is, Em does give a fuck what random people on the internet thinks about him. He's constantly said it's an issue of his even on wax. I forget the song title but i believe it was on Kamikaze album where he was throwing shots at everybody(Tyler the Creator and others). He started the music video off with him in a car reading hate comments about his music and getting pissed off. Royce was in the car trying to tell him he need to stop reading all that shit.
Even The Game wasn't exactly an asshole when he called out Em. He just wanted to play more. And at a higher level. Black Slim Shady is funny af. Let people be people. And let famous people joke around. Who cares. We are the consumers of content. And you do not need to be a Stan of any kind. You only need to respect art and the people that create art? Bruv literally tried to setup a win/win scenario of playful and hilarious beef.
Kdot was robbed. He deserved an emmy for Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers. Who cares though. Those awards are generally bullshit marketing toolz. Edit: emmy's are for "tv shows", grammy's are for vacuum musics. My bad.
@@py_a_thon oh for sure, story old as hip Hop of course. There so many acts that never got their dues, like in their day the Pharcyde weren't appreciated enough sadly. But hey we know what the real stuff was, and we know now too for Kendrick. Give em flowers why they here, and eff the grammy's forever imo . 100
@@py_a_thon that beef was really funny. Do you think behind closed doors maybe they actually penning that together ahhaha I bet they in on it duping all us ahhah
To understand the vibe we all felt when Eminem came on the scene you guys need to react to more tracks from The Slim Shady LP. So many bangers on that album. Start with My Fault
Yeah, that was all dope, but for me, it was marshall mathers lp 1, and me being across the river from detroit, it hit different. I love all his work but that one at that point in time. Different!
Eminem is one of the few rappers that checks every box that qualifies one for the GOAT conversation • SKILL • DISCOGRAPHY • CONTRIBUTION TO THE CULTURE • WORLD WIDE APPEAL • CEMENTED LEGACY • RESPECT • LONGEVITY (minute exception to the deceased) A true GOAT of hiphop music, has legitimate claims as the best in all of these categories. (Can’t wait for part 2 of this reaction series)
Longe😊vity? Until 2013, mmlp2 was the last good album, after that there was only bad stuff, for almost ten years he's only been doing crap and a lot of mainstream.
@@Mister__Jey I respect your personal opinion. I can agree that I like some Eminem albums better than others, but I do not agree that MMLP2 was his last good album. Music to be Murdered By is a genuine masterpiece of an album and will most likely be slept on until years later…much like they did with Relapse. That’s all beside my original point though. Eminem could’ve stopped after Encore/Curtain Call and would still be relevant today. Just look at the man’s Spotify numbers right now…that ought to tell you something. Eminem’s classic 3 album run is still topping charts 20 years later. THAT is LONGEVITY
I struggled with my speech comprehension due to my mental disease and had to relearn how to speak and think for myself. Eminems music helped with that and connected me with rap and that connected me with hip hop which added to both my writing and more. It was hard and when you just want to flow but your brain won't go, you just fall into a bad place. So i will always appreciate his work. Most hate is also due to how fucking nice he is at his craft. The more you hear it, the more you cannot deny his greatness. Facts speak for themselves and time speaks as well
If possible could you elaborate on what mental disease you have that caused it, I’m currently going through the same thing I can’t talk 2 sentences without stuttering and when I’m having a conversation my mind will blank near every time. I noticed it happening after abusing prescriptions for about a year and I’m unable to get a brain scan or a doctors visit for about 3 months
I disagree with the statement that more streams equates to them being a better Artist. Just because certain groups/people have been backed by The Industry does not mean The Underground/Undiscovered Artists are not just as good as The Mainstream/Signed Artists. You would have to break down rap/hip-hop into the sub-genres to be able to name the tops of each genre. I enjoyed watching you guys debate it. Take care Cartier Family💕
100% That streams/sales doesn't = best rapper, but it's one of the few ways we have to objectively rank artists, everything else is just subjective, different people like different things in music, which effects how they rank rappers
"Sing for the Moment" by Eminem. Been waiting for you guys to react to that one. Great lyrics, great music video and awesome Aerosmith sample as the hook.
