Anxious about the medication? I suggest learning more about it and how it works. If it can relieve anxiety I think it's worth it. I've hit the point where I'm willing to try medication.

Thank you! I will try these three steps. I’m sick and tired of health anxiety. It’s debilitating. I’m loosing friends, and my family thinks I’m faking it for attention. I just want to hide from everything and everyone. It would be five days me being feeling amazing and than out of the blue severe anxiety. I’m drained mentally and physically. I don’t want to loose my job. Thank you Denis for all you do for people ❤️

I’m 60 years old! I have health anxiety and have had since childhood. Dennis, you have me down to a tea. I have lost weight, very little appetite. Shake all the time. Have gone to my doctor. She saw right away what was happening. Put me on Prozac, which is helping. But like everyone else with type of anxiety, I have the worse case senecio. This is a difficult path. Your videos are helping me. Anyone else have this, please reply.

I have always had fears about my health and I have banned myself from google a thousand times. However, I can't unread what I have read in the past and for me it is a vicious cycle. I have horrible anxiety all the time, but lately it has been worse at night, I have made myself very sick in the past with panic attacks. I know when I am having one that it is just in my head, but I always go to the "what if this time it really is a heart attack, what if this time it isn't just a panic attack and I ignore it." My mom is the best at getting my mind off of it, but there are a few times when I had to hear it from a doctor. I really hope I can start finding ways to conquer my fears, and stop getting frustrated when I have trouble doing so right away. I know it takes time. I just found your videos, and I am happy I did, because for once I looked up something that made me feel better; instead of scaring me and making me feel worse.

It's amazing how many scary health related commercials come on before these videos.....lol. Seeking help for these health anxiety issues and a heart attack/afib/cancer commercial comes on before the vid!! I know you don't control this Dennis. You are a great human being and have tremendoulsy helped me and so many others. I find comfort in your voice, your love, and guidance when I hit the wall on a daily basis. I am father, son, husband who has lost so much because of this ailment. But, I am a Warrior and more than anxiety! I am beating this slowly but surely. I will not let this rob anymore time from me or my family. You have helped me do that. I can't truly express how much that means to me and how with your help you have saved me from the depths of despair. Thank you so very much. I love you my friend!!

I favorited this video about 8 months ago, at the peak of my health anxiety. First time sufferer back then. I have just returned to it because after a few solid months of being free of the anxiety, it returned with a vengeance yesterday. A small lump behind my ear was the trigger. But it could have been anything. I believe there are deeper things at play, deeper meanings, maybe even dare I say it experiences when very young of being sick and not being helped, being alone with our deep fear and confusion about what was happening. And now all these years later it has resurfaced. I don't know. Anyway, your video has been a godsend for me this day, has has going to see a very sympathetic doctor who helped me a lot last year. God bless us all.

Dennis, this vid was excellent!! You are so right in saying we are VERY SENSITIVE people. I'm sensitive to light, sound, motion, textures, colours, touch, cold, etc. and was said to be on the autism spectrum. My health anxiety was caused by physical trauma that needed doctors, and physical therapists. It was so frightening that it lead to severe panic attacks and agoraphobia of the worst kind. It has been a year and a half later and I am improving with health anxiety! I don't watch TV except for the weather (I need to know because I am a wheelchair girl going outside)! I listen to up building music and music with FOREIGN language lyrics that cannot sway my opinions left nor right!!! Great vid! And I'll check out your website! I'm interested in the books you have about health anxiety!!!

I rarely reply to videos on RU-vid, but this content is way different. My friend, you are absolutely unique and a beautiful human being. I have been suffering of this exact thing for 12 years on and off. And I only now realized what it actually is. So I never knew, imagine that. Battling a wind mill. It made me strong and a good leader, overcoming my fears. However not knowing what it was created loads of ocd patterns, ruminating, coping techniques and isolation at times. All of that stood in the way of whom I actually could be. Now I know what I'm facing. Exactly. Thank you. This video might have just saved my entire life.

The Anxiety Guy Sorry to bother you but I have a mild followup. I hope you can give a wise advice. I am 34 now and I think what happened to me was that I had a very bad marijuana depersonalization trip when I was 22. The world was scary for about 10 hours or so and I lost it completely, anxiety was going through the roof. Couldn't stop walking around for hours, wanting myself back, wanted my reality back. About two months after that I got dizzy on my way to work and I got very scared and panicked hard. Couldn't keep working there, went to doctors, they never found anything. So I got several panic attacks, bad physical state and so on. It seems to me that that trip triggered that oversensitive feeling of reality that I may be holding. It tightens me up greatly. My mind never rests, I don't even get drunk, I'm hard into keeping my reality stable. At whatever cost. And when anything is off, it triggers the whole thing again. Anxiety, panic, depression, etc. And the worse the condition is, the worst the anxiety is, and vise versa. And it goes round and round. I am guessing I need to address that trip and somehow accept it, try to relax when I don't feel well. That's my key I guess. Appreciate any advice, thank you.

