The problem with this "what if" scenario is that it makes one huge assumption: that the world between worlds can be used for time travel. So far we haven't seen any indications that it can. The fact that Ahsoka returns to her own time where she risks facing Vader again suggests to me that while you can pull someone through the gate you can't actually travel to other times.

This was my exact thought of how to put Star Wars back on track. Have Rey time travel back to save Kylo and that starts a chain reaction that leads to Luke traveling back to THAT moment in Revenge of the Sith and battling Palpatine with Anakin. Think about Anakin meeting Luke and Luke gets to flip the script on him and tell him "I am your son.." Probably a pretty obvious thing to do but if played right I think it'd bring the house down. End it with Rey marrying Ben on Alderaan with Luke, Han, Leia, an elderly Anakin and Padme and a super old Ewan/Obi-Wan and Yoda there. Do it while Hamill and Ford and McDiarmid are still alive. Maybe not perfect but I think that's better than where Rise of Skywalker leaves it..

It’s best to just leave things alone. Like it or not, anakin turning to the dark side was a necessity. The Jedi were given the ability to reform themselves and no longer act like politicians or stick to their outdated code through Luke. The Sith were also defeated through the death of sidious and Vader himself. So anakin’s fall, while it caused many deaths, was ironically better for the galaxy in the long term.

At least this sequal begging is better than the the other one
