Meguiar's never ceases to amaze me. This is a mass-market company that nevertheless seeks to honestly produce the best products they can, and there's really no truly _bad_ product in their lineup. Thanks for the review, Sandro. I respect your opinion more than anyone else's on RU-vid (and there are some really good detailers out there, so I don't wish to offend).

Something I wanted to add, Sandro. I believe that a foam's ability to clean rather than foam is more important. And those two qualities are not necessarily related to the other. There are some foams that foam well, and have very poor cleaning ability and vice versa. There are of course foams that foam well, but do a brilliant job at cleaning. I think this fact was missing in this video and that's the most important reason we want to foam a car before hand washing it....so we reduce marring during the washing stage .

Time for a 2021/2022 snow foam vs snow foam I think Sandro

Excellent information. Let me add to the question put forward by a few. "How do I make the foam thicker and cling longer". Firstly, foam or its correct description, a surfactant, is generally Sodium laureth sulfate, which is a very mild netural ph detergent, is chemically engineered to reduce surface tension and acts as colloidal, which is carrier of dispersed soluble particles, those particles being the added detergents. The surfactant/ detergent ratio cannot be modified by the end user. All control you process is the ability to change the water/concentrate ratio within the foamer. But if you require a thicker foam with the ability to cling to both horizontal and vertical surfaces for extended periods to allow both the surfactant and detergents to penetrated more deeply into any contamination, I recommend the addition of agricultural marker foam. This product is completely inert and will not chemically react with added detergents, will not aggressively damage any coatings, those being clear coats, raw paint or other waxes and depending on concentration, will cling to vehicle bodies, or in fact, any surface for hours without dispersing. Purchased as a 25 litre drum, it is expensive but will last, without breaking down,for up to 5 years opened. And you require very little to achieve excellent results. I personally use 100 mills of Bowdens Nanolicious ,400 mills of ag foam , filling the rest with water to fill the container, at a ratio of 1 to 10, using a 2200psi/ 10 litres /min pressure washer. The foam produced will not run freely from the vehicle, and will cling, without degregation or dilation, for 3 to 5 hours. It will not stain, as stated, is completely inert, and will not dry out. In the 48 degree summer heat that regularly occurs in my area of Australia, I trialed this on my personal car. Close monitoring,in full baking sun at peak temperature, which was at 1520, revealed that the foam retained moisture for 3 hours before the evaporation became to great and degregation occurred. Just some friendly advice to those interested. Oh, and if you suffer from hard water, a solution is to run all water thru a pool filter, as this will remove 98% of all particle matter, silimar amounts of chremical contamination and produce a very soft water that will not streak, tastes very similat to natural spring water, but can cause foaming difficulties.

Thank you for your excellent videos. I'd like to mention that if using a less powerful electric power washer with a foam cannon is not producing a thick and clinging foam, then change the orifice or nozzle screw jet to a the smaller 1.1mm and it will greatly improve the performance of any soap.

Very nicely done....a greatly informative piece. Thank you. One observation that I would make with regard to pressure washers, which are seen more frequently than they used to be.....and are used at Car Washes. Pressure Washers work at pressures that can be extremely damaging, especially when they are used to clean caked or dried mud from underneath a vehicle....the sort that gets into crevices and sills and other hard to reach places. This is because they are capable of cracking and then stripping off any underbody protection that has been applied at the time of manufacture. Think about what a pressure washer does in cleaning a wall or a decking area and you'll get the idea. It never ceases to amaze me when I see people using a high pressure washer on their vehicle, when all that is required is a modest flow of water from a hosepipe. I sometimes think there is an element of 'boys toys' about things where a pressure washer is concerned. The small triggers you can buy for a hosepipe work well enough and usually give just enough of a small concentrated blast that will clear mud but not do any damage. James Hennighan Yorkshire, England

I love the GC soap too! I found that if you put extra in the container, set the foamier to max suds, I get a thick clingy foam that doesn’t run and breaks down more dirt grime with a 2500psi gas washer. It may take more water to rinse off but it’s better to have too much soap like Meg GC as it give me better results. 👍😃

Hello teacher ! Once More A Great Video! As You Speak To The World, In This Video You Address Very Important Issues As Economics ! Not Just Products, But Mainly, The Precious Water. Just To Give You an Idea, Here In Sao Paulo, SP, Brazil, We Are Facing a Phase of Lack of Rain Which Leads Us To a Water Shortage. Well, It Rains Once in a While But Not Enough To Fill Up The Water Dams That Supply São Paulo and Neighboring Country Cities. In this way, Knowing the Equipment We Are Operating On Becomes Very Important For The Saving of Products and More Importantly, Natural Resources. Here, The Most Used Machines are Karcher, Wap and Tramontina. They Have, In Average, a Flow Rate of 5 to 6 liters / h, Since They Are for Domestic Use. That's It Professor ! Once Again Thank You For The Relevance Of Your Informations. Best Regards ! Ed São Paulo, SP Brasil

