I don't entirely agree with your view of Jedi recruitment, maybe the families of the force-sensitive children saw it as an honor to have their younglings become Jedi. You have to consider that before the Clone Wars to be a Jedi was a very respectable position in the Galaxy, the true champions of Justice. Who knows, maybe some children were better off with the order than in their worlds, maybe the families happily gave them away to save them from a life in poverty. Everybody seems to like to accuse the Jedi of being prudish or bad, but that only reflects the lack of understanding in the context: to be a Jedi was probably the greatest honor in that galaxy. A force for good, kindness and compassion in a Galaxy filled with bounty-hunting scum, mercenaries and gangsters. Think how many times in your life you've wanted something like the Jedi to exist to stop dictators, killers, mob-bosses, drug dealers or the like. To be a Jedi, meant giving hope to those who have none.

One thing you overlooked was Dooku. If Qui Gon survived because he never had to worry about Anakin, Dooku would never have left the order, or at least wouldn't have joined the Sith. This would mean that he wouldn't have enlisted Sifo Dyas to help him commission the Clone Army, thus giving Sidious no army to execute Order 66 and no apprentice. This changes things dramatically.

Who someone is is largely a product of the environment they are raised in so it is very very difficult to know the answer because anakin would be somewhat of a different person.

actually, im thinking that 3po would have still been built, as anakin had a natural aptitude in mechanics, but, he would have been completed much faster, submitted as a jedi class tech project, and then given to the jedi temple as a whole, to serve as a protocol droid in the temple's general droid pool.

And Jar Jar would've probably died in the Battle of Naboo, so he couldn't have promoted to give the Chancellor emergency powers. Also it might never had come that far, if Queen Amidala woud've been stuck on Taatoine or might even have died there, so she couldn't have been on Coruscant to speak to the Senate and promote a vote of no trust in chancellor valorum (or however it was called), so Palpatine maybe never had become Chancellor...

Episode idea: Rey's parents. I know, but hear me out. The actor Daisy Ridley said she thought the movie made her parentage obvious, yet everyone still seems to question it. It's a popular subject in spite of how obvious it is. Ready for the reveal? Her parents are dead. Who they were is less important than who they knew. They aren't coming back, and here's why I think that. Moz Kanata said it just after Rey's force vision: Moz: "They aren't coming back, but there is still someone who could..." Rey: "Luke Skywalker..." I think Rey's parents knew Luke, somehow. For reasons I won't speculate on, they had to abandon her on Jakku. Fast forward to the end of the movie, Luke turns to look at Rey, and again, it's obvious that he knows who she is, because he knows who her parents are. I know it's fun to assume Rey is somehow the grand daughter of Obi Wan Kenobi, or that Luke Skywalker is her father, but there is no basis to think any of that is true, especially given Ridley's comments, and due to what Moz Kanate told her. We can't discover exactly who her parents are until possibly episode 8, but we can assume they knew Luke in some fashion.

Would Anakin's engineering talent have been fostered in the jedi temple? Maybe he would have built a different droid. The battle of Naboo wouldn't have gone to the trade federation since Padme captured the viceroy. Besides preventing the deaths of more gungans and naboo pilots Anakin wasn't crucial to the victory. (Unless you believe the stranded jedi on tatooine wouldn't have gotten the parts to fix their ship and get to naboo in time).

Would the join the rebels and be able to bring peace back to the galaxy, or would Anakin finally bring true order to the force? And how would he bring true order to the Force had he not turned to the dark side?

Having successfully stopped the formation of a galactic empire, Anakin would have honed his powers as a Jedi to the point where even Yoda could not compare. Being an old, wise Grand Master of the Jedi, Anakin would realize his destiny and be able to coerce the force into balance through intense meditation. Anakin would be able to use the force to balance the force.

