What Level Should You Be For Elden Ring DLC? | Shadow of the Erdtree 

I think someone at FromSoft said it perfectly, “whatever level you are when you beat mohg and got there naturally” or something along those lines.

The way to access the dlc IS the hint on what level you should be. A level that allows you to beat Mogh.

I think this attack power upgrade system Miyazaki was referring to being similar to Sekiro is gonna cap us after a certain point where level 150 is no different then 300 within the DLC area. Just my opinion. EDIT - meaning they will gimmick something up where we only can do so much damage to enemies naturally, then we can raise attack by obtaining these upgrades. I don't know what will probably be something weird like "jars of Miquella's sweat" or some other sus sounding thing.

I didn't think of this until just now, but I'm happy the entrance is Mohg arena. I almost never get called to help with that fight in co-op, and imo he's one of the funnest bosses.

If for whatever reason the DLC still seems a bit too easy for you, you can just respec at Rennala and dump some levels into something you don't use. For example i'm level 163 with a +10 Bloodhound Fang, if i'm killing enemies too easily, i'm going to respec and dump a bunch of levels into Faith which I currently have ridiculously low.

150-170 sounds good for me for the DLC, I cannot fucking wait!

Man I was thinking about this the last couple days,I think 125 would be a sweet spot not to easy but not to hard where you would feel under leveled!

Considering you can get a +10 somber weapon with margit, godrick, and the volcano manor godskin as your only boss kills, you can kill mohg as early as like level 50 if you want to pump your damage stat.

I'm level 602 at Ng+17 with 650 hrs but I feel it won't be enough

Great video dude, btw sekiro did have a level up system, it was a mask which was locked behind a quest and about 1/2 of the story.

Know your build and have your favorite weapons at +25 & +10. Get your vigor at 60 so you can take a big hit and still survive and your main offensive stat at 60-80. I prefer 200 builds because I never feel like I’m missing out on that builds full potential.

I will be around 250 in NG+1. I'm a bit of a newbie in souls games but absolutely love it.

I can imagine a system similar to DS2 with Vendrik, where gathering certain items will decrease/increase stats in the game to make the player stronger or more effective against these DLC bosses

Great video! I rolled a Samurai to the mid 250’s and I am putting him on the bench for Shadow. Either going with a 135 bleed rogue, or 130 warrior strength build to get the full experience. Better to get your ass beat and savor the experience than steam roll everything.

This is really good information to know, because im level 210 right now and i dont want to stop leveling up. Im on new game plus and just got everything i want for the dlc. I went to new game plus for the sole reason that ive played this game for 500 hours collectively on multiple saves and have gotten so good at the game that i cant die unless its a death rite bird, the last 4 main bosses, malenia and mohg(ikr thats a lot of bosses to suck at and still be "good" at the game😂

My main is on ng+2 level 420. I will probably try it with that build so I can pick up and use any items/spells I find. I also have builds ranging from 225-125 and inevitably the RL 1 run will happen.

I’m still debating starting a new playthrough now and go into NG+ and just get going on 6.21 once the DLC drops. Definitely doing a new starting build for it.

One thing I never here mentioned is that if ur worried about being over levelled, u can respec ur character to be a “jack of all trades”… that way u won’t be too powerful, but u can also experience all the different builds without having to respec

I’ve completed 2 full playthroughs and I’m almost finished with my 3rd for the Ranni ending but I was around 200 give or take a few lvls for each completion.

My plan is to go in with all the upgrades , at level 130 , +24 normal dual wielding , and hopefully light rolling that way I’ll be end game but still have room to improve the character and git gud if need be.

There is one reply to a comment here I saw that pointed out something really smart. They mention how in DS2 there are Giant Souls which determine how effective you are at damaging Vendrick. Yes, it is functionally similar to Sekiro's attack power. But in terms of lore, it might be similar to how DS2 does it. Maybe in the DLC, we'll get something relating to Miquella that will help deal damage in the Land of Shadows. It could even be something like the cut content dream mist item. This could encourage non-combat exploration and maybe make use of the sleep mechanic which is hardly used in the main game - both by players and enemies.

