My gallbladder was removed several years ago, emergency situation, and the doctor/s never told me any of this stuff! Why aren't they better at informing you of the changes that go on after they remove your gallbladder? That's really annoying! Thanks for this video, you really explained a lot of things I never knew!
@@nancyfahey7518 that seems absurd to me! I mean if the doctor does your surgery surly they can tell you what to expect during your healing and afterwards.
It is up to us to research true health and disease prevention. Then with that information do experiments and see what works for us individually. Thankfully there are so many great medical teachers here on youtube! Let us rejoice! Thank you Dr Berg!
@@chillytoes337 when my gall bladder was removed, they never told me any of this, nor did he tell me what to expect. At my post-surgery follow-up, I asked about how this procedure changed my body, and what I should eat. He said everything was fine, and that I could eat whatever I wanted to eat. OMGosh, not-so-true! I am so thankful that Dr Berg posts these videos, at least he will give a truthful answer!!
@@CalmVibesVee I have to disagree! That's like saying that when we take our car to a mechanic we should know how to fix it or what needs to be done! Isn't that what we're paying the specialist for, the mechanic, to know and do? Yes, I think we need to be "informed" but it's the doctors responsibility to lead us in the right direction IMHO.

The fact that we get gallstones at all is a great indicator that our "food" is toxic. Over processed and full of bad fats, sugars, fillers and preservatives that cause these formations. When an attack hits, you KNOW you are dying. You cant stop sweating, you cant get enough air, the pain is EXCRUCIATING. I threw up 14 times in 4 hours. I ended up so dehydrated, I passed out when they tried to get blood and they had to do a sternum rub to wake me up (chest bruised super bad from that). It was a nightmare. Do keto now people and save yourself the horror.
Dr Berg, you changed my life with the bile salt formula for gallbladder and vitamin d3 and k2. I was sick almost constantly with respiratory infections and coughing constantly. I had bronchitis monthly.I had my gallbladder removed years ago. After researching and finding you, I realized I couldn't digest fats and believe I had silent reflux and immune issues. My vitamin d levels were low even though I took a supplement. Enter bile salts and your d3 supplement and I havent been sick with respiratory issues in a year since I started. Boom. Gone. I am so grateful to you. No dr could figure out my issues and all my respiratory tests were normal. I'm next going to try your suggestions for cervical osteoarthritis and your sleep formula.
Thank god for you Dr.Berg, the health sector has been swollen up by egotism, and people are ready to operate on you for the sake of the business, honestly, I'm so thankful for you that I'm shedding a few tears while writing this. And the truth is that doctors take advantage of the patient's lack of knowledge and manipulate them how they want. I'm suffering from pigment stones at the age of 18 and I have always been skinny all my life and now that you mention lousy gut flora, I'm starting to think that there is a long-term parasite infection that causes the bad recycling of bile and leading to 200 small pigment stones, most doctors want to operate me even though they are the size of a spec. I'm asymptomatic most of the time and I have had 2 attacks one year apart. but for that to happen only recently do you think that my gallB. dysfunction has been going on for a while or is it a drastic occurrence. Deep down I know it can be resolved I just need the right diagnosis.
I was listening one American doctor who was saying: No oil! No fats! And I stopped to take any kind fats, one year later I had severe pain in my right side abdomen and all right side including right shoulder, I was diagnosed with gallstones. Now I trying to follow d-r Berg recommendations and see if it will help to save my gallbladder.
How about trans fat ? Doctors told me I had stones but they couldn't see any in X-ray or ultra sound. I found out the problems came ONLY when eating food with trans fats, common 25 years ago. They told this was impossible and GUARANTEED removal of the bladder would solve the problems with no side effects. Of course a big lie. They did a surgery and a lot of meaningless and dangerous "tests". I still get sick of trans fat and the surgery made me even more sick every day. They refused to give me the journals, they claimed they couldn't be found or they were lost. I eat fat soluble vitamins and are better. In my country health care is controlled by politicians and so is the justice. This is a warning for bad and corrupted hospitals, and we have a lot of them. Socialist countries are the worst. I've had this problem for years. Digestive "specialists" have no answers for me. I haven't tried bile salts yet, though I want to. But one thing I've been doing for awhile now which does help with the uncomfortable swelling in my upper gut is Milk Thistle.