The best way to have the cleanest water is to attach a carbon and mineral fitler to the main taps you have or will use with your pressure washer, which will make your pressure washer last a lot longer and you will use a lot less products when washing your car truck or caravan and especially if you have the mains done ie: the main water line coming into the house is filtered and you have all the main water lines with Hi grade plastic piping instead of the old steel water piping, but if you have a older home with the old steel water piping then it would benefit to have a mains filter put on, which stops an carbon and minerals from reaching the taps and also the main taps which is used for drinking water you have a carbon and mineral filter connected under the taps. :)

Hi Sandro once again a great vid. I have just started with a foam cannon and love it. Just as a note I love the Megs Ultimate W&W it gives my Yellow duco the best shine I use it as a topper to FK1000 and it rocks BUT on my last visit to Super Cheap the Megs NXT was on special and I have been wanting to try it. Well I didn't use the foam cannon but the NXT just loved the FK1000 and the trial side panel I have with Nova Jet on it. Without trying to gush to much the NXT super charged the reflective Hard Candy look of FK1000 and Nova Jet even more. Have you seen any results similar to what I just have ? All the best Danny.

Thicker foam seems like a gimmick. Thicker foam would mean less of the active ingredient making contact with the surface. Opinion?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 2 года назад
It’s really about the results and specific foams. I’ve used some that don’t work well when on the thicker side while others stick dwell and perform great in that thicker consistency and vice versa for thinner foam applications. Because products are different, you can’t always all of them the same with the same results, it’s really about assessing each one and seeing what works best for you.

Hoping you respond but it's an old video so who knows. You have a black gloss paint job on your car, how would you maintain that gloss look for the longest with the least amount of washes? I'm thinking Maguiars soft wash foam, then hand wash with the same soft wash, then hand wax with meguiars gold class carnauba wax. That should protect the car for 6-7 weeks apparently. Would you just foam with meguiars wash and wax every fortnight or so to keep it looking great or would you hand wash on top as well? (I live in melbourne too so I know how great our weather is ;-p ). Thanks!
@09discovery09
@09discovery09 6 лет назад

@7071t6
@7071t6 3 года назад
gek wash is the best, it will not take off any protection you may have like any type or band of wax and especially any SIO2 sealants or hybrid sealants ,so best to use if you dont want to effect the existing wax protection no matter what it is and also with built in wax snow foam car wash soaps, they will induce minor swirls or hazing if you wash the surface on a warm day always make sure the cars surface is cool to touch with your hands, plus use of cold water will make even cooler as well, but never wash it when it hot to touch especially the bonnet and wheels?

I have ceramic coating and what do you recommend to use either online purchase or through my detailer in Sydney?

What do you think about Fireball Hydrophobic Snow Foam/Shampoo as a maintenance wash by hand/foam gun?? Still doing some research and I found some sites that say more alkaline base car wash gets rid of dirt etc... for ceramic coated vehicles, what are your thoughts on that?

Thats the thing is that I don't want to waste money on product that will strip away ceramic coating, I am leaning towards NXT, Snowfoam Au which I currently use. But am thinking about fireball HSF, Nanolicious, Carpro Reset-(seems a bargin for 1L) to not strip away paint but also boost ceramic and remove dirt easier

Got as far as the second detergent - why on earth didn't you save yourself some time and mark 50mL on the foam bottle itself? Much less hassle. Lovely Alfa, by the way

Cz its always advised to put warm water in the foam cannon bottle first, and then add the car wash shampoo.

I understand that you can use almost any wash product to foam up with. But I'm just curious as to why you compared 1 product that's actually sold and marketed for foaming up against a bunch of car washes. Why not compare foam products against other foam products

So out of Gold Class and Wash n Wax from Meguairs (as each I've heard work very well) how would NXT compare?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing Год назад
It would be closer to Gold Class overall, I probably prefer NTX a little more, it’s maybe a touch slicker and nicer to use but honestly I don’t think there’s a whole lot in it between them.

Which pressure washer nozzle do you use? I have a new pressure washer and am worried about damaging the car. Should I use the widest 40degree nozzle?

I am one of the first to get my hands on a Bigboi washr FloR pressure washers and was told from Bigboi the best for washing my car is the 15 degree nozzle. That seems to harsh. Maybe for rims. I will start with the 40 as you suggest. Thanks again.

Ahh !!! Very good. I want one now. It's frustrating when trying to pressure wash and the hose gets caught under the tyre. Who sells them ?
