They always have to have the last word, last call, last text, all about control It's really annoying I don't miss it and I'm still healing with N/C and videos as you put out to keep my memory fresh about all the damage he done to me ,like soul chipping away I call it.

I use this technique with my sister. It's easier to do when you realize they don't really care about you anyway.

It definitely does make it an easier position to take when we embrace radical acceptance 💜 Thank you for sharing your comment with us, I hope you're doing well?

I'm a 32-yo male family scapegoat living with my sociopathic parents and sister-in-law with no job in a remote area of Canada. Hope this works, though I'm afraid of how they'll react, given that I defend myself and take the bait everytime normally. They'll definitely notice the change and get physical to get a response.

Oh Chris, this is awful, I'm so sorry to learn about your situation. Is there anyway you can go somewhere else for your own safety? This method does work, but as I mentioned, it does take some time - for us -to get used to using less then natural emotional responses, and for them to adjust to your lack of emotional response before they lose interest in trying to feed off of you in that way. I wouldn't recommend living in this type of environment indefinitely, not at all. If possible, to be used as a strategy with the view to getting far away from the toxicity that you're shielding yourself from, AND having an outlet to experience healthy, normal, human emotions in the meantime. Using the method for protection for toxic people who may be outside of your living conditions (wider family, ex's, work) at least gives you a balance of gray rock and a healthy processing of emotions. I really do hope you can get to safety and wish you nothing but healing, health and happiness. A warm welcome to our community and thank you for sharing so openly with us.

Struggling with lonliness wish I was stronger,20 years all I knew is abuse so cant get use to the new life and feel like someone died?

Hey Janet, I empathise completely with the feeling of loneliness, and breaking from abuse after such a long history of being mistreated. It can feel like you have a feeling of emptiness, and a mountain to climb to heal and experience life in a different way. A healthy and healed way. But you CAN move forward and achieve the life you deserve, I'm.not saying its going to be easy, but I promise you it's going to be worth it. And furthermore, you've now made space for this transformation to take place 💜💫 Take one day at a time and focus on consuming content/books that allows you to learn about yourself, your past experiences, your childhood and how this may have effected your relationship as an adult, learn about the healing process after abuse, join communities of like-minded people, amd if possible seek some therapy to have important conversations about whats happened to you x Practice self care, exercise, see friends and family who you trust, do the little things you enjoy and with a bit of time and consistency, you'll gain more strength, understanding and clarity. Be patient with yourself, you've been through a lot and recovery takes time 🙏 Please do join my upcoming live streams aswell, ill be speaking about healing, rebuilding, and becoming the person that we want to attract in our lives when the time is right. Thank you for being part of our community. Please stay safe 💜