@@Rama_248 It depends. Be careful which one you choose. I like 'Liver Support with Milk Thistle - 70 MG - 80% Silymarin (100 Tablets)' from Vitamin Shoppe. I take one with meals, especially meals with a lot of fat. I haven't had any problems with this one. Some others though have caused itching.

If you have gallstones and the tube is not clogged up yet, can you do something to cause those stones to break down and dissolve and avoid the removal of the gallbladder? This leads to the next question. What is a liver flush? What are the herbs used to stimulate bile production for the liver flush? Is it important to get the estrogen or cortisol down so the liver will make bile?
Dr I have faced 3 attacks in the last 3 months and found out I have gallstones and one of them is 2.6 mm. Everyone is telling me I have to remove the gallbladder but I don't want to remove it. Worst pain In world similar to labor but I removed gallbladder and still having attacks, I believe I was also having stomach spasms. They hurt just as bad as gallbladder attacks,
My stupid dr said I had gallstones. A few days later I ended up in the ER. Was a hernia! They pushed it back in and a week later had surgery to repair it. It’s no wonder I don’t trust Drs.
What was your symptoms with your hernia? I'm having abdominal pain since last December. I got x rays, and an ultrasound to check the gallbladder but nothing showed up. I'm going for a CT scan next but even when my pain eases I'm still aware of my stomach all the time. When I bent over or lift something heavy etc.
The CT will show what it is. I had a large bulge just below my breast bone. Was painful to touch. In the beginning the bulge kinda came and went. You can feel if you have a hernia. Just push around where you think it could be.
I'm rolling and crying in agony almost every night now and haven't pooed in days.. I'm dying here. They're going to take my gallbladder out next month but my insurance is unwilling to clear the surgery! I'll probably end up having to admit myself as an emergency patient at this rate. I don't eat any sugar and have completely stopped eating takeout and only eat home food.
Hi Dr. Berg.. Please do a video on gallbladder polyps.. I have some since 2010 but it has increased in number in a few years. They are around 7mm in size max though. I have gallstones symptoms BTW.
Need 500 MG of cholesterol to produce bile. But then how did the cholesterol stones not induce the production of more bile in the first place? Why did the cholesterol concentrate in the gallbladder without inducing more bile?
That's the pancreas. It uses the same duct and if a gall stone is lodged it can back up the pancreatic enzymes and they can act on the pancreas (it's trying to digest it) and you can get pain. You treat the same as if you were having pain on the right as it has the same cause.
I had a bad gallbladder since I was a kid and horrible pain. But never stones. Doctors misdiagnosed me for years because I was young and thin. Can you be born with a bad gallbladder?
Could you please do a video on the side effects of taking birth control pills? Most people don't seem to believe me that they cause all sorts of problems. It caused HBP in me.
great info as usual thx! At our clinic we use a bile salt product called Cholacol from Standard Process and a few others to thin the bile such as Betafood
After reading in a men's health magazine a way to purge the gallbladder I tried the procedure. Just like clockwork the stones were released. They were olive green and black inside. After this purge I could again eat fatty foods without the nausea sometime latter. Also aches and pains seem to go as well.
@@jld4870 it goes quite simply. On a Saturday after a lite lunch no more eating. At 6pm one teaspoon of Epsom salts and drink. Again at 8pm and then before bed at 10pm have a half and half of grapefruit juice and olive oil. It doesn't taste as bad as it sounds. You will have an unsettled night but once the olive oil makes your gallbladder convulse then the stone will come away in the morning. I caught what came away and was surprised at the range in sizes the stones were. I stopped counting at 140. Read the risk of getting a stone stuck in your bile ducts.... but it worked for me twice.