I’m 205 just starting ng+3, struggled with the last few bosses due to my melee only build but really excited to get into the dlc

Prolly around 150-160 I appreciate you explaining the whole attack power concept I never played Sekiro so I wasn’t sure what it meant it’ll be nice to another benefit to roaming and exploring the new map other then just to soak all the new content in

I have 3 lvl 140 characters that I'm keen to take into the DLC my curiosity is how new weapon types will fit into those pre determined builds. That'll be the most fun to find out. I have a Spellsword Vergil from Devil May Cry, a Lightning Dex sellsword and a straight up Guts/King Gaiserik build with mostly strength but a lil bit of faith and a crossbow.

I’m going in lvl 100 with +8/+20 weapons. I appreciate that we have a cool new levelling system but I still want to experience the progress of classic levelling, so I’ll have up to 50 levels to get in this DLC before I cap off.

Two of this games biggest things are rewarding exploration and build variety. Some builds are going to naturally feel stronger than others going into the expansion, but if you dont beat main and optional bosses via exploration, you wont acquire damage multipliers (attack power) to scale your build to what i assume will be a gradual jump in health and difficulty with the bosses.

I have to 2 characters one that’s end game (beat all bosses optional & mandatory just haven’t chose an ending) & another that still has mohg, malenia, Radagon & Elden Beast! Both are around levels 120 so I believe I’ll tackle the expansion on reg new game first then ng plus right after so I can start with whichever cool new weapon I find & want to use from the dlc!

There was this one time when I was summoned to help level 25 player to beat Godskin Duo in Farum Azula... so much for optimal leveling, lol :D

i was level ~160 when i finished my first run. im now on NG+4 and sitting around level 310. so honestly im not too worried about the dlc being a cakewalk since i've already made the game harder for myself. for those who're wondering, after a point i decided to balance my stats out so i could use just about every weapon in the game. i believe the last time i check i had about 50-55 levels in each stat.

What I like to do, to keep it challenging at a high level, I max out Arcane to have a higher drop rate on items, while not rocking an Arcane build. So lets say I run a pure STR build, I max out Arc, put a lot of points in END, and the minimum reqs for my weapons

I'm going to be playing through the dlc with two characters, one at level 125, and one at level 90, the reason why i chose RL 90 is because I've had a few successful runs at RL 80 with completing the base game, only doing this to see if it's possible, otherwise, I can always take the time to grind the dlc for runes and level up there.

Im going to go in at max level on ng+7 but I will not be using broken things to get a harder experience and that I could try every weapons and spells

Which level you should be depends on your build, since some builds require more levels than others. But I agree with the person who said that whatever level you are at when beating Mohg is good.

There is one fromsoft dlc that did something similar already, the dark souls 2 dlc where ypu can free one or more knights to help you fight the Burnt Ivory King. That was kinda like a ingame difficulty slider by eksploration. And of course the giant's souls as a dmg boost against Vendrick.

Im going in at level 300, I like being able to use every weapon, I am running st trina’s sword sleep build, I feel its going to be very viable in the dlc

I haven't played Elden Ring in almost two years so I cant wait to start up a new playthrough in preparation for the DLC.

i'm gonna go to the dlc with my level 1 save then i'll do another run with a mage around level 100 and another with incantation around level 100 too

I have characters at 80, 115, 125, and 130, probably will be playing my 125 build first, although pushing one of them to 150 is tempting for a tiny bit more build freedom! looking forward to experimenting with new weapons !

