The aliance/new republic would definetley have isues with Anakin after what he did as Vader. The problem is it would not be justice to exicute him. Punishmen is ment to stop criminal action and he was ready to stop so exicution would be revenge for all those aliance members. Exiling him or somethin like a near or complete life sentence in a cell would be punishment and one he may well except. Anakin could also take on a new Identity. How manny people know Anakin in the clone wars became Vader? His name may have ben heard thruout the galaxy but he was probeley thought dead and he would be recognized as neather Vader ( withought his black armor) or the hero Anakin of the clone wars.

@@TheManBehindTheSlaughter6669 force healing isn't a power to use lightly as if theres no tomorrow, one exception is as a device for games, but games are another beast and even so, in the recent Star Wars games like Fallen Order, it isn't part of it. As i understand this power should be consider a master level power and not one to be used by any padawan. Also, the sequels are bs, i didn't even bother to watch the Last Jedi, and at this point anything that Disney done with the franchise isn't going to make me lose my time to bother... I stick with the UE... or legends as it is called this days...

I think the reality is that Vader (even if he could forgive himself), would never be forgiven by the Galaxy (or the rebellion). He was forgiven by Luke, which is all he really needed to die happy. Evidence of this could also be seen by nobody being at his funeral (besides Luke).

Even if, and thats a huge if Luke and or Vader was somehow able to use the force to sustain him (when ROTJ was released these powers were not yet cannon (I think)) how would they have gotten him a new suit, bacta tank, meditation chamber etc in time and make it off the Death Star? It had already been sometime since the suit was damaged. This theory is a huge reach and not really worth exploring as its nonsensical

And Snoke wasn't Canon either at that time either, nor Vader's Mustafar castle (I think). Its not exactly supposed to be sensible, but it is pretty cool to explore and I know that I enjoyed this video. So there you go.

This is such a rich concept. Luke’s forgiveness of his father while Leia has seen first hand too much of the destruction, not to mention her ‘father’ Vader killing her adopted family and world essentially. On top of that, the Galaxy would surely want Vader’s head on a platter, and Leia vs Luke on that notion would be so intense.

The rebellion acted tough on crime when threatening Jyn Erso but also apparenlty didn't execute Mof Giddeon like Cara Dune thought, so maybe they don't have the death penalty. @@zengunslinger idt that gideon survive because there is no death penalty, basicly because we knew that extrajudicial executions were not that rear. basicly i think that moff gideon was never really captured. one of the main problems of the new republic was that they take control surprisely, thet weren't prepered, and corruption were pretty much general. soo most probable, gideon controle the ones who captured him (if he was capture really) were corrupted. or more easy, gideon have an army of his side, probably he was rescuted pretty fast. idk

Then he and Luke tell the story of how Darth Vader faked his own death to give the galaxy and the new republic the satisfaction of him "dying" and Luke taking him to a different place to get help before going back to Endor with the Darth Vader suit to burn it. But then explaining the force ghost would be different. Then it carries on with him teaching Ray whatever she needed to know. To me it sounds like a better plot than the entire new trilogy 😂

Dude you just fixed the sequels In my opinion I would add kylo being power hungry just like anakin on revenge of the sith rather than just trying to finish something that his grandfather started which in the end he changed his mind and rejoined the light side. In this way kylo would be much more like anakin than how Disney's script made him. And it would be great if kylo never joined the light side again. In this way we could have a rey against kylo fight as an end fight And if Palpatine's return was a bit more ditaled and palpatine wasn't a puppet with a robot instead of strings we would also have a Vader against sidious fight two old grand masters. Return of the Skywalker would have a real meaning. The return of anakin Skywalker.

It's an interesting concept (I was really hoping Snoke would indeed turn out to be Darth Plagueis), but you forgot one key line from RotJ. When Luke said "but you'll die" he responded "nothing can stop that now". He was beyond medical help at that point and he knew it. He didn't choose to die, he knew he was dying and beyond help so he wanted to see his son before the inevitable.

More than likely, Anakin would have faced charges of treason, genocide, mass murder and spousal abuse just to name a few. Had he been truly redeemed, he would accepted responsibility and judgements for his crimes. Perhaps, with Luke's insistance to the Senate and Leia's support, Anakin could have served his sentence by sharing Imperial secrets and aiding the Republic in their fight against the Empire. Given enough time, Anakin wouldve have earned the trust of the Republic and, eventually, a pardon. Once the Empire had been finally defeated, Luke And Anakin would begin training new Jedi with the elder Skywalker serving as an example to future Padawans of the Dark Side and it's perils.

Well grounded idea, but I don't think the New Republic would have kept him alive. Even if he shares all the information and helps bring down the empire, they would have made a show trial and sentenced him with the harshest punishment, just to show the galaxy, they caught and punished the figurehead of the Empire. Very symbolic destruction of that tyranny. Also if you think about it in real life terms. If a mass murdering, dispicable, zealous ISIS terrorist leader would think through his life, see the error of his ways, showed honest regret, and wanted to atone, gave himself up... would that exonerate him from the punishment of those crimes? I don't think so.

I think that it depends on exactly what the legal system within their government is. Once the government is reformed, will it see itself as a legitimate legal continuation of the old government or as a different government altogether that declared complete independence from the past? What is their policy toward former government officers? Would Vader be a "former" government officer, or would he technically maintain his status? Would he inherit the Emperor's government position and have certain special protections that would have to be phased out? Could someone give him a special pardon? While immoral, were Vader's atrocities technically crimes, or were they legal (insert Episode I meme here). Would he be given a special protection status as the last remaining remnant of the Jedi order and therefore essential for keeping a major galactic society from going extinct? Are defectors who take down the Empire given special pardons?

@@briancarlson6216 attachments had nothing to do with his turn to the dark side it was his inability to accepting the loss of said attachments. which he held even more closer to his heart because they were forbidden. The fall of the Jedi Order in Anakin's day was the result of them was their refusal to allow attachments. they cut themselves off from life essentially monks looking down from a tower judging people. There's a reason why the most powerful force users are the ones that actually experience life both the bad parts and the good parts. If memory serves me correctly the grey Jedi and the basis of Luke's order was on the principle of experience seen both with allowing attachments but also teaching the acceptance of loss of the attachments properly. Or at least it may have originally but Disney owns it now so any logic our consistencies out the window

Bloodline the book. Explains how Lea was treated as it was revealed that Vader was her father. No spoilers but it was pretty bad... So, yes, people would have asked for Vaders head. Also, force sensitives feel the dark and the light it depends on how they are trained not their "Force DNA." If we go the Midichlorians route. These only help in reading if you are Force sensitve or not.

The actor had eyebrows in the Lucas-original scene. The CGI in the Lucas-revised scene burned the eyebrows off. So both versions of Vader's eyebrows are true. From a certain point of view.
