Watching your book videos always inspires me to go out and pick up a book and spend all day reading, away from the real world. I set a goal of 16 books this year (considering I have the leaving cert to study for) and I can't wait to go out and read all your recommendations. I hope you're having a a lovely time on tour and thank you for being lovely in Dublin in December

**scrambles to get Idaho** I haven't finished On Writing, but a whiiiiiiile ago when I read it I remember being totally shocked at the whole car accident part of his bio! 😱 I just finished reading Murakami's memoir/writing book and really enjoyed it. I think you're right, there's no use in reading about writing as a writer if you never IMPLEMENT the tools, but I must say writing books are becoming a new favourite genre of mine, haha!

I think if I read them for leisure and not information, I could get into them as a non fiction genre for sure!

Your book reviews always remind me of the importance of reading... i used to be a voracious reader but in past years i've sunk deep into the internet and i have been literarily neglectful -_-

I just recently read "The Way of Letting Go" by Wilma Derksen. Similar to how you described Stephen King's book, it is half her story and half what she has learnt (tips, one might say). It is quite sad how she lost her daughter and it was quite interesting to read such a perspective, since I've never been through something like that. The cover art is gorgeous as well. I will have to pick Idaho up sometime, it sounds interesting.

I've been slow at tagging recently too, it bothered me a lot so I'm starting bookclub to try and get myself reading at least two books a month- and hopefully discussing and facilitating discussions about them will enhance the reading experience :)

I know you're a fan of quite dark YA novels so if you're looking for anything to read then I recommend the Half Bad trilogy by Sally Green. It is classified as fantasy and bases around witches who live among us in 21st century England but it also looks at some real life issues which I thought were addressed really nicely. I just finished all 3 in a week because they were hard to put down 😂😊

I believe in that book by Stephen King you mentioned in the video he talks about writing for about 0,5h everyday even if you don't feel like. That really helped me with writing my frist novel, I'd been writing it for 2 years but the majority of it was written in the three months of time just because I made myself to write for at least 0,5h a day. Sometimes it was it, sometimes it pushed me to 4-5-6h session of writing, you never know:)

I look forward to the day when you appreciate GOOD writing rather than cleverness in writing. When you do you will realise it's as rare as rocking horse droppings. 99.9% of books are future toilet paper, that's all.
