You seem to have good range of motion and flex through all the suborbital positions of the joint. As a medical practitioner I tell my orthopedic patients that pain and weakness are ok in physio because you are pulling up scar tissues and moving out old inflammation. But in your case you shouldn't resume your full parkour activities until you can do the physio without pain. Patience! And avoid surgery, save that until something is truly broken.

I know how touch this can be. I was so close to getting one of my dream flips (Trinity Flip), but I landed a bit wrong and had to take 2 months off for my knee to fully heal. It paid off cause I'm training again.

Loved every bit of this vid, thanks so much for doing this!! as a freerunner with an ankle injury myself , this is very helpfull I have osteophytes wich limit my range of motion as well and this is my second time, the recovery time is 6 month+- i hope your ankle get's better too

May actually try some of these myself, my ankles are all messed up for multiple reasons and a load of those look like I can do them around the house! Thanks for sharing, keep up the PT, I know it isn’t glamorous but it’s important. Rest and recovery matter!

I'm nothing like the athlete you are, but I've had 2 knee surgeries and a shoulder surgery before 30. Learning to follow the physio plan and not push my body further than it could go was always the hardest part. Keep up the grind, you'll get back.

Hey bro maybe you should add some tib raises to your routine. Proven to be highly effective at protecting ankles from impact and injury.

Inch worms looking good 🤣 use to do these in gymnastics my coach use to make me keep my back flat aslong as i can and try not to arch my back untill near the end (where my feet and toes start to meet up) it engages them abs more and what a burner it was! Good to see you recovering tho man deffo one of my fav's wishing you a speedy recovery bro and keep it up

Stick with all that foundation recov work as long as you have to. Until you can apply more pressure than you need to move on. Just enuff might leave cycling back to it.... Can't wait to hear what the mri guy has to say about it.

Have you considered not making your goal be getting back to where you were? I think the sad fact is that top parkour athletes simply can't stay at the top for more than 5 years or so before one thing or another gives out. It's a tough message, but I think Toby is an inspiration in applying his parkour skills to climbing and other activities. Reinventing one's self is awesome.

Dom if you want real strong ankles, find a long sea wall rock jetty, and hike out to the end a few times a week. Then for fun see how better you can jump rope, you'll be surprised.

You may want to consider wearing ultra minimal footwear more often, especially "sock shoes", like Skinners or Powersocks. They're the closest thing to be being barefoot, without most of the inconvenients. Five fingers shoes are a little bit overengineered imo. More and more research shows that modern shoes cause a myriad of foot and knee related issues, like poor arch strength, hallus vallux, overuse of the heel, knee injuries etc. Tribal people have much better foot health. You can check out Harvard's Daniel Lieberman's talks on this. I know your issues are not tied to wearing shoes per se, but being barefoot may be well be part of good foot health.