Honestly, I feel like one of the things Em never gets enough credit for is just how much he pays homage to his influences and the OGs both in his music and interviews. Lot of clowns talk about the culture, ask what he has contributed or say Em doesn't belong, but how many of them know even 10% of what Em does about hip hop history? Man's whole hall of fame speech was basically one joke about almost dying due to his drug use and then dropping about a hundred names of greats and people who influenced him that he felt deserved more respect and then he was out. It's fine to not like the music any artist releases and have our own rankings, but to deny their talent is ignorant. This goes for every artist, not just Em. Sick of all the talk about race. Man changed the game and the popularity of the genre in general across the world when he hit the scene. Whole lot of artists making way more money as a result and being heard by audiences that they never would have been because of Em.
My top 4 is Eminem, Rakim, Nas and 2Pac. Biggie is a top 10 but we lost him too soon that we never got to see his full potential. Where as 2Pac same situation but he was releasing a lot of albums in a short time. So that built up his catalog fast.
This list is good.im from srilanka.eminam is the reason why we look at hippop in 1st place.i watch every reaction for rapping.im 25 now from srilanka.list goes by Eminam 2pac Rakim Nas Biggie Reggei(redman) Lil wayn Drake Jay z Kanye Kendrick 50 cent Anyone can have a favoriute rapper.but it comes down to best rapper there is none above eminam.there is no one to battle rap with him he is just not a rapper look at his music.he is the realest rapper ever.its very sad when people dont give eminam props.as he said in till i collapse he might never get deserved props.
It’s been so much fun going down this Eminem rabbit hole with you fellas ❤. It was like reliving my first time hearing all of his music and no other reaction channel has done it better than @CartierFamily!
I think I can speak for most of us early subs when I say we miss your Em reactions. You have hundreds of songs left and so many bangers to cover!! Some songs you missed off MTBMB: I Will (Em, Royce, King Crooked) Yah Yah (Em, Royce, Black Thought) Leaving Heaven feat Skylar Gray In Too Deep Never Love Again Killer AND Killer Remix (Em, JHarlow, Cordae)
Eminem deserves to be in the top 10 of all time. The one I feel that so many forget that ALSO belongs in the top 10 that never gets the respect he deserves is TechNine.
Dude em has been my favorite since 1998 . I have followed his career and always been one of his biggest fan since I was 14. I'm 37 now. U have totally gotta really listen to his first 4 albums. That to me he established himself as the best rapper out there.
Im two years older & when he came out everyone lost their fukn minds, we were all huge hip hop heads but his first album the shit he said we couldnt believe it. I seen him in 99' live for 20$, black eyed peas opened for him & got boo'd bcuz ppl wanted to see him so bad.
Until 2013, mmlp2 was the last good album, after that there was only bad stuff, for almost ten years he's only been doing crap and a lot of mainstream.
@Young Ricky Racks Fuck that. Do both of them. Entire relapse album is straight fire. I remember loving it when it came out but hating the accent. As time went on I've grown to overlook the accent. It's his 2nd album imo. Eminem show is the best.
@@joelfrankel708 mane what you said the relapse album is fire but deja vu isn’t as good as 3 AM in my opinion 😂 the Eminem show is definitely one of Ems best projects ‼️
@Young Ricky Racks 3am is an ill song, especially after the opening skit and the energy it kicks the album off with. I just love Deja Vu, easily a top 10 Em song for me. I had a drug problem myself at one point though, and the way he illustrates the thought process of how he tried to justify his addiction and the lies he used to tell himself just to keep popping pills and living in denial... it's so spot on. Like he doesn't over explain it or get too wordy with it, yet at the same time it's so accurate. Idk that song just hits me differently.
@@StylistecS what lolalaise4530 said is a Fact. You have a distorted view of reality due to your unhealthy prejudice mind. It really amazes me (especially in 2023) that people like you can't acknowledge what Eminem has Factually done for hip-hop, all because of his skin color. Ignorance is bliss my friend! For your sake I hope you change your hate, to love n understanding and realize one day All of us humans are only our mind, hearts and souls. Our bodies are just a vehicle to pass through this world to learn, gain wisdom. "We are here to understand chaos & hate, so that we can truly appreciate spending eternity with Love & peace.
Awesome video as usual. Also, I'm digging that Kill Bill poster. Fun fact: Me and my friend designed the patches on Uma's leathers (amongst many other things for Tarantino's films).
Love y'alls reactions. You should do more Rage Against the Machine. Know Your Enemy, Testify, Down Rodeo, Take the Power Back, and so many others are ALL BANGERS. Bars for days...