I’m aiming for a lvl 10/20-23 level weapon and 150-170 lvl. I don’t have a lot of time to struggle so this should be good to have a good experience. I’m gonna clear out limgeave, caeild, leyndell, Liurnia, underground areas and Mogh’s area

setting up a FTH/DEX & STR/INT round 100 to give myself a nice spread, taking two plates to the buffet

I'm going first with a dex faith build just below 150. Depending on what kind of items I find in the dlc I have 3 other characters with various builds. Strength/Arcane bleed, Int/Faith spell caster, and a jacked level 365 dragon cultest. That last character is on ng+7

I'm gonna try and go in with my first playthrough character that ended their run on NG++ at level 69, I might end up backing out to a higher level character if it feels impossible and save that file for a challenge later, but I wanna see if I can do this, it was the file I first beat Malenia on without spirit ashes at that level so I want to see if I can keep pushing the challenge for fun. Crossing my fingers I haven't forgotten everything when I drop back in!

I’m doing another play through on my first NG+ right now. I’m currently level 182 and plan on being 190-200 by the time I’m DLC ready. I think that should put me in a pretty comfortable spot

What if im on NG8? Will the dlc level up as we progress on ng+? I started a new character to be around 200 on the first olay through when the dlc releases just in case.

I just made a new build in preparation for the dlc, I'm going in as low level as I can possibly manage, I'm going to try around level 60 or so.

I think I might just start a new character and see how quickly I can bum rush it to the DLC. And that's the level I'll play it at. I also want to try and only use the new weapon types in the DLC. But we'll see if that's possible.

What im currently doing in preparation for the dlc is having 3 + different playthroughs ready. Each focused on a specific build. (dex/strength, faith/strength, intelligence/strength, etc). I get my character to around level 130 doing most major bosses except malenia, placidusax, and maliketh + everything that comes after him. So when I beat the dlc I can beat the rest of the base game with whatever I come out of the dlc with. Ensuring im prepared with lots of smithing stones and larval tears for whatever the dlc gives us. Although doing it this way has its downsides. Considering most of my final bosses are fire giant, godskin duo, and commander neil, is a bit unfortunate because those bosses suck imo. But it will be worth it for the dlc!

I’m just now levelling a new character until I reach 150 for the dlc and have a solid build to start and take it on. But I’m also going to get my lvl 180 NG+ character close behind and just see what feels better 😊

The character I’m going to use first is currently level 243 and I’m still working on them. I want my stats to be as high as possible so I can pick up a new toy and immediately play with it; everything looks too cool to not try!

If it works like that, 'attack' progression, then I'd be really happy. I've honestly haven't done a new character since I've been trying to collect all the items. I'm on like new game +6 or 7, not sure my exact level. I honestly didn't really like the start of the game and don't want to go through it that 'weak' again. Hopefully there aren't any side quests that are added that are tied to the main story, so I don't have to go into a new NG+. My most recent game I've beaten the Haligtree and Mogh's palace. I think I was doing Farum Azula but not close to finishing it. So I should be able to get started with the DLC as it comes out, as long as there weren't side quests.

I'm just getting all my characters to lvl 120-150

Its a very practical and flexible line, if you can beat Mohg and Radan your at the right level for you.

I'm gonna run through at with my lvl 138. I want to see if the Golden PvP lvl bracket is chill with the DLC, I would be quite pleased.

I have 9 builds ready in-between 125-150. I have a magic build w dmgs. I have a str/faith build with crucible weapons. I have a lightning and fire build. A dex/ magic build a pure str build and a frost gravity build and a dexbuild. The last spot will be a str/arc or dex/arc build

I used to cap at 150 but after doing many invasions I’ve come to love 168. It’s the sweet spot imo. Enough to split into two main stats but not enough to be a master of all.

I hope they add a boss mode like the gauntlets they had in Sekiro! Some kind of boss rush/gauntlet mode of some kind. I'll be goin into the DLC with a 150 character, now I just don't know if it will be an established and stacked out character or a completely new playthrough that I will start a month or so before the DLC drops...