I think I've been dealing with health anxiety for a year now, but it never really set in till just recently, I actually just had a pretty serious panic attack a couple days ago and I don't think I was ever more terrified. I've been watching your videos for a couple hours now and I'm so happy you have had the same experiences and can really explain what this is. I was diagnosed with severe anxiety at 5 years old. Everyone blamed my hearing loss on the anxiety. Being so young and told that I have it, meant that I wasn’t “normal”. I got homeschooled for a few years, bounced schools for awhile. I’ve lost 25-30 family and friends since 2010. I’ve seen someone try to commit suicide in my own school. I was the tough one, I understood death and I wasn’t scared of it. There was one one I was scared when they put me on anxiety medicine at 6 years old, but I never was scared again for it. December 2017 I started experiencing anxiety attacks, legit heart racing ones. The anxiety I knew never did that to me... that was my first real “heart attack” scare. I’m a big girl, so I’ve always used I have heart problems I can’t do that as an excuse... sounds bad but I used to say that in middle school. So when I get scared to walk or exercise, because of my heart working a little extra, I try to remind myself that I’ve climbed a 3,000 ft mountain, and I try to remind myself what I HAVE done that this little bit isn’t going to hurt me at all. It wasn’t until last year that I started having health anxiety, and I know why I have it. My whole life I didn’t really want to live, I didn’t care if I died. I wasn’t suicidal, but I was depressed and always negative, smoked pot and drank, smoked 35 cigarettes a day.... I didn’t care. But after December 2017’s anxiety attack I quit smoking, quit drinking and quit pot. Then I changed the people I hung out with, I befriended my parents again. I started valuing my life more and myself... and that’s when my fear of health started. Because I started WANTING to live. So ever little thing is scary because I want to be here. I don’t know first hand anything about health anxiety, this is my first video. I’m just learning that it’s actually called something. For a year I’ve been telling people no I’m not a hypochondriac, but maybe I am. I can’t deny the anxiety. I have to work with it, anxiety has harmed me just as much as it has saved my life. I believe we’re given tools in life, and one of my tools is anxiety. I need to use this tool for the better, not the worst. You could say I’m a “pro” at dealing with regular anxiety... but health anxiety I’m a total noob. I’ve been working on healing myself for a year now, loving myself instead of hating myself. I changed WHAT I watch on tv, I changed my friends, I changed some of the music. (Not depressing music anymore, but can’t stand to lose the rap) so I guess I just need to work on my thoughts. I’m trying to wrist band thing, I fell asleep watching this video last night after having a little anxiety, so you could say the advice is great! I’m 19 years old, I’ve been graduated from highschool 2 years ago this month, I have my license, I have my legs, i have eyes... I’m great!! Now I just have to get the appreciative thoughts on replay in my head. It could always be worse, so I need to thank the lord for what I have, and I need to use anxiety for the best. One of my biggest regrets that I think feeds anxiety, i wanted to be a surgeon for a long time... so I read and read and watched and watched things online, so I have all of the knowledge that I don’t need and don’t know what to do with. That feeds the anxiety, a lot.

thank you for your videos. I got health anxiety just over a year ago when I had a real bad sickness bug,I started Googling my different symptoms and I convinced myself I had about 50 different diseases despite going through vigorous tests at hospital. I've suffered really bad since,despite being extremely healthy and fit. I convince myself daily I have something else wrong with me despite nothing I've ever thought to be wrong with me ever being real. I'm trying my hardest to recover,some days I'm ok but I'll soon be back in the hole where I'm suffering. Even typing this on here has made me feel better to be honest. maybe I should book up to see a CBT therapist to help me

I have had a very similar experience to yours, Dennis. I have convinced myself for years that I have some illness that the doctors just couldn't figure out... I even traveled to the Mayo clinic because I began to distrust my GP and thought they were the most credible . I have come to accept mostly that my physical body is ok, I have a plethora of labs and tests to show me this. My health anxiety has moved to concerns about my mental health. I constantly think there is something more "wrong" with me than anxiety, even though I have been in therapy for years and only have a GAD and panic disorder diagnosis. I feel like this concern about mental health is even worse than the thought of the physical body being ill. I'm constantly scared I'm going to go crazy. I am very jumpy and hate being by myself. I get scared I'm going to do something embarrassing or going to show everyone that I'm crazy somehow and I will be locked up in a psych ward and lose my family. The one thing that I have noticed is that everytime something physical is ruled out, I start to get more scared about my mental health. I am constantly scared... of what feels like everything. I have been watching your videos and they have been helping me get through the day lately. Thank you for sharing your story with us.