Well okay, so in December 2018 I go on Low Fat Whole Food Plant Based Diet and in three months I ended up in ER with gallbladder attack, had to have emergency surgery next morning. WTF I don't know who to trust.
SOME pain?!? Dr. Berg, I've had two broken bones, had a full mastectomy with chemo and radiation after but nothing compares to the pain of gall stones! I begged my mother to kill me to end the pain after each attack I had with gall stones. The continuous vomiting for hours, until a dark blood-like substance was all that would come up. The best thing I ever did was have my gall bladder removed! That year I was in the hospital 9 times before they decided to remove it.
@@Kube_Dog Your friend was very fortunate. I have several friends who regret having their gallbladder removed, now that they know the whole truth of the matter. Their doctors weren't as forthcoming.
@@vickieturner8688 yeah, the first easy answer of many doctors is: we have to remove it... I opposed to it, and I'm here 2.5 year later after the diagnosis of that 'necessary' surgery.
I have gallstones but do not suffer from gallbladder attacks, I went for a scan recently and they were discovered incidentally. Dr Berg mentions that the microbes in the gut are very important in the recycling of bile. I had my appendix removed 30 years ago, the function of the appendix is to produce and protect beneficial probiotics in the gut and act as reserve for good bacteria. therefore just wondered if people with no appendix are more vulnerable too developing gallstones.
My gallblader is enlarged (9.7?) Had an ultrasound today. What causes this issue?? I have been dealing with digestive issues on/off for years. It all started when i had my thyroid glands removed when i was 12. I am 50 yrs old now. I do not want to remove my gallbadder. Also, should i be concerned about my pancreas..?? I appreciate you Dr Berg... and the Community God Bless!!
I went to the ER for this exact thing! But they did an ultrasound and saw nothing- Completely normal. I’ve had one more attack since then and I just know that this is what I’m experiencing! It lasts like 5 hours.
Consider an MRI OR other scan with the contrast. I'm not sure of the name of the non evasive contrast solution. I had the galladium and hated to have it administered. Me and my husband prayed over it and today I’m fine. I also was told that if taking the galadium to use copper pills afterwards to get it out of your system. So I ordered some. I’m doing well and it’s been about 2 months.
You guys im sitting in hospital room right now waiting on an mri. After a CT scan Drs already told me i have an obstructed bile duct, it may be a gall stone. And they are saying I should have my gallbladder removed to prevent more stones from forming. But they're aren't even sure it for sure is a gall stone yet.. Why are they so quick to remove our organs, just doesn't seem right! Im thinking is there really no alternative?? Im so glad I found you Dr Berg🙏 Thankyou for helping me understand.
Found I had gal stones and my worst symptom was back pain so bad I couldn't breath??? Is that a symptom? I have back pain all the time but a flare up sends me to the ER. What can I do besides getting it out
Hibiscus + Ginger - helped me a lot for reducing inflammation, increasing circulation, and helping to clear out all of those little ducts everywhere. - Question - at 3:15 when you say bile extracts the fat soluble vitamins, and also eliminate excess amount of cholesterol, what is the pathway of that waste? does it go back to the liver again? or lymph? what is the last path before the remainder is sent to the Colon to be eliminated. really would like to know this. thank you!!

Good morning Doctor. Twelve years ago I had a gallbladder attack. I have a history of type 2 diabetes and high cholesterol. At the time I contacted my dr. brother and he advised against taking the gall bladder out. fast forward eleven years my gall bladder ruptured, left lung, collapsed, and kidneys shut down. Thanks to some angel doctors here in Mexico I was saved and have made a full recovery now on a low carb diet. Thanks for all you do.
So my husband only get attacks when he eats something high in fat as his first meal of the day. If he eats a banana first, then he can eat high fat without having an attack. He also gets attacks if he fasts or does intermittent fasting. He’s been getting them since he was very little. He is now 40. He can feel the the effects all day long and the nausea/vomiting always hits him at night. Once he vomits, he gets relief. Any insight?
