fomori vault looks insane in greasefang (at least commander) the discard makes it good even when you arent overloaded on artifacts or to keep looping the same vehicle over and over and the card selection helps find more vehicles

Channel is an ability word, not a keyword, meaning it's there for flavor. Maybe they didn't think Channel fit the plane's theme, but it is interesting since Channel was originally on spirits like this.

tbh having every ability word linked to a specific bit of flavor from past sets seems extremely messy especially for cases where the ability is well liked and becomes deciduous

Honestly I think it's probably pretty playable in most non-green two-color decks. Like, my Alela just incidentally has fourteen artifacts. Pretty easy to have three or four of them in play at a time.

I think you are missing the point of Vista. It reads for each color. Technically you can max this out at 4 mana.

He didn't miss that, he mentioned it with the "A Killer Among Us" 'synergy'. Getting 5 mono-colored permanents on the battlefield is just not going to happen.

Tarnation Vista is the trap many people will realize soon enough (and regret to craft/buy it) Ancient Cornucopia would have been wild in Azorius or Esper Control... But making this card green instantly killed it, sadly. Fomori Vault is a great card, especially with Enigma Jewel to activate it for 1 and have at least 1 artifact on the board. And if you happen to turn it into the Locus of Enlightenment, you get to dig for 2 cards by discarding only 1.

Tarnation Vista in my standard token deck will produce 4 mana pretty regularly. Pretty excited.

generous plunderer is a nice build around. If you give your oponent powerstones and play 4 of them with the red insta clone card, it can make for a functionning burn deck that incidentally hates on artifacts. There is food subtheme in standard, most decks have crap lying around.

I think Tarnation Vista should be viewed much more as a decent mana fixer with an occasional bonus. It'll be good, not great, in multi-colored decks, but the last ability will usually be irrelevant by the time it can be activated for value.

The land already requires mana fixing to set up. You need 3+ mono colored permanents of different colors for the land to even have an effect.

@CrowsofAcheron you need that to get net gain out of the 2nd tap ability, but you get to povk any color when it comes in, and it taps for that anytime. That's not extra mana, but it's certainly fixing, and with no setup.

Isn’t that land perfect with that new ajani coming out that makes both a white and red permanent. I feel like there’s something there but in a deck where you run a bunch of cheap mono coloured permanents what’s your pay off for extra mana.

My current thought with Tarnation vista (in standard) is using monocolored battles such as invasion of gobakhan, Ixalan, Tarkir and Innistrad. They sit on the battlefield and can’t be remove very easily (and if they are getting removed, you’re opponent is probably giving you a two for one out of the deal).

Generous Plunderer is like a red commander staple no? Buffing Dockside and Cavern hoard Dragon. Just give it to the person with the most Mana rocks and you get value from Cavern hoard and plunderer's attack

I believe you misread Generous Plunderer… It actually reads at the beginning of your upkeep create a treasure token and commit a crime. 😳 Every turn… Thank me later when you figure the rest out.

Tarnation could see play in theft decks like gonti or senn triplets in commander, and like you noted any permanent that makes off-colour tokens make it easier to activate profitably. Torenz of the swarm in Boros maybe?

Harvester of Misery will be great in my Bringer of the Last Gift pioneer list. That and the big ol' armadillo that was spoiled early on. With these new cards a standard Bringer list might even emerge. More channel (but not channel) cards? Yes please.

Tarnation Vista seems reasonable in domain: Its mainly GW, but it can splash other colors fairly reasonably, and it still cares about having as much extra mana as possible, while also having a lot of incidental permanents left on the battlefield (Invasion of Zendikar, Leyline Binding). Notably, you can "cheat" on its activated ability with both enigma jewel and sunken citadel, so you could get 4 mana out of 3 lands with 1 citadel and 2 vistas, for example. Still not great if you have to jump through this many hoops, but eh.

My biggest problem with these big score cards for arena is that no one wants to use their mythics for them. Like some of them seem playable if you only had to spend uncommons on them like they seem intended but they’re mythics.

I declare here and now. Green is utterly broken and utterly dominant in commander, and it's time. MLD is officially OK. Nobody will complain and if they do that doesn't matter. Smash all the lands, and if they have a problem with it say then don't play green.
