If you traveled 10,000 years into the future, what would planet Earth look like? Would most of its surface be covered in volcanoes? Or would it be frozen in ice? What if you traveled even further, to one million years in the future? Would all of the oceans have evaporated? Or would it have become one giant water world? Now, what about one billion years? Would there be any humans left? Or would they have settled in other parts of the galaxy?

Man, I really hope there's some form of continuity after death. Even if it's just limited to sight, I want to see parts of the universe and whatever is beyond it. I want to see what distant planets look like up close. I want to see the things out there that are so bizarre and strange that defy what science says can't happen on Earth.

I’m an astral projector and I frequently am able to leave my body at night when I sleep. Yes this is real, no drugs or drinking involved like some may think. I’ve been doing it since I was 8 years old. Yes, there is continuity when you die. And yes you can travel and see whatever you want, afterwards. I’ve been to places and seen things outside of this world that I can’t put into words, I wish I could. I’m not spiritual or religious, etc. it’s just an ability I was given. No one has anything to fear after death…atleast from what I’ve experienced.

I would be impressed if it was like an episode of Futurama. Prof Farnsworth built a Time Machine that only went forwards in time..he, fry, and bender got to see how everything will be up to the end of times…except time goes back to the beginning ..so not only do they end up seeing the end of the universe…they also see the Big Bang and the universe come to be.

fun fact: you would die if you travel 1 billion years in the future, since in aproximatelly 1 billion years from now, the sun's luminosity would be too much brighter than it is now, the temperature would be too high making life on earth almost impossible.

What's interesting about all of this, is the fact that this is what would happen if all natural processes were to continue without intervention. But, assuming we haven't died off or moved to another planet by that time, we would certainly have the technology to say, stop an asteroid from colliding, or letting our moon get too far away. We are talking millions of years and look at our technological growth in just 100. Again assuming we are still around at that time, I seriously doubt most of these things would be a threat to us anymore.

Whatever "us" might mean. Judging by how quickly the interface between the human brain and our gadgets has become more transparent (think of the distance between patch cords & punch cards to speech and gesture recognition) , it's reasonable to imagine a sort-of cyborg-like humanity rather long before we've set out for the nearest stars in colony ships built from hollowed-out asteroids.

i'm not so confident we'll even be here by that 10k years after... the earth has been struggling to sustain us for years TT and no matter how resilient, innovative and advance we become, i feel like it would be the earth itself that will be exhausted of its life and resources long before that TT be it man-made or natural disaster, people wiped out or select few are chosen to participate a trial to acclimatize and live on another