Anakin likely would've excelled as a jedi since he's the chosen one. At the same time, Palpatine would likely try to turn Anakin to the dark side by pairing him with a dark side master. Perhaps this would lead Count Dooku to never leave the order and instead become Anakin's master, seeding the dark side into his character. Dooku, however, would train Anakin to become his own dark apprentice, and eventually, to defeat Palpatine. At the end of the day, Anakin would likely defeat both Dooku and Palpatine. This is because he was the chosen one, so he would be trained heavily and doted on by the council, specifically Yoda. With deep seeded loyalty to the jedi from Yoda, paired with some of Anakin's reckless tendencies (which may or may not be prevalent) Anakin might lead Dooku on to learn of the Grand Sith plan, eventually defeating Dooku and informing the council of his discovery. At this point, we'd assume that the clone wars began swifter than in canon, and that order 66 would still be carried out. More jedi would be in the temple as well. Palpatine, upon sensing Dooku's defeat, would commence the order to try to delay the jedi from catching him. Anakin, however, would catch up to Palpatine and make a heroic stand against him. This would be a battle between the perfect jedi, the chosen one, versus the Grand Sith Lord. Anakin would be able to defeat Palpatine, since Mace Windu was able to and it's widely agreed that Anakin was as strong a jedi as Mace, however, the clone armies on Coruscant would be protecting Palpatine. Inevitably, Palpatine and Anakin's duel would swell until the other members of the jedi order arrived, giving Anakin the advantage. At this point, I have 2 theories: 1. Palpatine would fight till the end, overestimating himself and ultimately being defeated by the chosen one. Now, with the Supreme Chancellor out of power, Order 66 would be redacted. The jedi order would still have taken a heavy blow however and would likely be subject to remanagement, partly because of the Grand Sith Plan almost succeeding, and partly because now Anakin would be a high ranking member of the order. He would likely better understand both sides of the force since he was trained both by the jedi and the Sith Dooku. By defeating Palpatine the order would put their trust into him, perhaps even making him Master of the Order. With this power, he would restructure the jedi into a more neutral force, bring balance to the force once more. 2. This one is purely more interesting. Assuming that Palpatine wouldn't trust Dooku to get the job done, Palpatine might turn Obi Wan to the dark side as a sleeper agent in case Anakin would not join him. Upon the jedi's arrival and Palpatine's incapacitation, Palpatine would awaken Obi Wan, who would turn on his jedi friends. He would attempt to kill Anakin, allowing Palpatine to escape and forcing Anakin to kill his best friend. This would lead Anakin on a dark path to locate Sidious for vengeance for Obi Wan's betrayal. Anakin would likely leave the order, being crushed that they could be so blind to Obi Wan's fall, and set out to destroy Sidious, immensely imbalancing the force. This theory would likely lead to years more war and would give off an "old republic" type vibe, as no true winner of the light or dark would come out on top. Thanks for reading this if you got this far lol. I just thought these were some more cohesive and interesting ideas for an alternative Anakin Skywalker :)

In this time line Qui Gon would have likely survived the duel with Maul having Kenobi at his side. Qui Gon being a grey Jedi - more 'balanced' if you will, would have imparted influence over Anakin. And Anakin having in intrinsic thirst for knowledge and reverence to the Force likely would have adopted Qui Gon's ideals and in a round about way still fulfilled the prophecy and brought 'balance' to the force. Phew, what a mouthful. I do appreciate your work. Also, a timeline where Gungans get slaughtered is a good timeline. >:)

I'd like to see a part 2 that explores what would have happened with Anikan and Padme and if Luke and Leia were even conceived.

The farther back a change happens, the more random and unpredictable events later on will be. who’s to say it would be anakin, yoda, obi-wan, and mace that survive? Who’s to say a Jedi doesn’t have a premonition that tells them to bring young anakin to naboo? I mean if he didn’t go to Naboo he would’ve never met padme. The entire Star Wars story seems so rigid, that everything had to play out exactly as it was shown and that the story couldn’t have been achieved any other way. And the whole story seems to pivot upon anakin being found when he was an older child. Perfect example of the butterfly effect.

Here's a question: what if the hyperdrive on Queen Amidala's ship wasn't damaged and they were able to go to Coruscant? How would Anakin fulfill his destiny?