You briefly mentioned sluggish gallbladder - can you go more into that or do you have a video on that? How can a sluggish gallbladder be improved? It's causing issues and I want to know more about how to fix it. Can it also be hereditary? (parent who has had the same issues).
Got diagnosed with gallstones on Friday...I'm trying to learn what I can but I'm so confused. Eating fat was what caused the attack that sent me to the ER. It was so painful I couldn't walk or talk. I believe what you're saying about increasing fat but, what if the stones are already present? Won't that send me into another attack? I'm terrified of that happening ever again.
I've had severe pain in my stomach & felt like all my organs were "blocked" last night & two nights ago. It was very bad, the first night it begun at 4 am & lasted until 8 am. Last night, it begun at 4 am again (which is weird) & lasted until 5 am but it was way more severe. I suffer from depression and anxiety so I thought that was the cause but now I'm kinda worried...
Great content thank you! Now I understand why a couple times a month I get nausea and right side problems even tho I’m Keto and I.F. Thought it was hormone related which makes sense if high estrogen is a cause as well. 🙏

However I live in the U.K and the cost of shipping it in and then the tax we have to pay to import is astronomical so I can’t buy it anymore till there is a uk distributor. I don't have gallstones as I had a scan, but my bile duct gives me pain after I've eaten carbs. I'm low carbing but fall off the wagon occasionally. I'm fine if I stay off the carbs. The GP tells you that fat triggers the bile duct, but this isn't true. When I had my first severe attack it was after eating a fatty meal though. I feel sickly and uncomfortable after having carbs these days.
I wonder if statin drug use along with reducing cholesterol production could consequently by way of reducing bile production (so, a lack of removing excess cholesterol) eventually actually do the opposite as designed and increase cholesterol levels?
I recently had a gallbladder attack. Started with shivers, diarrhea, then uncontrollable spasmodic hiccups and belching. Went for a scan at the naturopath and found there were no stones, just sludge. I'm on several things (homeopathic) to thin the bile and acidify the stomach, etc. However a few days into the regime, my stools are hard, almost to the point of constipation. So I'm wondering what to do next. Thank you for all of your informative videos! You're a beacon of knowledge in a world full of misinformation often perpetrated by the food industry.
Drink fresh celery juice. 😊 . Every morning, on empty stomach, for at least 1 month. You can combine it with carrots, and green apples. You can put some beet too. But the ingredient to solve your constipation because of gallbladder is celery stalks.
Good morning, Dr. Berg... look for your videos every day. I so appreciate everything you do.. Quick question. my husband had his gallbladder removed in 1999 (emergency situation too) He does not have the constipation issue, but once he eats anything, he has to stay around a bathroom. Not diarrhea either. What is causing that instant urge to HAVE to go? BTW, The surgeon told him, he had to have it removed. He regrets it of course.
Thank you for making this video. Can you do a video explaining what to eat, good supplements and overall recommendations on living without a gall bladder? Thank you
As always, very helpful and very interesting. I was 17 years old, healthy, athletic when I first got gallbladder stones diagnosed. Finally after a few years and many gallbladder attacks I had it removed. I feel generally fine now but wonder if IF or keto is something that is recommendable? Tried to find answers but couldn’t. Logically thinking, I would say not recommended. What’s your take on it?

Can taking cholesterol medicine be a hindrance? Can gall bladder problems include diareah even if you still have your gall bladder? I'm starting to wonder if I'm having gall bladder attacks.
My gallbladder has sludge and stones. I eat mostly carnivore,I take Tudca, bile salts. I have had all the right side pain but the tudca and bile salts take care of it. Can I take these supplements this forever?
I apparently passed a gallstone about six weeks ago. I had all the symptoms for about three or four weeks, starting during a prolonged fast. Stopped fasting any more than 16-18 hours for a couple weeks and had an ultrasound scan. They found nothing. I resumed fasting and feel fine. Now, I just have to break my 10-to-12 week plateau.