Thank you this helped me a lot. I have been suffering from this recently (constant thoughts that I have a terminal illness like cancer etc) and am taking counselling sessions at my school. Has anyone ever experienced something exactly like this and recovered well? If so how? It has been taking over my life until recently where I have been getting slightly better. I've almost been stuck in a constant cycle. I've felt bad and had a thought and psychosomatic pain only made it worse, further amplifying the thoughts that I'm going to die horribly

I have health anxiety. I get sinus infections about twice a year where my sense of smell gets weak for a couple of weeks. The doctors tell me it'll come back but my head always says it wont. I get terrified. I met with my psychologist recently who believes it's in my head that I feel like I cant smell. I also feel like my nose gets swollen. He said trust me you gave GAD and health anxiety like 2 plus 2 equals 4. He said it's in your head you have to realize thar your mind cause truly cause symptoms like this. Once you do that you'll start to feel better.

When you’re going about your day, feeling fine, not worrying about anything and you suddenly feel a symptom; a pain on one side of your head, a sensation in your chest, etc, how do you know if it’s caused by an old emotion, a conditioning in your subconscious or a recent or past fear and how do you eliminate your immediate worried response to that symptom?

Health anxiety is simply your subconscious mind opining the emotional repression you have not addressed in life. Your subconscious mind has the agency to throw additional fear and anxiety at you if you are resistant (whether inadvertent or advertent to the change it wants you to make. I have suffered from dissociation too, which allows the victim of it to access the subconscious mind to a greater capacity. My emotional repression was, and still is, the ignoring of grief - lost someone invaluable as a child.

I am 32 years old and have been suffering from this problem from the age of 15. Only this year have I admitted to myself that I actually have this problem. Yesterday, I came from the doctor who checked my heart via ECG. Results came out normal. My health anxiety is so extreme that I actually have some physical consequences from it. I have a mouth inflammatory condition (Oral Lichen Planus) where I have pain my mouth and some white lines that appear inside my mouth and on my tongue. The doctor said that there is no clear understanding for the reason of my condition but I am certain it is caused by my anxiety. At the moment my condition is not serious but if it gets worse it can become more serious. The question I have Dennis is, how do I stop thinking about this and checking it in the mirror 20 times a day? My silly actions can make things even worse. Please help...

Absolutely I've had mine for 6 months but it's clearly a byproduct of my underlying anxiety disorder I've had my hearing tested my heart tested everything and it's coming back completely fine The realization that I need to come to is that I have severe generalized health anxiety severe GAD and I need help and I cannot be afraid to try medication cuz anything is better than living like this. But yes I have tinnitus most cases and this is a fact 90% of them do go away and dissipate over time but you must get the anxiety and the stress under control and until you do that it's going to stay with you unless it's from hearing loss tinnitus is completely controllable and most of the time completely reversible but you must accept you have an anxiety problem mine has been crippling for months chronic stress and anxiety can do crazy things to the body truly crazy things especially if you have health anxiety like I do and the mere fact that admitting I have health anxiety and GAD hurts me more than the symptoms That's my gut telling me.. You have uncontrolled g a d and you need help and I do

@TheAnxietyGuy1

shinobi dyll Anyone can listen to whatever type of music they like. I've realized that to create the state I wanted, I needed to identify what kinds of lyrics/tempo and such would feed the state I wanted. So I switched rom dance music, top 40 etc to a slower tempo lounge type songs. Also healing tones that come with binaural beats all contributed to creating new signals for my mind to find peace and relaxation.

How did you learn to trust doctors? For instance, I had a bit high WBC, doctor physically examined me, noted a viral component and extreme stress, and said I am fine, just a reaction to viral stuff. She even did a differential. Had another doctor and ARNP read it as well and they said the exact same thing. I cant get over the hump

At the beginning of pandemic, I suffered fever for 7 or 8 days. I did not get the covid test as it is difficult to get one. So the doctor ordered 2 weeks in house arrested. So I felt panic and too extreme worry. I was angry when I heard some VIPs or having good connection manage to get the test. From then, I developed bad anxiety after that. Now I learned to get over the angry, sorrow, and worry. But anxiety is still uphill struggle but will beat it.

What if they think about negative thoughts all the time and negative future predictions until it manifest into reality, as what law of attraction said. Thoughts becomes words words becomes actions and actions becomes reality. We think we would die in the future because of symptoms poping up, we tell our friends and family that were having a serious illness, we go to the doctor and have a check up and might manifest into reality after? Is it possible?
@TheAnxietyGuy1
@TheAnxietyGuy1 6 лет назад
genara rolloque It’s the emotional charge that creates the manifestation. If the thought stays as a thought, and the emotional charge and repetition are both not present, there’s no juice to manifest it. This is called associated vs dissociated. We also must take into consideration the body’s capabilities of dealing with prolonged stress, the length and severity to consider whether something organic can manifest.
