This is the most common question asked and requirement of many people. Considering thin and normal people who have only a slight belly fat and wish to reduce only that belly, firstly let's get this cleared that "There is no spot reduction"; "you just cannot target a particular point like a laser beam and try to burn that fat (spot reduction)". When fat loss occurs there would be decrease in fat proportionally all over the body. Considering people only with a big belly ( accumulation of fat only around the abdomen area), one of the causes could be increase in level of cortisol hormone, the other reasons would vary from individual to individual depending on lifestyle, habits, type of food and intake, medication etc.

This describes me exactly. I have moved to a position where I don't eat sugar or processed food, am retired and have few stressors, sleep as well as I can, do high intensity cycling 4x p/w plus resistance training and it never changes

Nice to see a Goan content creator with so many views. Personally what worked for me is to go in calorific deficit, protein intake, working out 1 hour (HIIT, weight training with 12 sprints at the end) and over 8 weeks I was able to lose 8-9kgs especially the fat around the tummy

Just by eliminated sodas from my diet, I lost about 5 pounds in one month. However, I was never a big consumer of candy bars, or pastries. Sodas were my kryptonite.

Sodas and soft drinks are highly concentrated sugary drinks. These are unnecessary carbs you were intaking and that 5 pounds is not a real loss but lower water retention due to carbs. You have not lost any fats in this process. Body fat metabolism takes time. Easily around 6-8 months.

One of the major contributors of visceral fat which was not listed on the board is food. Sugar and excess food always get stored as fat. So, you have to consume what you eat and never ever over eat. Also whatever it is that you eat needs to be of a high quality. Mediterranean diet is proven to reduce belly fat.

Belly fat is the last one to reduce, when we start the exercise routine first the face, then shoulder, thigh , leg and arm wt get reduced. The belly fat is the last one to reduce as it requires additional exercise like crunches, push ups. Actually I know, but unable to practice exercise or we need a trainer who can instruct us. One yoga teacher told me to take patanjali barley porridge in the morning, then patanjali multigrain dahlia for lunch and patanjali wheat dahlia for dinner with lot of fruits and vegetables. It will remove all the excess charbi naturally. But one has to be focused to reduce wt. I am still trying

Fluctuating sleeping time and not having a quality sleep is really one of the correct reason usually people don't think sleep can be a important factior for fitness but yes it is.. I am agreeing to this 3 rd point because I have gained such belly fat 😑and when I think about y it happened I find irregular sleeping time is the only thing which has been changed since few months and after that only I am facing this issue, so yes your information was practical and provided a lot of information... At last I want to say that please make a video over how to reduce this belly fat..

The point which is point to noted if a abs are visible by targeting abs muscle but that doesn't mean an individual have fully flat stomach so its better get fully flat stomach first.

I also believe that the hormone insulin is a major factor contributing to fat storage. Insulin triggers fat storage. Thus keeping insulin low through longer fast periods will help release hormone glucagon which will break down stored fats in the body. This is primary reason why IF helps with weight loss. I'm neither a doctor nor a dietician but like to know how our body functions and this is what I believe is also true.

You need to eliminate from your diet: -bread -bakery products -everything that has gluten in it -sweets of any kind -drinks that have suggar in it And you need to have proper sleep and less stress for the cortisol not to kick in and make you hungry. Several times I was so hungry I bought unhealthy food and I only realised it after I ate it. Heres a good advice, either you go all the way or don't diet at all. You need to change your entire food palette, wich is the harderst thing to do.

Very good info but we have to run the video at 1.5x and need to fast forward at times😇 In short, by working out you will only strengthen the muscles surrounding ur belly but won't reduce the fat easily. In ordered to target the fat you need to reduce ur cortisol harmone by reducing stress and getting good sleep.

Thanks, very informative, changing to vegetarian diet reduces belly fat. Non vegetarian foods like chicken, mutton, fish beaf etc., increase belly fat quickly . I stopped eating non veg with some exercise I reduced belly fat to the normal level. Now I am trying six pack, shortly I will achieve it.

Chicken and fish have very low fat. Beef and mutton, I agree. It's not about veg and non-vegetarian. It's about quantity and quality of the diet and lifestyle as well. I have friends who are pure vegetarian since generations but are really obese. Avoid spreading false and impractical knowledge.

Fat burning process is called Lipid hydrolysis. In order to trigger lipid hydrolysis our body should release enzymes called Lipase which are essential for burning fat. Lipase is produced when the insulin spikes in our body are low . so we need to focus more on reducing the insulin spikes. there are number of ways where we could achieve this... first one is avoiding Sugars, And excessive carbohydrates... we could also include intermittent fasting to speed up the process...