This has been my first souls game, and I absolutely love it!! I’m on my third playthrough, and I’m trying to 100% the game before the DLC drops. I’m actually almost level 300 (285 I think). Game is absolutely amazing, and I can’t wait for this DLC!!

Imma try and make a new build to go through the game before the DLC drops. My intention is to stop levelling at 125, so if stuff seems too hard at the start, I can level up 150 but I won't accidentally trivialise the early parts of the dlc.

This is Interesting because I’m so good at the mohg boss fight now I can beat him as early as level 60. But realistically I think you’re supposed to beat him somewhere around 110-120 just based off the amount of souls he gives you and the area you access him from. I just started a new character to start prepping for the DLC and I think I’m going to level them to either 120 or 135, then get all the way up to the radagon fight and stop. Probably just going to invade and help people with bosses at that point to stock up on rune arcs. But if I stop at 120-135 I’m going to level my character up to 150 while playing through the dlc, but then I’ll have 30 or 15 points to play around with when I start collecting cool new weapons.

I'm someone who finds joy in overleveling a character, and getting rid of the difficulty out of a game. It gives me great pleasure, to try a hard boss, die, then go elsewhere and grind for a while, then come back and oneshot it without having to learn all of the attacks. So I hope that the game doesn't punish you too harshly if you're over leveled.

I have a lvl 130 strength build save file where i beat the game but i didn’t start ng+ yet i‘ll probably use that one

im going in with my second profile at level 140 something, my main is already in ng+2 so i leave that one for after the first playthough im gonna be using the lordsworn sword and the banished sword, and the red shield

Well i done ng++ to get all endings for the achievements and i was way overpowered. Sure i was level like 300 or 350 or something crazy as i farmed a good bit to beat malenia on my first run. But i havent played the game since getting all achievements which was a couple months after the initial release so probabably will do a whole new playthrough and try stay at a reasonable level

I'm gonna be about 360. So that way I can experience almost ALL of the DLC and weapons at max benefits in one go. I'm not sure I'm gonna be able to play through it 8 times back to back. But when I do decide to come back to it, I'll know what is there, what Stats I'll need to use whatever I want to use. And I'll play through it naturally.

Whatever level I’m at when I get back to Mohg’s palace in NG+. I’m not too fussed about making it too easy, that upgrade system seems neat

It's a June release, so I might take one of the lower level characters to >90 and then test the DLC for damage. If too low, level into meta. If I play the character an hour per day, that's +100h of progress - way more than enough to get ample equipment and resources. I have my first character at rl175 in NG+1, but I think the balance is kinda whack. Again, will test in the DLC. It'll be fine.

Will your ending in the base game affect the DLC? Like the Frenzied flame ending, where Melina is kinda pissed at you? Because she is supposed to tell you where to enter the DLC etc.

New dlc progression sounds similar to how you collected giant's souls in DS2 to get rid of Vendrik's damage resistance.

I'm so set for the dlc, I'm doing a game ++ first, then play thru with a new character, I'm trying not to over think it, just have fun.

I have a 125 for pvp a 150, 180, 205 and 305 so I’m good. I will use my high lvl for the first run so I can test weapons, figure out what I like then run my pvp build through for those said weapons.

How much of the story should you do though like will melina have dialogue despite potentially burning/ leaving you will while Miyazaki said it won't effect the main story that doesn't mean it won't give a new ending or change optional content in the main game like new gidion dialogue

Miyazaki said it would be around Mohg’s palace level. I completed the game easily at 125. PvP meta’s at 125. I’d definetly stay there until further notice. Plus Miyazaki in the same interview said there would be an alternate levelling strategy that won’t affect your current level

I'm hoping the dlc bases the difficulty of what your base game is. Ng has ng enemy stats etc

I’m a first time Elden ring player level 80 melee character with a poison build my character is deadly so far but still a struggle which I like gotta earn that Elden lord I’m glad I waited due to the lack of wait for the dlc
