In this video I show you what I ate on AIP (Autoimmune Paleo Protocol) for the end of week 1. Cinco de Mayo fell during this weekend so we had a fiesta that was quite tasty! Plus I talk about the importance of figuring out WHY you do this (hint: it makes it MUCH easier).
Check below for the meals I ate or see all of this written out in a blog post at: thrivingautoim...
And get a ton of free AIP resources like a freezer meal plan, starter guide, etc in my Paleo & AIP Freebie Library: thrivingautoim...
The meals I ate:

I just found your channel and I am really liking your videos. Thanks for all the meal ideas! You should try doing the medical medium celery juice 16 oz first thing in the morning to help build HCL, adrenals and help kill any bad bacteria in the stomach also helps with constipation and so much more. Its helped me :)

Semi-dried plums are the best cure for constipation! I do not know if you can eat them in AIP-diet, but if you have been constipating for a week (which is dangerous) plums and plum juice might make you avoid the trip to a doctor. All old people used to eat plums, because when you get older constipation is more common.

Thnx for sharing, videos are helpful. As for the constipation do u think ur drinking enough water?? As for sleep issues, my husband has a 16 oz glass of water with 2 tsp apple cider vinegar & it helps him sleep thru the nite. He swears by it. Thnx!

Thanks for writing! I definitely think I'm getting enough - I typically get through 2 x 40 oz containers of water each day - and that's with just doing a 40 min walk each day and I hardly ever have constipation. I think when you first change your diet - like by adding different things or removing things, it does tend to cause some constipation - or diarrhea though. Just one of those normal side effects when your gut bacteria is hit with different things. But it's definitely a great suggestion and something to look out for for others who may read this!

Sorry you're struggling - how far along are you? Could you reintroduce anything soon?

You could also try massage for your stomach and low back for the constipation! Sometimes your fascia can get bound up and restrict your ability to have regular bowel movements.

Oh cool - that's a great suggestion! I've never tried that. Can you do self-massage for that or is it best to have someone who knows what they're doing do it?

you probably have h-pylori if you have low stomach acid.
@MicheleSpring
@MicheleSpring 6 лет назад
Not necessarily. I've been tested several times for h. pylori and it's come back negative. Achlorhydria (no stomach acid) and hypochlorhydria (low stomach acid) have been associated with thyroid issues and adrenal fatigue (both issues for me) along with the poor quality of the standard American diet (what probably started it all for me, since my diet was TERRIBLE growing up).

You can actually see exactly how to make it in this video I did a few weeks ago: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-65h8eMH5sKA.html . Just use a white sweet potato!

I just reintroduced an Italian sub today. 🙄 when is it ok to sometimes indulge when you’re eating good the rest of the time? Hate the guilt.
@MicheleSpring
@MicheleSpring Год назад
It really comes down to you and your goals. You aren't doing this for any medals, awards, or to prove to anyone that you can do it, right? You're doing it for your own health. If you indulge in something, then enjoy it. It may set your health goal back a bit, especially if you're using AIP to really discern if there are particular foods that are causing you issues or if you're trying to heal your gut, but don't feel guilt or shame about it. YOU are worth it - your body is worth having respect, and in a year what will matter? The things you indulge in now or the health you're giving yourself for the rest of your life? Trying to eat a restrictive healing diet can be really difficult, especially in our culture, and with how we love to numb feelings of discomfort, guilt, shame, stress - you name it - with food. I am certainly guilty of this so I am not judging AT ALL. But also try to pay attention to those times when you do want an Italian Sub (or other indulgence). Why do you want it? Are you feeling something uncomfortable at the time? Are you trying to fill a void with that food? Is there a way you can do something else? Is there an AIP compliant food you could indulge in instead that still is decadent and helps to fill that void but won't work against you? Not that I advocate for doing this long term as you should learn to process emotions rather than use food - but to get through this short period of your life you gotta do what you gotta do... For me I loved mashed cauliflower (i Know weird, haha), plantain chips, compliant cookies and Paleo on the Go's poptarts. Those were my go-to "I want to cheat so badly and eat all the things because I don't feel great" foods that got me through....