I am currently **76kgs, male, 29 years old, 5 feet 10inches(178cms height**). I have been on a constant diet of between **1200 - 1500calories/day** for the last one month to lose **3kgs from 79kg**. I have been eating healthy majorly and my macros would look like averaging **130 - 180gms carbs; 50 - 80gms protein, 30 - 50gms fats, 20 - 30gms fibre daily**. Also my workouts were home-based, including **5000 steps walked daily (250cals burned), mix of weight lifting, belly exercises, pushups, skipping for a total of 500 cals average burned daily.** My goal is to reach a healthy BMI weight of **70kgs** so I need to lose another **6kgs **atleast. But most importantly i have a wary of **belly fat 36inch waist** which protrudes and bothers me to get on this weight loss journey. My aim is to reduce the belly fat to **below 32 inches**. I don't have any other fat except belly fat as I have a slim body overall. I have also been drinking **green tea, ginger lemon water** to boost my journey and incorporated slight **intermittent fasting** hours of **14 - 16hrs daily**. Despite being on heavy caloric deficits and intense workouts, I am able to lose **3kgs** but my** belly still protrudes**. How can I improve myself? As per maintenance I will require at least **2500 cals** to maintain weight with moderate to intensely active, so im constantly cutting around **1500 to 1800cals(including 500cals for workouts) but as per my weight stats, it shows i have been only losing 6000cals weekly average(0.75kg, if 7700cals=1kg lost) in the last month to attain 3kgs lost from 79 to 76**. I eat breakfast around **11 - 12pm, lunch in between, and dinner max by 9.30pm**. I track all my calories quite accurately using **healthifyme app** so what am I doing wrong. Is there any other ways to accelerate my weight loss process as i wanna cut disturbing **belly fat** first. Don't seem to be building that much muscle either as my workouts are mostly cardio** based. **Also most my meals are delivered from healthy restaurants via **swiggy/zomato **as** I dont**** have a kitchen in the house to cook my meals. No sugars/minimal salt/No junk/no milk.** My meals would look like - **ragi dosa/oatmeal with nuts, grill chicken breasts/chicken soups, cucumber/carrot salads, khichdis, max 2-3whole wheat rotis daily, fruits(apple, mango, guava, pears). Please suggest me if I can improve my workouts/diet(sorry for long essay)**🙏

Simple rule : 90% diet 10% exercises ..... We need to take Less carbs , more protein and fibre food ..... Our body is a machine so we need to work to make it fit ..... Please do follow below tips for healthy lifestyle... First do warm up Warm up execrcises are jumping jacks 3 sets 100 per each set or 50 per each set.... 1. 5 sets Burpees 20 per each set... 2. 5 sets of lunges 20 per each set... 3. 5 sets of Planks 2 or 1 minute per each set Back running having more benefits run as much as possible per day ... Do these three execrcises your whole body become fit and flat and also do skipping and jogging so that all muscle will become free and flexible but with good diet not by eating biryanis, icecreams, sugar items and junk food.... Strictly Stop eating three whites ( rice , sugar, salt )...... Start eating salads millets and Jonna roti ... Chapathi also fat it improves our love handles .... Sit in the sun for vitamin D between morning 10 To afternoon 2.... Fair skin people sit for 20 minutes Dark skin people sit for 45 minutes .... Early morning and evening drink 5 glasses hot water compulsory please..... Don't drink cold water and don't eat cold things don't eat salt please consider this as an important thing.... Eat Sprouts instead of egg, because sprouts having 5 times more protein, high fibre content ,zero fat and makes our hormones balanced ..... Good explanation, however a couple of comments - Please stop saying "harmones,". There's no such thing. The word is 'hormones' and contains the letter 'O' in it, so why you keep pronouncing it as "h Ar mones"? Eating healthy food and not overeating. Also no drinks that cause bloating. If you have actual fat on your tummy, then you need to lose it by being in calorie deficit. You have to do it slowly to avoid muscle loss. Also have eating schedule

As explained, cortisol is caused by stress and tension; even wild negative thoughts encourage cortisol. Meditate, exercise, work; do anything to keep yoursef busy and you're able to fight cortisol. Laziness promotes negative thinking.

Alright, so doing cardio(running, skipping etc) contributes to more abdominal fat reduction than abs exersises, correct? So it's more like, get rif of the fat first. then build abs🧐

Belly fat is a type of visceral fat which is the last level of fat which gets metabolized after you have deprived your body of carbohydrates. It easily takes 6-8 months of intense workout (2-3 hours daily) to start burning visceral fats. Belly fat is like the deep end of the visceral fat like the last layer of gutter that is choked up and takes the maximum amount of time to burn. Our body derives its energy from carbs, proteins and fats. If your carbs intake is higher than your requirement, the excess carbs gets converted into fat and stored in the body in different parts like skin, belly, buttocks, thighs, boobs, neck and chin (giving your a double chin) and making you looks inflated. Our body first starts metabolizing carbs and then turns to proteins and fats once carbs reserves are exhausted. If you deprive your body sufficiently from carbs and sugars intake then the stored body fats start burning as fuel and energy needs for the body. This switch over takes time for the body to be adapted from using carbs to fats as an energy source. It could be easily from 1 to 3 months where the body realizes that since carbs intake is lower than requirement its time to start metabolizing body fat as an primary fuel. Also fats are sub-cutaneous (skin fat) and visceral fats (deep layer/belly fats). Sub-cutaneous fats are metabolized first and then once they get exhausted the body turns to metabolizing the visceral fats (belly fats). One should follow a strict diet like Ketogenic (keto) or low carbs diet with intense work out to burn belly fat completely. This easily takes around 6-8 months for person with big belly. Its impossible to burn belly fat in few days or weeks time. People need to understand nutrition and bio-molecules scientifically and not as a diet fad to really build a better physique, well chiseled jaw and chin.

So if I have to pound away my visceral fat I have to eat smart. But then it would mean cutting down on junk foods right. But is it a good option to do so since my happiness would then be sacrificed and that may lead to stress which may further amplify cortisol levels in my body. Would I be replacing one factor that increases fat with another.