Not a fan of rap or Eminem not my kind of music but I totally get why he's number one. Why he's respected. Why people wanna be like him. He's the best at what he does if rap is what your into.
Y’all don’t understand the weight of the voice of some of the goats giving him props….Rakim is one of the OGs so it really doesn’t matter what anyone else says. That’s all Em ever wanted was to be respected among his peers and he had to work twice as hard bc he was white. Em gave the respect to the OG’s and he did it the right way. He showed respect to the culture. A lot of people love to hate Eminem…. people who have never ever studied his lyrics. It’s nice to see some of the younger generation giving him the props he deserves.
Ya'll should watch Eminem and Proof freestyle in 99. It's cool to see how close they were and just them doing something they both love together without it having to be a concert.
I wish we lived in a world where Eminem and Mos Def decide to chill on the same stage. Mathematics is in fact one of my favorite songs of all time. Don't even fuck around. You know that would be fire.
I have to say when I first found your channel I was annoyed that you guys talked so much... But now that's my favorite part of your guyses videos... One of my all-time favorite channels keep doing you
Evil Twin by Em is one of his best tracks because he explains how he feels about all this top whatever and the difference between EM and Shady... ALL YEAH HOMIE WITH THE BUCKET HAT WAS RAKIM THE MASTER WHO CREATED WHAT RAP BECAME HANDS DOWN
You guys are so very very awesome, as well as gorgeous. It has been a pleasure watching you guys discover the real Marshall Mathers/Eminem/Slim Shady (watch out for that one). Not just the surface mainstream version of Eminem you only ever hear about now. talk about him. It's hearing it all over again for the first time with fresh eyes and it's wonderful. I thank you for it. I always hate when people write him off, he's just an emcee that really needs to be heard, understood, and listened to to really get it (lyrics help too lol). I was born in 88' & it has been a RIDE, Eminem, Dre, Snoop, 50, D12 were a major part of that ride, everyone from that time even Nelly, Ludacris.. Talk about nostalgia. Wish you guys coulda lived it yourselves, have a feeling you'd of really enjoyed it. But keep studying & following the history like you do and you can still feel it when you do.. Simply Amazon 😍 (PS: I for some reason always find my personal favorite Eminem verse to be in Patiently Waiting, that whole song is a fucking masterpiece, powerful . I remember living 9/11 too, so that song has always just meant something to me) its timeless, thnx for reacting on that too! Been BINGINGGGG 😜
Alot of people try to mimick ems writing style and cadence and fail miserably because they don't understand that his way of writing is not a tactic or a skill but a thought process. It's hard to explain but if I had to explain most rappers write in 2D Em writes in 3D he follows no rules or barriers when writing. He'll force a word to rhyme if he has to and he'll make it sound good.
you guys need to react to the dudes that came before the 90's. I'm talking about Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, Kool G Rap, Public Enemy, KRS-One, LL Cool J. Nas, Em, Jay, Busta and pretty much most of the rap legends of the 90's were influenced by them. They are all disgustingly good. I'd recomment Big Daddy Kane to start off because he gives you the BARSSS and FLOWWW along with the funk.
I mean this respectfully but y’all don’t know too many older rap artists. Maybe start reacting to 90’s Hip Hop , maybe some 80’s. Just saying. Knowledge is power.
You can actually see Jamar die inside whenever Eminem is mentioned. He would kill to have half the skill or half the respect from the O.G.s that matter like Em gets.
Lord Jamar hates EVERYTHING that's not Brand Nubian. It's very rare to hear him say anything positive. He's wrong for it, but he's bitter and funny at the same time
Loving the Stros’ hat. I’ve known y’all were south LA by instinct, for a while, but the Wayne love and H hat, has cemented my suspicions. From a Houstonian. Not enough of us swamp rats are on RU-vid. Thank you for being here.
I'd love to see y'all do "Marshall Mathers" or "Who Knew?" I dont recall seeing y'all do those. If you have then disregard. Haha keep up the good work fellas.
Honestly i havent listened to em since i was a kid and none of his newer shit really ropes me in like that. That being said hes still unique when it comes to rap and he was one of the top for a long ass while
You guys gotta do a “low-cut” on your mix, cut everything below 100 hz. Your Air conditioner creates a hum on your mic, but low cut will help. Thanks for the videos 🤙🏼
